i went out today and bought one of the games that Todd was talking about. :woohoo:
The only one they had instock at Best Buy was Ravenhearst.
You have to find hidden items in 32 different rooms in this haunted mansion. That's the easy part. You also have to solve puzzles that allow you to unlock a door. These are pretty challenging. :headache: At least I think they are. Maybe I need a 10 year old to help me! :upsidedow
Looks like it will keep me busy for a while. :)
Excellent Sharon...just a word of warning...in order to finish the game, you MUST do ALL of the puzzles...no skipping.

If you get stuck, I will be glad to help out! :teeth:

Ok, so I totally don't get this. . . I'm certain I've missed something along the way, but would you mind :flower3: explaining about booking flights??? I guess I'm kinda slow. . . . :confused3

I noticed in your siggie you are going to Vegas. . . where are you staying? Do you know about the new Loew's hotel on Lake Las Vegas? We love Vegas and are taking our kids there in '09.
welcome home penny! i don't see the steeler's listed, oh yeah...they got clobbered...Go SeaHogs!:cheer2: sorry marci

i checked out the loews in Vegas, looks elegant & quiet. We've never visited the strip before & are sneaking in 2 nights 3 fun filled days;) ; 1 mostly allocated to hoover dam; so it's a quickie 'fer sure. Don't want to drive the 1/2 hour to the strip from Loews

I've been digging around & bought two guidebooks, UG & Frommers for Vegas. Leaning toward the corner that has MGM, NY-NY, Excalibur & (tropicana?). Probably the excalibur: guys are into knights, castles, etc; price is right; new pool will be done; rooms upgraded fancy like;) ; trams/overhead walkways to Luxor, Mandalay Bay and the guidebooks both give it a thumbs up, especially for families.

then of to DL hotel:woohoo: i'm not too excited lol probably drive, perhaps fly on SW if they offer a cheap-o rate to LAX area; quite possibly might beat the price on a rental car (even though i've got a free day coming w/National)

I (and many others) were waiting for SW to open flight schedule this week. I needed to book leg of trip out to vegas; wasn't thrilled with the price ($119+ pp; booked it anyway). It jumped within a hour approx $70 pp; now it's $245.50+ pp, 3 short days later:confused3 .

Interestingly, I had booked return on AirTran from LAX the day before. Finally, was able to use redeem a voucher & partial credit balance! While the rate seemed high; I rationalized that it was offset by my "credits". Same rates went up again - after SW released their rates the next day.

It just makes me nervous as heck, so spoiled by relatively low airfare; sure would cramp my style and travel budget if the fares start to dramatically increase. USAir is pulling so many flights from PIT we don't have many options for low cost airfare other than AT & SW

Hope it's just a blip on the radar, the old "increase the fares & see if anyone bites ploy?" :wizard: Guess we'll know soon enough.

$59 / night rooms..........!!

Marcie,

Have to tell you ... we were on the Zuiderdam (3/2003), and BIL and SIL were in the Penthouse on the Zuiderdam, 7045 (which you had dubbed the Owner's Suite) in this pic!

http://thumb2.webshots.net/s/thumb3/3/97/47/192739747FRHZae_th.jpg

I will have to see if I have pics online from inside the ship ... know I have some in the 1/2 scrapbook I made, but can't remember if they're online. We had dinner in the PH one night. The inside is very cool, if vibrantly decorated. They have a Butler's Pantry which proved to be very handy with full fridge, microwave, but most importantly blender! Have a pic somewhere of friend Tom feeding me and SIL grapes in that very hot tub on the verandah! Not all of HAL's PH's have a whirlpool on the verandah. Only their Vista classes do. Not sure about the Eurodam.

Hey, do you know if RCCI's private island has cabanas? I have been trying to look, but can't find the info.

Thanks for posting your pics!!

Thank you to everyone who sent a card or who gave condolences. There was a fantastic turnout at the service/wake, and I know my sister and her husband are smiling down now, with their yougest having now joined them.

I really appreciate all the kind thoughts.
Thank you. :grouphug:

Glad you're home, Penny. Glad too the service went well. We missed you around here!

OK...going to rant...be prepared........

Well had a great day at school...got this great gag thing...a shocking stapler. I have been getting people all day :lmao: . Went to our swim meet. Didn't win, but had a good time regardless....the boys did very well.

Well I call the DF on my way home. We have been looking at the real estate market to get an idea of what we may want to get after we are married. So I told DF to get the situation about is current house sorted out.

(To make a long story short, the house is in his and his parents' names...well there is questions about how much was contributed from each party. See, the DF has inheritance, which included one half of a house in NJ. Well, he put forward his savings in $$$ and his parents said that they would give him 100K for the house..something he shouldn't have done, but it happened. And then took out a 250K loan.)

So while he was speaking to his father tonite, his father said that they put $125K for the down payment and then the $250K mortgage...to equal $375K. The price of the house. Makes sense so far? So he has been taking care of the bills, and his parents said that they would pay the taxes every year. Well we find out that the parents were using that 100K towards the taxes (which they claimed they were paying). So he virtually had no saving and was taking care of everything himself....not an unreasonable request, however his parents took that half of the house (probably 300K worth) and are waiting for the brother to either sell OR REIMBURSE THEM).

I know this is long, but DF has an entry level position and it takes years to work your way up. His parents jeopardized any money that he has. DF just wants out right now, but the parents are co owners.

I was crying, then fuming........I'm telling you, they will never see any grandchildren, and I wish terrible things upon them. Sorry to be spiteful.....but they bought a 10K boat, 42 in. flat screen TV, and are paying his bro's tuition.....while there son is barely making it by.

I detest these people to the furthest extent......

Sorry about this, but its very upsetting that these awful people played with their son's funds to make themselves more comfortable.

Hi everyone. I've got to say that I really admire everyone who can keep up with this thread!

just checking to see who reads my crap........

don't worry...we read it

Well that's just it, I am a night owl too. While I have been thrilled to have the kids back in school I have been less than thrilled with the fact that I have to get up and get them off. We had gotten in the habit of staying up till 2 or 3 in the morning and it has been very hard to get back to bed at a decent time. So, if we all stay up late maybe I can sleep till 8 or so! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

bubba has had some "issues" getting up in the mornings too....Christmas break messed up his sleeping schedule :headache: We are NOT morning people either.....night owls...and Bubba....well, when he's in skool, he's a morning person, even in summer, he's usually up by 8 ..... why? :confused3

You have my :wizard: for everyone to sleep in :goodvibes

no elmer yet?

i booked the flight to Vegas when the bell rang on Wednesday, it went up within an hour; now the 1st direct one (ours) has doubled...are u ready for this I Wanna Get Away Fare?
1 way pp $245.50; for the 3 of us $735

nearly double what i paid; wonder if i should give up looking for a DING lol

No....no Elmer :confused3

Bet you are  with your $119 huh?? Doesn't look like you'll do better. Once the word is out that fares are out for summer for SW, they will only go up....lots of peeps travel in the summer ;) Busy season

if elmer doesn't show up soon, i 'll start calling the neighbors for her.......

uh-oh.....here we go again :scared:

i went out today and bought one of the games that Todd was talking about. :woohoo:

You guys need to help me out with these games you are playing. Is there a website to explain them all? Think Bubba would be into 'em...or not appropriate for childs? (Still trying to think of birthday gift ideas) He likes to do the puzzles that you 'find' things ...this sounds interesting (but, I didn't open the link to play the game cuz I didn't have any time to play......can you repost link? By the time I go back and find it, it'd be 50 pages! )Would like to see for myself if it's something I think the boy would like. Thanks guys!

Penny - glad to see you back, safe and sound. We missed you. :grouphug:

What she said....welcome back! We missed you :grouphug:

Guess we know of 2 people NOT invited to the wedding :rolleyes1 I'm sorry they did this to you guys...it's unforgiveable  I would never consider taking any of my son's money...that is just wrong.:sad2: His parents 'owe' your DF BIG TIME and I don't blame you one bit for feeling the way you do....that was wrong what they did, selfish and completely rude :snooty: Heck, I don't even know them and I don't like them! :snooty:

Hey damo.....eh, not so much 'keep up'....more like, just jumpin' in whenever :thumbsup2 So, what YOU been up to??

Thanks Barb, I needed to know I wasn't crazy.....you want to take their places at the wedding ;) :thumbsup2 ?

I always feel badly about jumping in without responding to everyone else's trials and tribulations.

My son just passed his first semester of Engineering. I swear I grew so many new gray hairs this semester. My daughter is finishing up her last semester of University. My husband retires on Tuesday. Our new little house in South Carolina now has beds!!!

Only about 5 weeks until we go down to Universal for our little vacation. Half of it will be with my son and the other half with my daughter since they get different spring breaks. How stupid is that!!!

I'll post pics soon of our new house. I've got them on facebook and I need to transfer them to some other site.

Barb...I think Bubba would like these...and you and Randy might as well. ;)

You can check out the games at www.bigfishgames.com. They are listed under the hidden objects section. The series is called Mystery Case Files and Sharon got the third game called Ravenhearst. You can download any of the games and play for free for 60 mins.

you have been missed here damo.........so happy that you jumped in.

tell us more about your house. are you going to live 6 months in canada then the other in usa?

you will have so much fun in south carolina.

so much fun that all the homies will bring their pillows to your house for the slumber party............

Well of course, but you can have their places!!

are you talking to me or barb?

if not me, then i will just crash it...:rolleyes1

uh, the groom won't have anyone!!!

I figured you wanna be hammered for the nuptials.....

now i know i have to go to the wedding.
i have to help take care of barb that night!

Penny - Glad you are back home.

Damo - If you are staying away because you feel bad about not responding to everyone please stop worrying about it. We miss having you pop in to let us know what is going on with you.

Congrats to the son, daughter & husband. Can't wait to see pics of the new house. Enjoy your vacationn at Universal. I agree, pretty dumb that they have different spring breaks.

Katie - So sorry the DF has crappy parents. Does he have much of a relationship with them at all? So sad that a parent would cheat their own child. Hopefully you guys can get it all worked out.

And I thought we were all invited too. Or were we crashing?

Barb - The girls are so loud! Can you believe that all of them that were invited actually came? I have 12 screaming little girls in my house!:scared1:

Ally loves to do the Nancy Drew mystery computer games. She had two already and between her birthday & mas she got 5 more. She is in heaven!

The boys got hooked on the offce game and then when they finished it they found all the others and have been playing continuosly since.

Hey to everyone else! Hope everything is okay with Tricia. She didn't ever post today, did she?

Night everyone!
