Marcie...sorry to hear you're working today (me & DH took the day off--shoulda been at the 'office' today...but, eh...screw 'em!)... only till noon..day will go quick!! Enjoy the trip to DH's office and shopping at TRU ....I'm puttering around the house and waiting to get ready to go to friends house tonite.....and then I'm cooking for a crew tomorrow

Well, it's good that you are going to see where DH works. And a meal in the office cafeteria? Bonus!

I didn't know Toys R Us gift cards expired.

Oh, SNAP!!! (to borrow a phrase from Mac!) I just sat down to relax and catch up on all I missed, read the first replies and realized we never made it to Toys R Us! Guess I'm heading out as soon as I finish this post! AAUUGGHH!

Normal gift cards don't expire, but the special ones you got free with purchases before Thanksgiving (most were like "spend $70, get $10 in gift cards") expire tonight. We do this every year. Guess I'll call and see if they're still open!

Oh, and we never made it to DH's cafeteria, or work for that matter. They were closed today for the holiday (okay, how can it be a holiday if everyone's expected to work, but the cafeteria's closed? ), so he decided to take the afternoon off. We went to Olive Garden and used a gift card we got there. Then I took the younger two boys to get their hair cut and it took nearly TWO hours! They said a half hour so we went over to Circuit City next door, came back in 20 minutes and still waited about an hour. Then I think everyone went on break because both kids had their hair cut by the same girl while the rest of the employees disappeared. I was so frustrated after this I totally forgot about TRU! Sigh!

Since the only one of these I have is a radio station, I guess I'll go with that one. Pretty much the same - I have 3 stations set - two are more oldies (meaning 70's and 80's) and one is the station that has Christmas music for 2 months (all of Nov and Dec). I don't know what they have the rest of the year, but it's not obnoxious at least!

I have exactly one CD in my car and it's the soundtrack from the Finding Nemo musical!

Hey - I'm back again!

Called Toys R Us only to find that they're already closed for the evening! So I pulled my gift card out to make sure it wasn't good online and it WAS!

So I went to their website and found a list of video games with free shipping and picked out one I wanted (for me ) - actually it's the Wii version of Cranium, which we all love playing. So I ordered that (DH can give it to me for my birthday next month - then I'll have one gift at least! ) and applied the gift card and didn't pay shipping and didn't have to go out to the store! YAY!

So I'm just hanging out here playing hooky from church. When they get back we'll probably play some board games. At least we don't have to stay up until midnight - we can watch the ball drop, etc., at 11. One advantage to central time! I'll check in as I have a chance!

A Carol update. Well, she worked on Saturday and she works again on Wednesday. That's the make sure she is on the payroll end of 2007/beginning of 2008 thing for insurance and benefits. Her next round of chemo starts January 7th. Right now she is feeling pretty good. It's been long enough since the last round that she's got some strength back and it's not close enough to the next round that she's worrying about it yet. We had a really good Christmas. She seemed to enjoy herself with everyone. Huge outing for her, she decided to go to the Falcons game yesterday. When she and Mom walked in to sit down, her section (all season ticket holders for years and years) gave her a standing ovation. How cool is that?

Is there a UO planning book, somewhat like Birnbaums WDW one? Or just any UO planning book? I haven't looked for that yet on the UO website.

Oh, any UO hotels you guys can request(on and off UO property) that would be $100 or less per night? Any of the Downtown Disney hotels that are good and have codes for them to get cheaper rates?
We haven't decided when we are going yet, but just beginning to think about hotels, planning books, etc.

rose, i have 2 of the years vhs planning video for universal.
you can borrow mine anytime.
they no longer give them away free, it stopped i think in 2002.

yup, still snowing here. only shoveled once and it kept coming down.
letting mr mac do it again when the snow stops falling.

when i get the time, i can see what i have for hotels for you on your request. i have stayed off site and on site. the last 6 years only on site though except for one short trip in 03 to Universal.

rose, i have stayed at all star sports 14 times now.

i like the layout of the place and the price during value season.
its food court is fine for what i need.
the music and movies has nice food courts but at separate stations.

i use the room to sleep, shower and hide my money in the safe there.
i seldom am in the room at all.
i have taken 3 of my boys and stayed at sports and it was fine when they were younger. not a lot of room.

when i have stayed off site, i rented a car.
depends on where you stay if it is worth it after car rental.

one year i didn't rent a car and had to pay for the hotel shuttle service.
that was not good as they only had 2 time periods morning and evening for the parks. and i paid $5 a person per ride.

at the universal side, i used the shuttle when i stayed off site and it was cheaper.

you have time to figure out which way you want to do it.

if you have the AAA card, you can get 10 to 15% discount on the disney rooms and up to a 30% off the loews hotel rooms. it all depends on the season you go that determines the price of the rooms.



posting here has been a hit or miss for me.
i started to think that my cable line is so iced up outside that it might be an issue.
then i remembered i had dsl but all of our power lines are above the ground and not below except for the gas line and water line.



i did notice that the times are more accurate now when a person posts.

Hey guys....

1 hour and 15 min. til the ball drop! At least on the east coast....

The ball is going to be nice, I saw it up close at Macy's and its beautiful!

The darn codeine is taking forever to kick it...i should be out like a light right now!!

The DIS doesn't seem to be moving that slow (knocking on wood) but we shall see!
