Ok - now stop rubbing it in.....aside from wrapping and getting stocking stuffers and grabbing a few more things I saw at WalMart, I am done too :rotfl: My goal is to be done everything by tomorrow night (or in the wee hours of Monday morning anyway) so Christmas Eve will be free
That's the best way to do it. Sit back and relax on Christmas Eve. :thumbsup2

I'm done too. Everything is wrapped and all that. Well, I haven't wrapped the family party stuff for my niece and nephew, but since we won't be exchange those gifts until Friday I've got time.

I have to make more cookies....believe it or not, there aren't many left!

Is Christmas a "federal" holiday?? I thought it was a "religious" holiday.... and is there a "federal law" it's that much ot?

Yes, I can believe there aren't many coookies left!:rotfl: I have to go buy some cookie dough at walmart so we will have cookies to leave out for Santa.

By federal I mean that banks andthe federal government is closed. I know there has been a time when triple time was paid.

The ones you've seen probably either had the central seat removed, or were older models that didn't offer it.

And what is the point with that? What a waste of space.

I usually don't post stuff like this, but I think I'm safe to do so here. I just got this message from my friend, and it made me chuckle. :goodvibes

Tho not exactly in the Christmas spirit, here are the TOP 10 signs You Might Be a Member of the Taliban or Al Qaeda ...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Morning folks...What's on your plate for today?

Today's the first day of Winter! :woohoo:

Should I post this image on the Community Board while wishing "Happy Winter Solstice?" I wonder if I'd get flamed.... :p

Only someone in Florida would say this. And by the way it is snowing in Oklahoma, blizzard like conditions in the panhandle cause the stinkin wind is blowing 40 miles an hour. Supposed to move in to our area by early afternoon. :headache:

Was going to post my Mom-brag about midterm testing at karate last nite (and finish my ketchuping [which i was almost done doing]), but it will have to wait till later this afternoon/evening.....
(have i mentioned besides baking, i'm done :rolleyes1 )

Can't wait to hear all about Bubba's testing. Hurryback to let us know.

Glad you are done. Now can you come down here and help me wrap????????

Jodie- That was funny!!

Lori- Thanks very much, I'm really glad to be back! Nothing better than being up at 2am laughing at homies stories!

Guess what I am doing today- BAKING!! You guys have americanified me! I need to be super careful what I bake because of the kids allergies.

Quick question- Oli is allergic to nuts- does that include cocanut? I really wanted to make snowballs but they are coated in cocanut and but sure if I can make those?

I just don't know what we are going to do when you go back to school! Oh well, we won' t think about that right now. We will just enjoy our time with you while you are home.

Can you bake something for me too?? I told the others that someone forgot to inform me that baking during the holidas was a requirement. ;) And I am glad someone else was able to answer your question about the coconut, thought that was the case but didn't want to answer no knowing for sure.

Post # 6,000 for me!

Woo Hoo!!!!!

Jodie that list cracks me up:lmao: and :wave2: hi Barb and rest of the homies and hope everyone has a great day.

Me too! I think I should be able to pull it off.

Gotta wrap presents, figure out what I'm taking back, figure out if I got enough stocking stuffers, if not go get some more candy, pick up a dvd player for the granddaughter that I forgot about, go to the grocery store, have a birthday party for Ally tomorrow, go to inlaws to visit with BIL who is on his way in from Colorado this evening, get invitations in the mail for Ally's birthday party for her friends - gonna have a sleep over for NYE, marinate a brisket for monday, smoke the brisket, and be at dad's about 1:00 monday.

DH and kids are going to cean house for me. Isn't that sweet of them

Whatcha think? Can I pull if off?

Oh yeah, and I have to get you guys Christmas cards in the mail. The envelopes are addressed and ready to be dropped off!! Yeah they are gonna be real late but I am sending them.:rolleyes1

Gotta go get ready for a wrapping marathon. Everyone have a terrific day!!!!!!!

I'm done too. Everything is wrapped and all that. Well, I haven't wrapped the family party stuff for my niece and nephew, but since we won't be exchange those gifts until Friday I've got time.

Hi Tricia! Glad you are all done too! How is Daniel this morning??? Or did ya get him shipped off to Jod already?

Hi all-
Sorry been MIA. Just too much stuff going on lately and was getting my Christmas shopping done and a little wrapping done yesterday.
Today Chrissy and Matthew are invited to a girl's birthday party. Actually, all 4 of us are going, as it's a movie party. We are going to see National Treasure 2-Book of Secrets today at the party! :woohoo:
I don't even know this girl well, but the girl is in Chrissy's class and Matthew got invited as well.

Sorry I couldn't make it for the Thurs. nite live chat. I needed to do quality time with my family, but I was on the live chat Wed. nite.

Quick posting....

Penny- sorry you are sick, hope you feel better soon  :wizard:
and mummy dust as well.

Mac- I know you are long gone. Hope your dad's heart surgery went well yesterday  and prayers to your dad and you family. Hope you can get back here soon.

  to all that are sick or just not feeling well. I know I have a slight cold myself.

Enjoyed all that posted ornament pics and/ or cookie pics :santa:
I'm sorry I havne't posted my ornament one yet :guilty: I havne't downloaded my pic yet on photobucket and all that jazz to get it on our thread. Hope to do it in the next couple of days.

Jodie- enjoyed your Top Ten list :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I'm sorry you have to work Christmas eve and day. That sucks. When I worked as an RN, I had to work some or most of the holidays and it sucked. Glad I'm not working that anymore (this was before kids).
Hope you can make the best of it, working on a holiday.

Hi to all I didn't get to address!

Ok, gotta run and need to get in the shower soon, for this party.
Hope to bbl.

Lori, I am exhausted just reading that list! If I could lend you a hand, I would. :faint:

Daniel is much, much better. Yesterday was the he's-just-feeling-enough-better-to-be-a-pain-in-the-butt day. Today he is almost normal, which is still a pain because, well, he's 2 and that's goes with the territory, but not the ship him off to Siberia (or Jodie) pain like yesterday.

I have to take inventory of my kitchen and probably grocery shop sometime before Christmas. I'm not doing another turkey. We've had 2 in the past month and I'm tired of it. I'm planning to bake a big roasting chicken, which I already have, but I need to check on side dishes and sweet stuff. I'll make chicken salad out of the leftovers and serve it for the family party on Friday. Am I good at thinking ahead or what?

Can't wait to hear all about Bubba's testing. Hurryback to let us know.

I agree :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Glad you are done. Now can you come down here and help me wrap????????

Hey - I got dibs....she only lives an hour from me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

someone having a "White Christmas"??!!?? :goodvibes

Hey Rose! Good to see you. You'll have to let me know what you think of the new National Treasure movie. I liked the first one, so I'm wondering if the second one will be any good.

Are we playing "Pass the Barb" today? Since she's finished and everything, we could just pass her from house to house... :rolleyes1

Hi Rose! I didn't know you were an RN in a "past life." :goodvibes Yes, I will try to make the best of it, for sure. At least I get to see my family after work. And, I am a keeper of a secret of a family surprise on Christmas, so that will be fun once the big secret is revealed. (My cousin and his wife, unbeknownst to my entire family, are coming home for Christmas. Not only are they coming home, but they'll be announcing her pregnancy. :) )

I went into work very early today because I was relieving Mike. He got selected for a 30% off coupon at Kohl's. Kohl's opened at 6 am, and I wanted my honey to be able to go shopping before it got crazy crowded. I had to make him pick out a gift or two for my dad. We did get him a gift subscription to Blockbuster Online, but unless he has something tangible to open, he gets cranky. Mike was mainly going to get a new winter coat for himself though and just took advantage of the holiday sales. That 30% off comes in handy!

I just have to wrap those 2 small gifts for dad, and I'm done. But I suppose when you don't put up a tree or bake, then it's easy to be "done."

3 feet of snow already. :scared1:
it will be a long freakin winter in the northeast and the mid atlantic states. DH went out this am and bought another 150 pounds of salt. the snowblower hates me. I can just feel the anger in the garage. :scared:

i just sneezed. OMG now my ears hurt.
still sick. throat and neck feel like i have been thrashed around by an entire team of defensive players. still croaking.
some symptoms now are making me think it will change to a bad cold. cannot taste much, but sure as hell hurts like a mother to swallow. someone drive up here and kill me now!

it is very dark out, no sunlight and rain tomorrow.
the good news is that we have had the longest day and now we will be gaining daylight.
:hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass

9-5 giants at 7-7 bills still angry at the inconsistancy of the giants, betcha cofflin gets the boot:rolleyes1

12-2 Green Bay at 5-9 Chicago go pack:banana:

4-10 Oakland at Jacksonville come on raiders:3dglasses

6-8 Philly at 7-7 New Orleans anyone gander a guess???????:sad2:

3-11 Atlanta at 6-8 Arizona come on hawks scoop em up :cheer2:

and.....drumroll please.............................

on a win streak 1-13 getting the first pick Miami
@ 14-0 New England. Tom Brady is expected to play most of the game. it kinda would be nice to see them (remember they are not my team) go 16-0 since it has not been done since 1972, but i do not really care for 62-10 blowouts.......with all the starters in......poor sportsmanship in my humble and not always correct opinion

do you want me to list playoffs after next week or have you heard enough of me????????????????????

Marcie -

Did you see the new Grand caravan pic of inside- you can turn the middle seats to face the back and it has a table for playing cards, etc....may be uber expensive, but if youdo alot of roadtrips, may be worth looking into :confused3

If I had the choice, that is something I wouldn't mind looking into.

Tracie - the problem is that we have 3 kids. There's no way to sit 3 across in that without losing a TON of your storage space. Just wouldn't work when we take ski trips or when we head home to visit grandma and she loads the van up with stuff for us to take back!

Jodie - I thought it was federal law that you had to be paid triple time if you worked on an actual federal holiday. Maybe that was just wishful thinking.

I'm guessing this is only if you work for a federal agency. I know when my brother worked for the government (EEOC), he got a TON of paid holidays that the rest of the world didn't seem to get to! Also, I enjoyed all the pics!

Not sure, but they don't have/use that middle seat... I usually walk between those 2 seats to get to the rear bench seat..... don't they have the rear bench seat anymore?? I think it's removable or 'flips down' because I know I've seen her van have a bigger 'back'...... :scratchin

I don't know if that's new, but it is removable. The reason for it (to answer Lori's question) is what I said above. Sure it would be great to have more room with the captain's chairs, but we need all the van space on some trips, so we would need to have 3 kids in the center row. Trying to determine if that would work (the tiny middle seat) or not. There does seem to be a lot more leg room than in our Venture at least. And yes, both the Honda and Toyota have the third row of seats that folds down into the floor (flush).

In that case....Let it snow....Let it snow....Let it snow!]

Supposed to get 5 inches tonight with a "blowing snow" advisory. Guess that 100% prediction of a white Christmas will be correct. Although we already have feet on the ground so we really don't need any more to qualify. But this may make it more "white" rather than the dingy grey it is now!

  to all that are sick or just not feeling well. I know I have a slight cold myself.

Enjoyed all that posted ornament pics and/ or cookie pics :santa:

I'm sorry you have to work Christmas eve and day. That sucks.

Basically I agree with all of this above. Well, I don't have a slight cold, knock on wood, thank goodnss! But I hope the rest of you feel better, and want to get my pics up, and enjoyed the list and working sucks! How's that for a summary!

3 feet of snow already. :scared1:
i just sneezed. OMG now my ears hurt.
still sick. throat and neck feel like i have been thrashed around by an entire team of defensive players. still croaking.

Wow - you guys have it worse than we do regarding the snow! And I'm really sorry you feel so bad. Are you busy or can you go climb in bed and suffer in peace?

do you want me to list playoffs after next week or have you heard enough of me????????????????????

Well, the Packers are in the playoffs, of course we do! (Okay, okay, I can only speak for myself!)

Well, it's been a pretty crummy day here. We spent much of the day cleaning kids' rooms. Spent about 2 hours each in both of my older two sons' rooms. What a disaster! Got about 3 bags of trash and about 3 bags of stuff to donate. And I didn't go through drawers or closets - just cleaned up the junk.

Left youngest DS' until tomorrow. He spent nearly 3 hours at church this morning for Christmas Eve rehearsal. He's playing the tuba and drums at that mass. Then he had to go back at 3 for rehearsal for mass today at 4:30 (playing the piano for that one). So I didn't subject him to room cleaning today!

Speaking of church, we're heading off there momentarily. Just took oldest DS out for some driving practice, combined with some grocery shopping. It's been REALLY foggy out here since yesterday evening and visibility was really low, so it was probably a good time to practice. Catch up with you guys later this evening!

I saw I Am Legend. Decent flick.

And for some reason, the pics I just uploaded from my new digi cam are not in any of my folders. :confused3 :confused3
I followed ALL the steps, yet no pics. They're still in the camera, thankfully. I'll just have to re-upload them. :headache:

Ye gads ... just got back from dinner at my parents. My angry liberal brother and his wife are pregnant! :scared1: Forgive my shock: I just honestly thought they would never have kids. They have roughly the same due date as my cousin and his wife.

Now I have to figure out what to do: I stole some swim diapers from the HRH pool  for my cousin Meri as a joke that I was going to give to her on Christmas, but now not only will Tim and Meri be making their big announcement at my aunt's house, now Brian and Hillary will too, and I don't have anything for them. Because I didn't know. Crap. I am not unwrapping their gift to divvy out the diapers. I only have 3, so that would be stupid. I hate that I found out this late and I have to work all day tomorrow and Monday. Frick!

Finally, my lovely ornament from Sharon:thumbsup2 ; notice it's place of honor by my Stiller;)
