i've been at college today, crap stuff about jobs in the ICT sectre. it does not help when the lecturer is such a lay about, and can't help even when you ask

Hulllooooo, homies! Cancel that APB. Errrrrr ... do you even remember me, I should say?!

Please forgive me .... was away for 2 weeks post Thanksgiving w/no computer access, then came back home to computer problems. Still have computer problems, but at least my Internet Security is too strong (and just have to figure out how to personalize it so I can allow things that need to be allowed), but at least I can post now!

Yes, I have a new big boss. And, turns out some idiot at work was file sharing with Napster and as such we're all under scrutiny right now. The idiot that was doing Napster at work complained that it wasn't any worse than some of my colleagues who spend an inordinate amount of time on the phone, and so we're now all under watch. That sux considering that I don't mess around all that much at work.

I hope you'll give me a pass on catching up .... went back 40+ pages and still wasn't at the point that I left off.

Haha, I TOTALLY carded Janet! Don't take it personally ... I carded Mac too in October! We "card" everyone! But it was great to meet Janet and family! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear all about your night at RPR!

Tracie, guess you decided not to go? Mike was looking for you. No worries though; can't get rid of me that easily .... we will be there April/May when you're going. :thumbsup2

Sorry I had computer problems ... I have this GREAT coupon booklet for the resort restaurants that I forgot to bring with us last trip, so had wanted to give it away but didn't post its availability. The coupons are only good till 12/20, but include things like B1G1 lunch entree at The Kitchen, etc. Wish I remembered that MF were going tomorrow. Would've sent it along with the MIB cheat sheet I sent back to you earlier this week. Since I'm on midnights, I don't really remember what day it is. If anyone local thinks they could use it (Todd, DM, etc.) I would be glad to send along the booklet.

Anyway, hi and hugs and kisses to all. Missed you guys! Glad to be back. xoxx

:rotfl2: a bug's life:rotfl:

safe travels to all today, scary out there

decided to not take the drugs last night, head feels clearer; think i'll live;)

forgot to report i got a mysterious box in my box(es) of held mail:banana:

fyi, @ my age it's a thrill to be carded, for any reason:goodvibes

to think, i'm a real golden girl:love: and i owe it all to the info here on the DIS board lol

guess i should go help DH sort thru the mountains of laundry:rolleyes1 ; apparently while i slept he managed to wash several basketfulls...all i wanted for Xmas was my laundry done:woohoo:

despite being drenched in latest form of DDT, we were attacked by sand fleas in Hondorus (DH had 52 confirmed hits) while on beach after romp with monkeys in the rain forest.

next day in Belize while tromping thru their version of the rain forest to see mayan pyramids overlooking Guatemala; we were again subjected to several different forms of buggy attacks (did you know their ants make hanging nests in trees? All the better to pounce down on you I suppose).

Next day, i developed an inflamed bug bite; rapidly got worse despite benedryl.

Had to visit ships dr. on Saturday; was running a fever & bite was now a good 4 inches, hot & sore. He deduced i had a bug bite:rolleyes1 of unknown sources (flea, mosquito - who knows); that was "massively infected". I was given handfuls of different pills & charged nearly $900:eek: beached & moaned something royal & they acknowledged a "pricing mistake" & credited me $700 some odd dollars.

Bite area looking better (although it's scope tends to morph shape from day to day lol), i'm woozy from the meds. Hope to be able to stay awake for more than a few hours very soon and bore the heck outta ya all.

A $900 treatment for an infected bug bite? :scared1:

I hope you are med-free soon and can share all about your trip!

Okay...HOW weird is it you talk about waiting patiently for your ornament, and TODAY it comes :confused3 :lmao: Good for you.....

I would LOVE to see a pic of the skool duds tomorrow :rolleyes1

So, Raven is waitin' to open her box....how 'bout you??

and....how 'bout that "stinky" story....you feel well enuf yet??? Getting close to bedtime...we could all use a story :rolleyes1

I know! Here I was just talking about it and there it is! I waited to open my box. I waited until Brad handed it to me. :rolleyes1

I took pics of Joshua before he left for school. I'll try to get them up later.

My stomach is still hurting, but I'll try to get the story about The Stinkys out.

Hi Janet, glad your back!
I didn't know you signed up for the "It's a bugs life tour"!

:lmao:

we are getting some serious freezing rain right now.
yikes!:confused3

 Freezing rain is never good. I hope things are okay your way Penny!

home and back to work and already planning their christmas vacation.
her home computer has a glitch. new boss at her job prefers no personal computer activity done at work.

I don't like Jodie's new boss.

Ha ha...it's 75 in the house right now and I'll probably go to one of the parks on Christmas Day...I've never done that.

So, should we look for you when we watch the Very Merry Christmas Parade? popcorn::

Must.log.off.

Sounds exciting! I hope things work out the way you guys want.

going to work soon.
have to leave extra early due to the ice on the roads.

ketchup with ya later

Be very careful driving on ice! Check in later to let us know you're okay. I may not be YOUR mom, but I am A mom... so checking in is a requirement.

be very careful, mac:thumbsup2

Yeah, what she said!

What IS up with the slowness lately? :confused3 :headache:

I don't know, but it is ANNOYING!!! :headache:

I'm off to the he**hole today :headache: ....just got another "assignment" on Monday....more work, no more pay, no respect.... can't wait to find another job!!! And, here's something interesting I figured out the other day..... I was "told" about the work-load 'falling behind' this past summer (well, duh, they KNEW i'd be in Fla. for 2 weeks...yet, didn't have anyone do anything until the last few days i was out!?) because of my "shortened" hours (Bubba's camp schedule...I only work 4 hours a day in the summer vs. the 6.5 hours/day during skool year). So, in the summer, I worked 24 hours in a pay period....since they told me the 'dependable' people are getting the hours  and took me OFF Thursdays, I now work 26 hours in a pay period...... uh....hello??? It's only 2 more hours than in the summer... :confused3 Do ya REALLY think things are gonna work out well and work keep up and out the door??? Already a month behind...and with the holidays..... :rolleyes1 These people i work for ain't too bright...... talk about cuttin' yer nose off to spite yer face..... :rotfl2:

Well, I'm sure it'll be a good day....LOTS to keep me occupied and i really enjoy the other slaves i work with..... ;)

Hope everyone has a good day.....

HOPE LORI IS OKAY :scared:

Oh, yeah. I love the logic. :sad2:

Hey, maybe your boss(es) and Marcie's boss(es) could get together! Can you imagine what a business that would be?

Hulllooooo, homies! Cancel that APB. Errrrrr ... do you even remember me, I should say?!

Anyway, hi and hugs and kisses to all. Missed you guys! Glad to be back. xoxx

Good to see you Jodie! We missed you!

Does this mean FUG can't call his girlfriend? Or watch Jeopardy?

guess i should go help DH sort thru the mountains of laundry:rolleyes1 ; apparently while i slept he managed to wash several basketfulls...all i wanted for Xmas was my laundry done:woohoo:

Sleep more. Maybe the laundry will be all done! :rolleyes1

I'm all catched up. My tummy is still hurting today. I wish whatever is unhappy in there would just get on out.

I'm going to go watch the Weebles dvd with Daniel. If that doesn't make me sick, nothing will...

Does this mean FUG can't call his girlfriend? Or watch Jeopardy?

Ha! How did you know I have been working with FUG all week?! Hate that guy! Sadly, Jeopardy is not affected, because the way things are set up, that is something that cannot be tracked. He can call is girlfriend on his cell, or she can call him on our POTS line, but not on our toll-free line. POTS line: not tracked. Toll-free line: tracked!

Hope your tummy is better! It's no fun being sick over the holidays!

Just ordered Mary Poppins on Broadway tickets for mom, me, and sissy for a girls' night out in February. Wish Mike were into that. Thankfully, I have a family who loves plays, and we live abut 75 minutes from the city. Bonus!

Glad it IS the DIS that's slow. Thought my 'puter problems were continuing.

Barb - I don't know about where you live, but here its really hard to find a job with flexible hours. I had the perfect job for 10 years. Than the company was bought out and they got rid of all the part timers....I was able to go into work anytime I wanted between the hours of 6am to 11pm, as long as I got my 20 hours in. I still miss it. Been at the new job 3 years now and have to work 9 -3. Heaven forbid I need time off to take care of personal stuff like dr's appts. Once I get James graduated and settled into college this fall I might start looking for a new job. The only thing keeping me here is that the office is 1 mile from home and just blocks from the high school and ice rink.

Mac was taking notes for you while you were gone. :thumbsup2

YAY!!!

My stomach is still hurting, but I'll try to get the story about The Stinkys out.
My stinky was on the phone with me today. Might be in the office tomorrow. Think I'll take a sick day.

:welcome: :welcome: Welcome back Jodie! We missed you! Don't worry about catching up! We can't wait to hear what you've been up to! (Probably a lot more fun than what we've been up to!).

Yeah, we should get our bosses together. Or preferable, ship them off somewhere together! Although boss had a bad day yesterday. His father-in-law passed away. This wouldn't be that big of an issue, except his son is getting married Saturday! :sad2: So now they have to cram the funeral in tomorrow, rehearsal Friday and wedding Saturday! Am I really a horrible person for just being relieved that that means he won't be in for the rest of the week? :scared: I'm definitely coming in Friday to make up some "boss-free" hours!

On the home front, DH spent the entire day yesterday traveling to...NOWHERE! First his flight from GB to Milwaukee was cancelled for mechanical reasons, after they all boarded, the plane broke, and they had to walk across the tarmac outdoors at 5:45am because they couldn't get it back to the gate. Then his flight from Milwaukee to Dayton was cancelled anyways. He managed to get on a later flight to Milwaukee, but when he got there all outbound flights were cancelled. He spent several hours before finally getting a rental car to drive back to Green Bay yesterday evening. So now he gets to do it all again next week instead! After being in St. Louis for the weekend. Just how we wanted to spend the week before Christmas!;)

Sharon - I had a job like that before we moved here. But it was even better because I didn't have to get the hours in, just get the job done. Fortunately the person doing the job before me was a complete moron. She did the job (primarily admin) full time, then they hired me to do just phone calls (follow-up/appointment). I was supposed to work 15 hours a week. Then they fired her for not doing her job (throwing everything away instead of dealing with it  ) and I said I'd take over her job as well. Between her job and mine, I still never worked more than 15 hours a week, and usually closer to 10! Don't know what she was doing full time, but it sure wasn't working! :confused3

I got a cute little box yesterday and was all excited that it would be my ornament - :cool1: - but it turned out to be a package from my inlaws instead :sad1: . Well, not that it's horrible, but you guys understand!

Barb - as I read more, you can ship your boss off with the rest of them if you'd like! Hope it goes better for you this week! Did I mention I don't have to deal with my boss this week? :woohoo: (Okay, I'm a cold, cruel person, but he's not on my A list lately for those of you who couldn't tell!).

Okay, I know I'm missing a lot, but I have to go to work (sigh!). Hopefully there will be some down time later I can try to catch up more!

Morning all!!!!

JODIE!!!! - Welcome back!!!:yay: :yay: We have missed you around here  Jim decided that our little 2nd honeymoon would be better served in the Poconos....with the kids :confused3 Lets just say they were a little annoying one day (ok - ALOT annoying) and I turned and said "yeah, this is MUCH better than being in Florida by ourselves" :lmao: :lmao: Got no response, so either he was ignoring me or didn't hear me.

DM - did you wind up getting sleep? I sure hope so!!

Marcie & Barb - ugh, I hate bosses and that is one reason I do not miss working outside of the home......have not had a "real job" in 8.5 years

Tricia - hope you are feeling better really soon

Janet - I agree, go back to sleep and maybe all of the laundry will disappear

:upsidedow :upsidedow everyone else, stay warm and have a great day!!!

I think we need to assemble a sled team

and go find Lori!!! but seriously, I hope she is ok

I started to say that I hope the strike is over by then, but then I remembered that the stage hands already settled on a new contract. We only get to see the shows that tour, however, I must say that I LOVE to see the shows at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Such a wonderful old building. Nothing like the Fabulous Fox! popcorn::

My stinky was on the phone with me today. Might be in the office tomorrow. Think I'll take a sick day.

Sounds like a good reason to stay home to me!

I've heard of a "cruise to nowhere" (I've even taken one), but not a "flight to nowhere". Poor Royce. Maybe this is payback for all those business trips that coincided with football games? :scratchin

Nothing says "Happy Anniversary" like a day with annoying kids.

Power is still out for a lot of Okalahoma. I just read this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071212/ap_on_re_us/winter_storm

I hope Lori is okay. I'm sure she'll check in here with us when she can. The waiting is terrible... :guilty:

Okay, checking in again here from work. Guess I should go back and do some of that multiquoting stuff! For now though I meant to tell you guys that theoretically the church has FINALLY (it only took 7 months) gotten DS12's work permit approved so that they can actually start paying him. Not like he'll be seriously rich or anything - for 3 rehearsals, then arriving early and rehearsing another 1.5 hours before the mass, then playing the mass he gets a grand total of $20. But still they already owe him for 5 masses, so it will be something! Had to fill out all his W-2 or W-4 or whatever (I get them all confused!) forms today and he might actually get a paycheck next week. I'll let you know!

Oh, and here's a funny boss story for you guys. Yesterday we got some propaganda in the mail about an agents' award weekend you could qualify for. My boss was opening it and read it aloud and asked "Where's the 'happiest place on earth'?" I answered "Disney" (duh!) and he was just amazed I knew that. Then he went on like "How can they say that? Not just the happiest place in the country, but on the entire EARTH? How can they justify that?" Guess he's not on these boards that often!

Hi all-
I am sorry I haven't been here :guilty:
I'm alive and well. Just busy.
I really haven't had much time to read up a few pages.

We have had freezing rain here overnight and today on and off. .

Just wanted to say hi to Rose and hope your weather is improving. I know it's been pretty bad down in that area (and Mac too). Hang in there - the weekend is coming!

A friend just sent this to me. It didn't exactly make me jump for joy!
I thought I would pass along the good or bad news depending on where you live. Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger!

snow121107.png

On the plus side Rose and Mac, we don't appear to be in the shaded region at all for this weekend's storm! That can't possibly be right?!

so what is everyone doing for christmas?

We're doing the not very exciting family/presents/church thing. Not going anywhere or having anyone come in so it will just be us. Do you believe that since we're closing early on Christmas and New Years' Eves, that I have to make up the hours I'll miss because I can't work them? I'm going to come in early those days and work as many hours in the morning as I can, but I still have to make up 4 more hours that I can't possibly work because we're closed! That's why I'm coming in this Friday, but at least the boss won't be around!

Had to visit ships dr. on Saturday; was running a fever & bite was now a good 4 inches, hot & sore. He deduced i had a bug bite:rolleyes1 of unknown sources (flea, mosquito - who knows); that was "massively infected". fyi, trip was a weiner! despite the bugs, would go back in an instant.

Wow Janet - that sounds like a miserable experience. Glad you were still able to enjoy the rest of your trip. I haven't heard much good about ship doctors and you're not improving my opinion of them much! Are you going to do a trip report on CC at all? (Or here?) I'd be interested in reading a review of the whole trip! If not, a summary would be nice! What did you think of Carnival, the ports, the ship, the food, etc.? (Bugs notwithstanding!) What did DS end up doing and enjoying?

What IS up with the slowness lately? :confused3

HOPE LORI IS OKAY :scared:

I guess I may be strange, but I haven't noticed any additional slowness with the DIS lately? :confused3 It's been fairly slow for months, but I assume part of that is my computer. But I haven't noticed any difference lately, and actually it seems to even be a bit quicker than normal for me!

And I look forward to hearing from Lori too - hope they get their power back soon if it's out and she can come regale us all with stories of the ice! (And of course that everything's fine - we're keeping her in our prayers!)

Just ordered Mary Poppins on Broadway tickets for mom, me, and sissy for a girls' night out in February. Wish Mike were into that. Thankfully, I have a family who loves plays, and we live abut 75 minutes from the city. Bonus!

DH grew up in upstate New York and always used to go down and see shows in the city. Don't get much of that here in Green Bay! Have fun!

Sounds like he has the makings of a lawsuit. Sue Disney for false advertising over the "happiest place on earth" slogan. I've seen some frazzled parents with screaming kids at the parks who would join in on a class action real fast.

just wanted to say sorry to everyone when I have been posting lately was in all caps and not shouting but the caps sometimes gets stuck.
so sorry if I made anyone think that and thats what happens when you buy from Dell and the warranty runs out:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
