Hello all ....

Feeling better today . It was too many onion rings I am sure but I did not get sick just a little green.:crazy2: .

Here is a question for everyone . Does anyone here have the Sleepnumber bed? I am looking into it and it seems so much cheaper on QVC then in the stores but I have read different reviews and only know of two people near me that have it . Both love it but I figured I would ask and see if anyone else had an opinion on it.

Glad you are feeling better.

I have wondered about that thing myself. Let me know how you like it if you get one.

Yeah and I did get the kiosk figured it would be the better way to go and you homies are always helpful:thumbsup2

Just make sure you take the cc that you charge them to with you. I do believe you have to use it to pick them up.

I do the SAME THING! I will double and triple check the most obvious things.

Joshua is still seizure free and we'll see the Pediatric Neurologist on Feb 8th.

Carol had to have her surgical drain replaced last week, but goes back for another checkup this week. Maybe to get her drain and staples removed, depending on how she has healed. I'll be heading over there to see her soon.

But do you look for them over and over again while in the car on your way to the airport. I swear I checked to make sure they were there, five minutes later had this panick feeling come over me and checked again and did it two or three more times. And we did not stop anywhere in between or get out of the car. I just all of a sudden would feel like they weren't there even though they had been a few minutes earlier. "Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't"!

I'm glad everything is going good with them. Tell Carol your buddies in the box say hi!!!!

I have been know to check our boarding passes, which were printed at check in, multiple times while sitting at the gate. What is going to change? Where are they going to go? :confused3

I just thought of something. Do you guys want to see our business? I know some of you have no idea what I'm talking about when I mention RVs and whatnot. I was going to update our website tonight and I realized that I've never shown it to y'all. Don't laugh at the name. My inlaws couldn't spell.

http://www.kamperkorner.com/

The inventory is off. I haven't added the 2008 units we have, but you'll get the idea.

Checking in.

Lawrence - enjoy your planning for your Uni trip. I'm hoping for a summer Uni trip myself, but no plans yet.

Mary - I also want to know about the sleepnumber bed. Any help homies?

Marci - Recess has been cut drastically in our schools as well. No recess after 4th grade.

Rose - congrats on Pinewood. My DS is named Matthew as well and we did the cub scouts as well.

Rose and Tricia - I think your boys will love Medieval times. We did this in Myrtle Beach and DS was about 8-9. Pretty good show.:cool1:

Katie - We got maybe an inch of snow overnight. Just a light dusting on the roads.

Tricia - I will be viewing your website after I sign off here.

Don't tell Jennifer I call our tax stuff "crap", okay?
Ahem, I heard you from all the way down in Georgia.

Tricia - nice website. Do you mantain this as well as do all the bookkeeping? Busy girl!

Trailers are pretty big around here as everyone "camps" alot. We have many folks who purchase a trailer and haul it once to a camp where they rent a lot. The trailer usually doesn't move and stays there yearround.

The hubby and I want to see the USA in an RV when we retire. We'll come see you.

Tricia - do you rent RVs for weekly trips or do you just sell?

:)

Well I went to the school Friday & talked to Ally's teacher. She said she could read in the 800 - 1100 range and showed me a few books in her classroom in that range that were acceptable to me. She also gave me a copy of the entire test list so I could look through it and see what was available.

I was okay with it when I left but the more I looked at the list the more I realized that the books in her room were most of what would be okay with me. There are a few others that she can read including Black Beauty, Bridge to Terabithia and The Lion , The Witch & The Wardrobe - the Narnia book. Other books in her range are the books from the Lord of the Rings series, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the Harry Potter series and things like that. Thankfully The Scarlet Letter is in the 1300 range so we don't have to go there.:rolleyes1

Anyway, I will pick a few of them so she can get her test grades and then she can go back to reading what she wants to. The good thing about it is these books have very high point levels attached to them so she doesn't have to read more than a 2 or 3. I think we can find enough that are acceptable for that.

I give up. I'm never going to catch up. I realize we have a limited number of free passes for this, and I fear I have used most of mine up already.... (And I know Alison gets this! HI!) ...

but, I am glad this situation is straightened out, Lori. I was hoping Ally's teacher wouldn't be indignant and obstinate over your concerns and requests.

Jennifer, I can't wait to hear what our "rebate" checks will be. Why do they call it a rebate? IT'S MY MONEY in the first place!!!!

Tricia, I am glad to hear that both Joshua and Carol are doing well for the moment! I did check out your website. You carry some posh stuff! My old boyfriend's dad had an RV, but not nearly as nice as yours. Do you need a special license to drive an RV? I would be scared to drive one. I would also be scared of the cost to fill the tank!

Barb, keep us posted on Ryan's SWAT invite!

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

It's garbage night here, and Mike and I are using the opportunity to do some heavy duty fridge cleaning. He's starting without me and calling for the Windex now. Better get my fat bum off the 'puter and on the kitchen floor to help. Mike went through a stage where every time he went to the grocery store, he bought me cottage cheese. I have to be in the mood for cottage cheese and I shudder to think how many containers we're going to find in the fridge!

BBL.

I will cause if I don't then we will go hungry cause the card I used also will have the money on it that we will use to eat:lmao: :lmao:

I have finished and only thing I am worried about is that RPR has our ressie but still has not taken the deposit off my cc.:confused3

:goodvibes hi all

i concede to barb, don't have the stamina or wit, half or otherwise to post much

quick check in, i'm thinking i perchance do have pneumonia again; chest hurts; coughing like a fiend thru the night, no get up & go; taking the Rx of cipro i keep on hand; going to crawl back under my rock soon

i watched a bunch of godfather movies again too on one of the cable channels whilst i hacked my lungs up last night/early this am;) ; micheal corleone is hot, hot, hot. That's what got me in trouble the 1st time, good looking bad guy lol. The ink wasn't dry on 1st decree before i dived in head 1st, i like being married:) . Hard to tell your kids to do the right thing when you're shacked up:eek: (as my ma so graciously put it). PA has 2 year no fault; we had both moved on & were raring to go. Interestingly the property settlement drug out another year.:confused3

jennifer - if the wind is @ my back & traffic isn't snarled on the parkway; i can be @ the track quicker than you. thanks for the input, i was starting to think i did deserve the creepy mom award lol. As places go, thought it was swell. Was thinking of surprising DH with an overnight either there or Oglesbay (have never seen it) when youngest DS goes to MCO with school end of April. Have u ever stayed @ the onsite hotel @ Wheeling? It's rather pricey imo

fyi, do u have any idea if the tax stimulation plan is referring to receiving funds for children or dependents? Just wondering, a dependent can easily be someone other than a child on your tax return?

rose - hooray to your son:woohoo: bet he's proud

i've always refused to do medieval times & dolly partons horse thing/arabian nights for 2 reasons #1 don't want to eat with my hands #2 don't want to eat while horses poop in front of me:confused3

off to take stock of the kamperkorner:thumbsup2

Tricia - Great site. Do you have the capabilities of special ordering motor homes? When I get rich I'm going to buy one so I can drive it to my hotel in Florida!

I have also been known to check & re-check boarding passes. I have to re-check the time, have to make sure I didn't drop them, etc.

Jodie - You can have all the free passes you need.

The teacher was good about it. OF course I knew I would get what I wanted no matter what.

Lawrence - You better make sure you take that card then. Don't want to go hungry.

Well homies now I ordered our tickets and now the only thing I worry about is the ressies for RPR cause they still haven't took out a deposit yet.:confused3

have you received the email confirmation from the hotel yet?

if you have not received it and it has been 48 hours, call universal resorts and talk to them.

tell them you need to be reassurred all is in order and you need a copy of that confirmation in an email.

ask about the deposit also.
sometimes it slips thru and you pay the entire room costs when you check out.
in my numerous stays there, that has happened to me only twice.

loews did not take the deposit out for the one night but my ressie was still good.
that is why you need the confirmation email from the hotel.

The way I take it or understand it is families that make $75,000.00 and under and file jointly get $600.00 back plus if they have children then they will also get back $300.00 per child and just like Barb said hope this is not one those deals like they did a few years ago and they count it toward your income next year:scared1:

Janet - You better go in for a breathing treatment if you think you have pneumonia. Don't mess with it and end up like I did last winter.

I have to let of some steam.

I just called the ex-sil & his mother to talk to them since the first time this all started. He quit his job that he had when they first started garnishing his checks so now he pays it directly. It was divided in to 26 payments based on what it would have been for the year. He says he paid twice already this month and does not owe anymore. So I decided I would call and give him some advice. Things got very ugly, got to talk to his mother and call her the b!tch she is. She hung up on me three times but I just kept calling back. Told the idiot he might need to check with his lawyer on what he owes & get it paid because we are not putting up with any more of their crap. Also told them we are going back to what the court ordered, he can call every other day @ 6 exactly to talk to Madison and that is it. No where does it say his mother can call so Miranda will not be answering her calls any more. I was so mad by the time it was over I was shaking.

He has not paid any of the court ordered money for the bills they had either. So he now owes 3 months of that, soon to be 4. So I finally just told him to call his lawyer because if he does not pay what he is owed we will be filing contempt charges and this time we will not be backing down and dropping the charges. He will be going to jail next.

I also want her to go back and try to get visitation changed so that it is court supervised instead of supervised by his mother. They are constantly bad mouthing Miranda around Madison, Madi has come home and said that daddy & grandma were fighting and grandma hit daddy, and it just goes on. They are completely unfit to be around her & I don't care any more if they get to see her. She has gotten to the point that she doesn't want to see them.

Miranda's lawyer is doing nothing. She hasn't through the whole thing. I think she needs to file a complaint against her with the bar assoiciation. She has been calling & leaving messages & emailing her for weeks and has not heard a word back from her. Ya know some times you just want to go choke the sh!t out of people.

Wish I could say I feel better getting that off my chest but I am just getting madder.

All right. I need everyone to back away from the keyboard and stop posting so I have a chance to catch up...
I was thinking the same thing Jodie!!!!! I have to make it a point to get on here more than every other day!! I need to either stop working as much, or create a 30 hour day

I have a question for our local Florida homies. What have you guys heard about the new Sea World water park, Aquatica? I am thinking about taking Ally this year.

So if any of you visit it after it opens in March I would love to hear your opinion. It looks like a place a 9 year old that loves animals would love!

Ahem, I heard you from all the way down in Georgia.

Sorry.

Tricia - do you rent RVs for weekly trips or do you just sell?

:)

Yes, I maintain the website when I have time. That's why all the disclaimers about "call first". ;)

We don't rent. Carrying insurance on rental units is too expensive for an outfit like ours. There are very few RV rentals left because of that. I think there are some listed through the Go RVing website, but I haven't checked that in a long time.

Most of our "campgrounds" are developed where you rent or own a lot and then park a trailer on it. Very few of our customers actually haul them around for vacations or weekends.

If you are talking about a standard motorhome type RV, like say a familiar Winnebago... then, no, you don't need a special license to drive it.

If you are talking about a bus-type motorcoach, like say the kind that a famous singer would travel in... then, yes, you need a CDL.

quick check in, i'm thinking i perchance do have pneumonia again; chest hurts; coughing like a fiend thru the night, no get up & go; taking the Rx of cipro i keep on hand; going to crawl back under my rock soon

Oh, Janet. Don't mess around if you think it is pneumonia.

tricia - VERY COOOOOOL:cool1: :thumbsup2

u should sell harley's too;) :rotfl:

There are plenty of motorcycle places around here. It is very popular on our winding mountain roads. That's why we sell the "toy hauler" style RVs.

I have to let of some steam.

She has been calling & leaving messages & emailing her for weeks and has not heard a word back from her. Ya know some times you just want to go choke the sh!t out of people.

First off, you have every right to be mad.

Second, tell her lawyer to get off her butt. You can require that child support be paid through the courts. As in, he pays the courts, the courts pay her. That way, when he is late, they automatically notify him that he has X number of days to come current or a bench warrant will be issued.

At least, that is what someone I know did here. I guess all states may not be the same, but I'd think that was an option everywhere.

I was thinking the same thing Jodie!!!!! I have to make it a point to get on here more than every other day!! I need to either stop working as much, or create a 30 hour day

If you figure out where those 30 hour days are, let me know. ;)

As far as our business goes, we only sell Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels... the kind that you hook to the back or bed of a truck. We don't do motorized very often as they are usually more trouble than they are worth. There are also small tag alongs called Pop Ups (some areas call them Fold Downs, whatever). We don't do those either. Or the hybrids that are a tent/rv combo. Motorhomes also come in different sizes, from Class A (conversion van) to Class C (full truck chassis). And I'll shut up now because nobody really wants to know everything I had to learn. I don't even want to know everything that I had to learn.

Hey Penny, Wendy, Jennifer, Damo, MF, DM, Lawrence, Todd, Sharon, Mike, Rose, and Fred!(I know the ! is silent.....:rotfl2: ) Hope I didn't miss anyone.
Hi there Alison!

Hey! Who you calling a porn actor?
You're right Tricia...sorry...You looked so...shall we say..."perky" in that nightgown. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Glad to know that for future reference for us few guys here ;)
We are the silent minority. :rolleyes1

There is a rental place here. We have rented a few times to join dad at the lake. Guess I will have to get a CDL when I get rich! You will special order for me, won't you?

This lawyer was highly recommended too! :headache: Supposdely she is a great child advocate. Guess she is only good if the child is already injured because she sure hasn't done anything for Miranda & Madi.

His support was originally set up to go through DHS (Oklahoma's version of CPS) but he quit his job, or most likely got fired again, and it has not been fixed yet. Personally I would just like to give her the money and let him get locked away. Piece of sh!t!

Hi there Alison!

You're right Tricia...sorry...You looked so...shall we say..."perky" in that nightgown. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We are the silent minority. :rolleyes1

Tricia in a nightgown?:scared1: Better not let Brad see that!

Todd you guys need to speak up more often. We don't want you to be silent.

Our lunch room for the younger kids even has that problem. It is for 1st - 3rd grade. They start going to lunch at 10:45 and the last lunch period is 12:30. I can't imagine those poor kids that have to go at 10:45, hated it when Ally had that time. You know they have to be starving by the end of the day.

Lori - if it makes you feel better, when they added in the 4th lunch at our high school, they had to put it even earlier. Matt had lunch last semester at 9:55! :scared1: Makes for a REALLY long day when he had soccer after school until 5! This semester he has the second lunch, which is at 10:47, and he considers that to be great!

Well I went to the school Friday & talked to Ally's teacher. She said she could read in the 800 - 1100 range and showed me a few books in her classroom in that range that were acceptable to me. She also gave me a copy of the entire test list so I could look through it and see what was available.

I'm glad you worked this out. There are harder reading level books without having much more mature themes. I'm glad the teacher had some of them in the room and that it wasn't up to you to dig them out of the woodwork for her!

This reminds me of (Yet another! :rotfl: ) story about this. Eric was in the third grade and had a teacher who can nicely be described as a witch. EVERY single day for homework they had to read for 20 minutes and write for 20 minutes in a journal about the book they were reading. Well, what they did was never good enough. If he told about the book, he got criticized for not telling what he thought would happen next. If he did that, he got criticized for not telling his "feelings" about what had happened. Etc. You get the idea. Got to the point that he was spending an hour a day on it and still it wasn't good enough. At that point, he (and moreso I!) just gave up and went back to 10 minutes or so. Rather he do a half-a$$ed job and know why he's criticized than do his best and still be put down.

Anyways, there was a point to this story. He also had those "lexile ranges" and as a result was reading Jurassic Park. Yes, the original by Michael Crichton, which was a REALLY hard book for him to get through. Took him a whole month (of course he was 8 at the time!). The day he finished it, he decided to read a new Magic Tree House book that we'd gotten in the meantime and he hadn't had a chance to read. In one day he read the whole book and wrote a summary/journal entry on it.

The next day it had scrawled across the entire page in red ink "MAGIC TREE HOUSE!!! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!"

Sorry, but I thought a kid spending ONE day reading a book for enjoyment that was actuallly at his age level after he'd spent a month working so hard wasn't too much to ask for?! Guess I was wrong! :confused3

Hello all ....

We've gone to hotels several times that have had it and really didn't care for it. I think some of it may be if you're a slightly obsessive type, you can't stop fiddling with it! Maybe if we had one long term, you'd know your number and never worry about it. But at the hotels, I'd just lie there going "it's too firm", then "no, now it's too soft, maybe firm was better". You get the idea! Anyways, my point was to look for Radissons in your area - most of them have rooms with them (at least around here) and it might be a way to get an idea (and a night out?!:lmao: ) We also went to a hotel that advertised the tempurpedic (sp?) beds and decided we really didn't like those either - we both ended up covered in sweat (and no, not for "other" reasons ;) ). For whatever reason, we felt that those beds seemed SO much warmer and not "breathing" like a normal matteress.

Mary - I also want to know about the sleepnumber bed. Any help homies?

Marci - Recess has been cut drastically in our schools as well. No recess after 4th grade.

Yeah, but here they have the recess in order to get them out of the way!

And as far as weather, just came in from shoveling the mountains of snow so that when we get our next snowfall (tomorrow night?!), there's somewhere for it to go.

Right now we have a "special weather situation" warning. Warning of mixtures of heavy rain, freezing rain, cold fronts, snow storms, and subzero temperatures all within the next 48 hours! Supposed to be a high of 44 tomorrow and 8 on Wednesday with every form of precipitation in between!

I was just out shoveling snow and it seemed beautiful out. You know you've lived in Green Bay too long, when you then come in and look at the weather and it's currently 19 with a wind chill of 10 and it seems warm!
