no it didn't...i see it!

It's not working on my screen.:confused3

this post i read on the chicago thread.

carolannC is one of the dis moderators that posts on that thread.

this was her post today:

But I am hoping to get back into my regular routine and post more frequently here.

I thought you all might be interested in this "long thread" update from Webmaster Alex. This is what he has to say....

The experiment with removing the long threads surprised even us! As you can see the boards are flying and there were no other changes made. Because of that we need to find a way to deal with this issue. We want to see what happens on Monday, which traditionally is our busiest day of the week.
I want to assure everyone that we will be bringing back the posts in those threads, we just need to work out the best way to do that and keep the performance of the boards where it is now.
In the mean time please feel free to start a new thread.
Alex

What was really strange about it was that for the first couple of hours I was on that morning it was just as slow as ever for me then all of a sudden it was much faster. Who knows why.:confused3

Just picked DS and his girlfriend up at Snow Ball. He'd invited her over afterwards and said it was okay if we were asleep. Talking to her dad at pictures this evening, evidently it wasn't cleared with him! ;) So I'm on first chaperoning shift, and DH, who went to bed around 10, will get up in a half hour or so and do second shift!

I did just order DS12 a pair of flannel lined jeans. For some reason he wants them since he still (in 7th grade!) has a half hour recess each day at lunch, and they go outside unless it's below ten below zero. Guess I'd want them too in that case!

And yet your light is still on!! :lmao:

I thought he was grounded other than the dance? :confused3 Darn sure wouldn't be leaving them alone myself. How long did she stay?

Allyson is only in third grade and they don't get that kind of recess. They also don't get to go outside unless it is above 32.

There must have been a window open still and Michael was on the computer. I went to be within just a few minutes after posting that and turned the computer over to him. I did stay long enough to pull up park hours for this summer, which is what I got back on last night for in the first place, but then went right to bed.

ok marcie, i'm pretty pooped right now but did i read your post right???

you and the dh are taking shifts on watching son and his woman make out tonight?????

:lmao:

They're in the other room, but more of a "knowing parents are nearby" type thing. :rotfl: They're in the family room, so I just stroll into the kitchen every 15 minutes or so (always need more wine! ;) ). I don't actually look at them or talk to them, but I'm assuming it's helping in the "keeping their clothes on" category! :rolleyes1

I am so glad that I'm not having to worry about my 16 yo like that!:scared1:

It's scrolling again Mac.

Still not scrolling for me.:headache:

Good Morning homies!!!

No one asked about me :snooty: - so I don't need a note for my absence.

Lots of stuff going on around here that I really haven't even "digested" myself yet. Done with the taxes, going to efile today.

What is everyone up to on this lovely Sunday???

Well you see I thought about it yesterday but since I didn't have a post to quote I forgot by the time I got around to it. I did say hi though!

Today is my do nothing day! :woohoo:

Morning everyone :)

This morning I woke up from a dream where I ate a whole bunch of cheeseburger pizza with extra bacon. . . . so when I woke up, I was in a panic and looking around for any evidence . . . only thing I found was drool on my pillow :sad2: so my heart rate is normal again, and I have an extra load of linens to wash now.:lmao:

I know. . . it's pitiful:scared:

I hate dreams like that. I can just see you now looking all over for evidence.

Morning Homies just doing a quick drive by:drive: :wave2:

Hi Lawrence!

Mornin!

My oldest dd turned 20 this past week and my momma has a birthday coming up in a couple weeks, but they will be in the sunshine state for the month of Feb. . . so, I am having birthday dinner tonight. dd requested lasagna, which I of course will not eat. So I'm making a lasagna and garlic cheese bread and also a huge pot of veggie soup that I will enjoy for a week (anyone remember that skinny soup diet from years ago??).

Oh, snap. . . I forgot to order a cake :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Oh, crap!

Be back later

My son's request for his birthday dinner was lasagna. He just turned 23.

Happy birthday to your dd & your momma!

Blonde moment last night again..... :headache:

Big news in Pottstown yesterday (a town where I used to live and work and only 15-20 min from me)....

There was a big fire and I used to live and work right nearby...I know the place well..... If I still worked & lived where I used to there (Charlotte St), I would have been able to see the fire from my front window(s)

When the one article says you could see the smoke in Hereford, you have to know Hereford is 16.5 miles away! And, when you read about the dude who was at Mosteller fish market (at the Farmers Market), I used to work next to that, and live 2 doors down from there.

http://www.pottsmerc.com/WebApp/app....content=/PTM/Home/TopStoryList_Story_1485106

Here is video too...but it's not 'news' video...it's someone (local paper) shooting the firefighters in action...i thot it wuz kewl......

http://www.pottsmerc.com/WebApp/appmanager/JRC/Daily

I know it's not a big deal for you guys, but this was 'literally across the street' from where i used to live/work.....HUGE news for this area..... and "historic district"....it's a shame :sad2:

It is always so sad when that happens. That was pretty good video of the fire.

Personally...I would use electronic pick-up so you're not having to haul a sheet of paper around with you.

Me too!

Thats what I was thinking cause I did the print at home last year and the morning we were leaving I spent an hour looking for them.:headache: :lmao:

Oh you should see me when we are leaving for a trip. I am fine until we get in the car & out the drive way then I start to think I left everything. I remember one trip being in the car on the way to the airport and checking for our park tickets 4 different times. Like they were going to go somewhere while we were in the car?:confused3 Geez!

Morning everyone!

Anyone get any snow last night? I was hoping......:duck:

2 more weeks and I will be swim free!:cloud9:

Catch you laters....

No snow here and it is already 60 outside!!!!!!!:cool1:

You know you are going to miss it!

Mornin' Homies!

Hey Katie! We didn't get any snow or ice yesterday or today. It warmed up a little and it has all melted. The worst of it was on the end of my porch Friday morning....

Mac, you mentioned earlier that you hoped that nobody thought "Mr. Alison" gave me those bruises....everyone at work knows how clumsy I am...most of them have seen it first hand! What's really bad is that it doesn't take much of anything to bruise me up and I can get a scratch and have a permanent scar. I tell my DH that I must be like the princess in "The Princess and the Pea". My older DS (bless his heart!) inherited my clumsy gene.

Barb, I love the "Golden Homie Award"!!! That is awesome! You know...the first time I saw the "Brab" thing on here, I was thinking....was that Barb or Brad....so I've gotta stick with Barb.

Hey Lori, congratulations on the "Golden Homie Award"! That is truly an honor! Barb and Randy went to a lot of trouble to create that.

Hey Tracie! You're not the only homie that gets left out sometimes....I'm not around all that much and they tend to forget about me too....I hope you and the "beans" are all doing well!

Hey Marcie! I'll be feeling your pain before I know it.....the older of my 2 DS's will be 14 next month and he's growing up so fast! He looks like he's 15 or 16, but he's still more into video games (at this point) more than he cares about girls...hope it stays that way for a while! He likes girls, but he's still a little shy around them.

Hey Janet, love the song...though I can't place the original Elton John version...I know if I heard it I would. You are truly a creative person!

Hey Tricia! I haven't heard lately on Carol and Joshua. I hope they are doing well!

Hey Penny, Wendy, Jennifer, Damo, MF, DM, Lawrence, Todd, Sharon, Mike, Rose, and Fred!(I know the ! is silent.....:rotfl2: ) Hope I didn't miss anyone.

It's a Saturday night.

Who wants to join me for a Guiness and crisps?

Crisps, fine. Guiness, no.

I got a good one for you homies.
I got an e-mail from a site like myspace that I belong to but haven't been on in forever and learned my aunt wants to be added to my friends list but thats not the funny part in the subject space it said Aint and was wondering what is was about and opened it up and here was the message.
Hey this is your aint Mandy.
So I guess you can say the Hillbilly rule is in effect cause she lives in KY

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I deleted my MySpace page after getting all kinds of trash wanting to be my friend. Yeah right. They were more like porn actors trying to add me to their spam list.

Hey! Who you calling a porn actor?

RVgirl ... I didn't even want to clean my own house so sorry I won't be over to clean yours any time soon .

Can't blame me for trying. You should see my basement. On second thought, no. Nobody should see my basement. :scared1:

Good evening homies!
I'm usually in bed by this time. (We accountants leave such an exciting life)

But tonight we hit the WVU-Georgetown basketball game as we got some free tickets from a friend. Exciting game - down to the last second. Too bad, we lost by 1 point.:sad1:

I'm glad you got a night out, but sorry your team lost. I don't get basketball, but I am told that college basketball is more exciting/fun to watch than pro.

the first one don't count ;) ...which means you're only married about 6 months more than us!

The first one doesn't count? Whew!

I like the 'mindset' you are in....not a diet...a 'new' way of life....lifestyle change...and that really IS what it is ;) Once my stomach shrank, I was amazed at how little food you actually need to eat a day :confused3 I finally understood the whole "5oz./deck of card size piece of meat" thing :goodvibes

Anyhow...you are doing great and a real inspiration.....keep up the good work!! Vacation is a comin' :woohoo:

I learned that too. I found out that it actually takes a heck of a lot of food to keep me overweight.

I didn't go back far enough to quote Wendy, but I just wanted to add my congrats! I'm not the least bit motivated at the moment, but I am trying to keep up the good work with you. Dammit. ;)

Okay...since you said "don't ask", I'm askin :teeth:

Do tell about the "odd characters" tonite.... :hyper:

Whatch buy?? French toast ingredients?? What did the person in front of ya have?? I don't mind the 'shopping'...it's the 'puttin away' i hate....altho, when I come home, usually DH will put away....ya know, since I went and all ;)

I hope no boy landed in the tub or toliet to sleep....that could be uncomfortable..... :scared:

Well, the french toast ingredients were there, but just because we needed them. No french toast making planned. I had planned on going shopping earlier. Didn't happen. Mentioned to Brad after he got home that we'd need to go sometime. After dinner and kitchen cleanup and relaxing in front of the tv he says, "Let's get it out of the way." Ummmm... now? At 8pm? Okay, I guess.

Let's just say that the oddest guy I saw was wearing a tshirt (wind chill was in the 20s last night) and buying Red Bull and cough syrup. :scared:

Everyone wound up in their own beds. Then Daniel crawled into bed with us about 5:15am. Then Joshua crawled into bed with us about 6:30am. I left them all in our bed and went to sleep for another hour on the sofa.

janet, do we count the years in between the marriages or just count the years from first marriage to second marriage to today? i'm trying to decide on my number

Let me know when you guys figure it out so I know my number.

Brad & I started dating March 1, 1997. Does that factor in anywhere?

uh.... little help here you guys.....

Tricia:

Why do I always get stuck with the vacuum? :headache:

I didn't make it back far enough to quote Sharon and mention what a gorgeous daughter you have. How old were you when she was born? 12? You don't look old enough to have a grown daughter.

And, Barb, tell Bubba how proud we are of him. Just being asked to join SWAT is obviously a big honor. :woohoo:

I'm sure I missed more yesterday. My brain is still fuzzy. I'll try to make it up.

Alison - yeah, I have a 14 year old too. I tried to convince him to go to the dance with some kids as "friends" (including both boys and girls), but he couldn't get the courage to ask them. We did take a couple of his (male) friends to see HSM at the middle school yesterday (lots of kids they still knew there since he was in the musical last year with them, but is now a freshman). But he's slowly "liking" girls, just doesn't have the nerve to deal with them yet! I think a lot of it is the age difference in this state - in Michigan the school cutoff was December 1, so with a late summer birthday, he was one of the younger kids, but certainly not the youngest. Here the cutoff is August, so as far as I know, he's the youngest in his class - many of his friends are a year older than him since parents seem to hold boys back here with May - July birthdays.

Even DS12 has the same problem. And it seems like the girls mature SO much faster at that age. So a post-puberty 13 year old girl looks pretty intimidating to a pre-puberty 12 year old boy! For now I'm just glad they have friends, and am sure it will happen in due time.

Unlike DS15 for whom "due time" is becoming WAAYYY too imminent! :rotfl: No, really nothing much happened last night. I stayed up until 1, but out of there way, and her dad was supposed to be coming around then. Didn't check to see if he actually did, but heard DS come up to bed not too much afterwards. Oh, and Lori - he was grounded, but we'd told him he could do the dance and "post party". I was just relieved it was him here. Usually the parties are somewhere 15 minutes away, and the girls all sleep over, so we end up having to go drive somewhere and get him at 2-3am!

Lawrence - picking up the tickets at Universal was really easy. Just make sure you get in the right line the first time (actually there was NO line to do that, but we didn't know and stood in the wrong line twice before ever getting there!).

Mac - your tag has been scrolling for me every time I look at it. I know sometimes for me the smilies stop moving, and think it's usually my computer (or ISP) when happens!

Lori - the kids get a long recess because the lunch room just isn't equipped for the number of kids now in the school. I think they're reworking it for next year with a whole new schedule and hopefully it will include a shorter lunch, and more lunch periods. But for now, there's one 7th grade lunch and one 8th grade lunch, but 400 kids in each lunch (and I bet the commons area - don't even really have a cafeteria, doesn't actually seat 200!). So they allow 55 minutes for lunch and split them up by gender - boys outside first, girls eat, 5 minute swap, then the opposite.

But they're really pressed for space if it's an indoor lunch because they still have gym classes for the 7th grade going on at that time. So basically, the kids have to hang out in the hallways and be quiet. You can see why they end up going outside! I think they need to make it more like the high school, with 4 30 minutes lunch periods, and have more time in classes - which is what I think they're working on! Middle DS hadn't had recess since 5th grade, then we moved here in 8th grade for him and suddenly he had to go "play" outside for a half hour a day! :rotfl:

Barb
Front page news in the Reading Eagle today, looked like a bad one!

Well homies now I ordered our tickets and now the only thing I worry about is the ressies for RPR cause they still haven't took out a deposit yet.:confused3

They did a great job on the throphy, didn't they! Thanks for the congrats!

And you know I would never forget you. You're my neighbor! Think about you all the time but I know you don't have a lot of time to be here. How is the trip planning going?

Okay, I thought you were letting him go to the dance and that was it. Glad you didn't have to stay up too late.

Our lunch room for the younger kids even has that problem. It is for 1st - 3rd grade. They start going to lunch at 10:45 and the last lunch period is 12:30. I can't imagine those poor kids that have to go at 10:45, hated it when Ally had that time. You know they have to be starving by the end of the day.

Ally's class goes at 12, goes back to the class room after lunch & then goes outside for about 20 minutes at 1:30. Our 6th - 8th grade building doesn't have a lunch room at all, they have to wlak over to the 4th & 5th grade building. I have no idea how mong it takes all of them to get through lunch.

Glad to know that for future reference for us few guys here ;)

Geez, I forgot you too. Sorry Mike!

All right. I need everyone to back away from the keyboard and stop posting so I have a chance to catch up...

Well I went to the school Friday & talked to Ally's teacher. She said she could read in the 800 - 1100 range and showed me a few books in her classroom in that range that were acceptable to me. She also gave me a copy of the entire test list so I could look through it and see what was available.

I was okay with it when I left but the more I looked at the list the more I realized that the books in her room were most of what would be okay with me. There are a few others that she can read including Black Beauty, Bridge to Terabithia and The Lion , The Witch & The Wardrobe - the Narnia book. Other books in her range are the books from the Lord of the Rings series, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the Harry Potter series and things like that. Thankfully The Scarlet Letter is in the 1300 range so we don't have to go there.:rolleyes1

Anyway, I will pick a few of them so she can get her test grades and then she can go back to reading what she wants to. The good thing about it is these books have very high point levels attached to them so she doesn't have to read more than a 2 or 3. I think we can find enough that are acceptable for that.

Hello all ....

Feeling better today . It was too many onion rings I am sure but I did not get sick just a little green.:crazy2: .

Here is a question for everyone . Does anyone here have the Sleepnumber bed? I am looking into it and it seems so much cheaper on QVC then in the stores but I have read different reviews and only know of two people near me that have it . Both love it but I figured I would ask and see if anyone else had an opinion on it.

Going to clean out some of my clothes Now this is really going to make me look like this :scared1: . I could dress a small country with all the clothes I have and I still can't stop shopping Anyone think I have an issue ?? I do :rotfl: .

See everyone after a big clean through .

Hey Jodie! I knew I forgot someone...how could I forget you? I'm right there with ya! I'll never be "ketchuped".....

They did a great job on the throphy, didn't they! Thanks for the congrats!

The trip can't come too soon! I'm ready to go now...but still working on getting motivated to get back into better eating habits...the holidays did a number on me yeah I'll blame it on the holidays.... I have my ressies and my tickets....just counting down now!

penny never did come back on friday to tell us about the scan and test she had done.

oh my goodness....you don't think she ended up drinking and is lying in a ditch somewhere.........

wait, no penny should be ok.
it's gemma that has that problem.

Penny doesn't drink, but she BETTER CHECK IN SOON and with a note! I hope everything is okay.

Just picked DS and his girlfriend up at Snow Ball. He'd invited her over afterwards and said it was okay if we were asleep. I'm up to my earlobes trying to get all our business crap ready to go to the CPA. I'll be glad to hand the box over to someone who knows what the heck they are doing. Don't tell Jennifer I call our tax stuff "crap", okay? ;)

Ok wanted to ask the you homies a question.
Getting ready to order my universal tix's and should I get the print at home or the kinkos.:confused3

I see you already got it answered and taken care of, but I'd go with the electronic kiosk pickup too. Wasn't that helpful?

I wonder if my new signature will post so here goes a post to try it out :lmao:

OK it works ... got to go clean now before I get distracted some more .

Penny doesn't drink, but she BETTER CHECK IN SOON and with a note! I hope everything is okay.

Morning everyone!

Anyone get any snow last night? I was hoping......:duck:

2 more weeks and I will be swim free!:cloud9:

Catch you laters....

You'll be swim free? That sounds like a feminine hygine thing. I can see the commercial now. "Use Girlie Ultra Dry and you'll be swim free!"

Don't pay any attention to me. I think I need more sleep.

Hi all, happy Sunday morning-
Quick fly by...
Sorry haven't been here for a little while.

Anyways, Matthew had his Pinewood Derby race yest with his Cub Scout Pack(He is a Webelos ll). He came in 2nd place in his Den!!

Today, we are actually going to Medieval Times. It is about a 5 to 10 min drive from our place. I had won 2 adult admissions for it and the certicate expires at the end if this month. So we made reservations over the phone yest for the 2pm dinner and show for today. Can you believe I have never stepped foot in Medieval Times?! It's been here by me since the early '90s and we never once been there? I guess b/c it is way too expensive for our budget.

Congrats to Matthew!

I have never been to Medieval Times either. You'll have to let me know if it is any good.

I do the SAME THING! I will double and triple check the most obvious things.

Mornin' Homies!

Hey Tricia! I haven't heard lately on Carol and Joshua. I hope they are doing well!

Joshua is still seizure free and we'll see the Pediatric Neurologist on Feb 8th.

Carol had to have her surgical drain replaced last week, but goes back for another checkup this week. Maybe to get her drain and staples removed, depending on how she has healed. I'll be heading over there to see her soon.

Glad to know that for future reference for us few guys here ;)

Stop in and spread the luv whenever Mike!

All right. I need everyone to back away from the keyboard and stop posting so I have a chance to catch up...

Yes ma'am! Just as soon as I'm done catching up... :rolleyes1

Yep. New signature looks good on you! :)
