bubba is growing up...........next year he will be on the side of the adult ticket line. oh my..........but he's still a little to me.

Well....have AP's....so, I'm dreading the "not being able to order off the KIDS menu" part :scared:

DH just finished part of my christmas present today!
This cabinet is in my bedroom and he is going to make matching nightstands and a headboard/footboard! :woohoo:

TVcabinet3.jpg

Sharon, absolutely beautiful!! Tell him he is VERY talented and all your box friends are in a "gimmie" stage ;) I'm sure once the "set" is complete, it'll be gorgeous..... An antique in the making :goodvibes

we shall overcome:thumbsup2 , happy MLK day to all.

dropped off DS @ BB practice 9:00 am; he wants to go to art show @ penn state campus...the thought of putting on makeup appalls me; face still puffy - chest congestion starting to clear, sound like some old wino harumphing:laughing:

I was rootin for the Packers, too bad marci. Did ya all see the 2 bimbos in yellow binki tops, evidently fueled by enough booze to keep the girls warm. Heck of a place to get frostbite

Sharon - i cannot believe the craftsmanship in that console, your husband is an artist, u r so lucky...like the flatscreen (what size) & carpet too;) .

tricia - u always have great pics, these are fantastic; cannot believe Target did them:scared1:

marci - u r such a sweetie with the disney stuff, hope they appreciate it. You're a good sport draggin ds's GF along too.

i like small bathrooms, less sq footage to clean:upsidedow

jennifer - unless it's bobble head night, the scalpers pay u to buy tix to the pirate games:rolleyes1 jk. haven't had a winning season in 15 or so years:mad: mgmt too cheap to pay a decent salary, small market my ****. Ok vent over lol. We try & go @ least once a year; problem is if we don't get there before June they're usually mathematically out of it.

mac - imo the age of 9 as a cut off for kiddie dining as more of a guideline:tiptoe: . Joke in our family when entering a restaurant always was: "mom, how old am i today?".

barb - i'd think you'd have been questioned as to bubba's age in the past since he's so tall, def. looks to be at least 12 imo...any issues?

penny - nice poem!

toots - :woohoo: for the cool junk! do u have the groundhog who hops outta his burrow? Surprised it hasn't cropped up yet?

Before I forget..... to:

DM
Rose
KFed
Bonnie
coastermom.....

THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes....... (from Bubba) ;)

1) Happy Happy Bubba.
2)The Big Sale is finished. Profit was made. Stuff was Gotten Rid Of (which has more important).
3)It was cold and breezy, but Perseverance paid off.

That is great! Good to hear..... altho "cold and breezy" in your neck of the woods is quiet different than for us northeners

Next, one of the many, many stops we made (I can still hear the whines echoing in my head) was at the Target Portrait Studio. Here's the pics of my little men.

Tuxes1.jpg

I expect the offers from GQ (or at least the JC Penney catalog) to come rolling in any minute... :rolleyes1

And how many offers do we have?? They are SO cute....look at 'em....just waitin' to break hearts ;)

Just bundled DS15 and DH up in about 10 layers each and sent them off to the game. Right now it's negative 1, wind chill negative 18! :scared1:

They're both wearing hand warmers, toe warmers, toe warmers on their heels, back warmers and another one stuck on their chest for good measure! :rotfl: DS (who I dressed) is in a turtleneck, polarteck mock turtleneck, polartec sweater, down vest, polartec lined windbreaker, winter parka from Lands End, and a Brett Favre Jersey. He's also wearing polartec tights, polartec lined jeans and ski pants. Two pairs of ski socks, and mittens with liners. A face mask (balaclava) - but this one has a special air exchanger (like a filter) at your mouth to reduce the moisture left in it. Plus a hat over it and boot covers (neoprene rubber like a wet suit) over snow boots.

They have a bunch of extra hand and foot warmers, plus one of those "muff" mitts you carry to stick your hands in to keep them warm. Oh, and they both have ski goggles as well. I think they'll be okay!

:scared1: okay...i 'get' that you need to be warm...., but anyone else think of "Christmas Story" while reading that? :confused3

]
Oh, and I wanted to show you guys the Disney Countdown calendar we made for my kids' cousins (almost 6 and 3). They're going next month, so DS14 and I made this for them ....
Also sent them each a starter set of pins/lanyard, a handheld Disney trivia game, some glow lights and some sticker books and coloring stuff for the plane. Oh, and of course my recommendations of the best parks to go to each day and some general tips for overall! Hope it gets them excited!!

how very thotful Marcie....i'm sure they will love it and be bursting with excitement every day :goodvibes (after all THAT, how could anyone NOT be excited?)

people start the tailgating early morning, sometimes the night before.

i know....idiot Eagles fans are out at the butt-crack of dawn :confused3 WHY do they eat 'meat' and 'dinner' items (ribs, burgers, etc) at 10am??....when the game isn't till 4 or later? :confused3 I guess i just don't "get" the whole "intense tailgating" thing :confused3

Gonna toss some more pictures at you. If you are tired of my brood, look away... ;)

The snow storm that fizzled:

Now, that pic makes me think of A Christmas Story. "I can't put my arms down!"

Here we have gathering snow...

Winding up for the pitch...

And pelting an unsuspecting little brother...

And you wouldn't believe the number of people here who are determined to spell it Farve instead of Favre. DH was looking for something on ebay and the seller had it wrong the whole way through. DH emailed him and let him know he might get more bidders if he spelled the name right! (Hard to come up on a search if it's spelled wrong!)

There ARE people who go looking on eBay with things not spelled correctly on purpose..... makes them stand out :confused3 I had heard about that on the news once...people will list things purposly misspelled :confused3

Have you ever seen the movie Something About Mary? I love near the end where Ben Stiller says, "Brett Fah-va-rah."

::yes:: ......:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

question for any homie:

when you pull down the options off the person's screen name and you don't see the option of sending pm, does that mean the person is banned?
or what?

i was trying to pm someone on a thread.
i went to their last posting and clicked on their name for the menu.
no pm option was included on it.

post count too low to accept PMs?? OR....they've opted to NOT accept them  (only thing I can think of!)

Awwww, Marcie. Are those cold and sad smileys?

::yes::

Sorry - guess it's just a big deal here! I think in New York, you probably have people who are more Jets fans, people who don't really care, or people who (like Katie) are more into another sport. Here there's one sport - football. And one team - the Packers. You might find one person in 100 who doesn't support them, but that's about it. When we were in Detroit, there was always hockey and basketball season right around the corner (and both those teams were better anyways). Here - this is it. It's over. Until next August or so. :sad1:

I guess if we had to lose to a team, I'm glad it was the Giants rather than the Cowboys or the Patriots (who, as much as I hate to say it, probably would have still beat us in the Super Bowl :scared: ). I hate both these teams. But I don't hate anything about the Giants - and obviously cheered for them for last week and will be again in a couple weeks.

DH said it was like a funeral leaving after the game. Everyone walking quietly with their heads down.

Some pics, nonetheless! The guys all bundled up before the game:

Looking around the stands - not only mostly Packer green and gold, but really about 1/3 hunter orange!

Catch you all later! Have a good day! Going to be a long day at work because everyone will be in a bad mood after last night!

Who's turn is it to duct tape Penny to the couch in the lotus position and play zen music on her MP3 player?

Sharon's

Happy Birthday, BUBBA!!!! :cool1:
I just hate the Pats. Cheaters. Ok, I really don't know if they cheated or not.

Thank you also :goodvibes ....i have to be on the "I hate Pats" boat too.....it was against our Eagles in the Superbowl that they cheated :snooty: So....NO forgiveness there!

The Pats and the Giants
are in the big show
who's gonna win?
nobody knows.
Eli and Tom will be duking it out
come on, come on,
now everybody shout!
we are the friends in a box,
yes indeed.
we'll be there when you need us,
we carry a creed.
friends thick and thin
and all in between,
we are good threaders,
and nobody here is mean!
so come on, come on!
everybody shout!
we are the friends in a box,
thats what friendship is all about

1700 posts.......

man, I can talk.....well, i knew that.....now you do too
.....

GREAT poem Penny :goodvibes Loved it!! You are so creative.... lucky ....and CONGRATS on the posts :cheer2: No wonder you fit in so well with us....you're a chatterbox like the rest of us..... :thumbsup2 (except me....according to the stats, I am blabbermouth  :rotfl2: )

As MotherFletcher is enjoying his holiday - WAKE UP HOMIES! I am going in early today, as I have a few doctor appointments later today. For those of you who do not have to work today, (including Mr. Jaws and JuniorJaws) call yourself lucky and hit the snooze.:cloud9:

Tomorrow morning, I have to travel again for work. We are only about an hour and 15 minute drive away. But we will be working until 7-7:30pm and this town is "in the mountains" so they get snow, and it won't be a pleasant daily drive. We get to upgrade from the Super 8 to the Holiday Inn Express.:cool1:

Have a nice day!:)

-Jennifer

Another one off today (YAY! no HH!!!!) Hit the snooze several times  Try to have a good day.....not fun traveling, BUT, February is almost here....time will be gone before you know it ;)

Tonight. History Channel. Cool show. Must watch.

Depends on the time and topic ;)

Hey Alison! Did you get answers to whatever planning question you had? You did have a question, didn't you? Or am I mixing people again. :headache:

she did....i helped her out :teeth:

Our email notifications are back.

I had 28 emails from the DIS in my inbox.

yep...i felt that same pain :headache:

The general attitude here:

I'll catch up with you guys when we recover! :guilty:

marci - notice there was lots of blaze orange in the crowd. DS was smrt to bring his goggles. Felt bad for favre looked as tho his eyes were running constantly

tricia - more great pics. Forgot to tell you, DS wound up sitting on the tarmac in ATL for over 3 hours waiting de-icing on his way back from meetings Saturday night. (said he's never seen such antics on the roads, guess if u don't drive in it; even a dusting is a big deal?) Felt great to be able to tell him "...i told you so...". When questioned how I knew about the snow, i told him i have people.;) sounded saner than friends in a box.

Another drive by:wave: and to those feeling sick due to colds I know how ya feel cause I feel the same:sick: hurt from head to toe.

mac - imo the age of 9 as a cut off for kiddie dining as more of a guideline:tiptoe: . Joke in our family when entering a restaurant always was: "mom, how old am i today?".

barb - i'd think you'd have been questioned as to bubba's age in the past since he's so tall, def. looks to be at least 12 imo...any issues?

Actually, I DO think most eating establishments are 10 or 12 yrs, but I remember a few that were 9 :scared: Ironically, I've never had a problem with people thinking he is older due to his height... :confused3 Usually just an "OMGosh..look how tall you are!"....well, duh, I'm 5'9"

Gonna toss some more pictures at you. If you are tired of my brood, look away... ;)

The snow storm that fizzled:

Yep...you're right....Packers is all you really have up there....imagine having basketball, hockey, baseball AND football...and being let down in ALL those sports year after year.....welcome to me & Tracie's world :guilty: ::yes:: Pack fans are 'die-hard'...so, I can believe the "vibe" leaving the game.... Sux to sit outside in THAT weather and lose :sad2:

At the game early:

They look cold....but they also look like they're trying not to "look" cold......did that make sense?

I hadn't noticed all the "hunter warm orange"....they were smart!

Felt great to be able to tell him "...i told you so...". When questioned how I knew about the snow, i told him i have people.;) sounded saner than friends in a box.

 you got people??? (i use that same excuse when I know something from here ...... i hear "How'd you know that?" Tell 'em "I've got people" ;) ) ....works everytime!)

hey, no padding the post count:rotfl:

sitting here now with a qizzy stomach smelling DW cooking soup beans and hate the things when ever I not sick:sick: :rotfl2:

I'm on my way over to have lunch with Carol, but I just had to share. I got a phone call from the doctor's office. I have an appointment for February 8th with a Pediatric Neurologist! They gave me a website to download and fill out the new patient paperwork. Never had anyone do that before, but it's a good idea. Anyway, here's where we'll be taking him: http://www.childneuro.org/

marcie - here is a  for you guys....like Barb said, welcome to our world :guilty: nothing more depressing then the huge build up only to be let down in the end.......cheering for the Giants (made me queasy to say that) in the big game.

barb - what? no pics of the cake for bubba??? and for the record, kait still eats off the kids menu (she won't be 13 until April).....lots of places make 12 the cut off, haven't seen too many that were younger than that.....

DM - what was the topic? I know the travel channel has its disney specials on yesterday - watched/listened while cleaning the kitchen.

janet - hope you are feeling better soon.....I hate that puffy face/clogged sinus/mess.....get some tea and relax! and its either "I have people" or "I know these things".....gets them every time ;)

lawrence - feel better......sounds like the flu :sad2:

mac - thanks for having our backs again - you are the best :thumbsup2

katie & penny - congrats on your team winning.......will cheer on the gmen in the big game (only because of the NFC EAST tie-in :rolleyes1 )

sharon - soooooo.......do you rent hubby out for construction projects :rolleyes1 - Because I know of a certain friend in the box here who has alot of them in mind for 2008 :rotfl: :rotfl:

tricia - OH MY!!!!! What great pictures (both the Target ones and the snow fun ones!!!) The cows look particularly confuzzled :lmao: :lmao:

jennifer - be safe travelling......love the ticker!! :rotfl:

Hi all-
Can't seem to catch up at all :scared:
Been too cold in the room where our PC is set up, so haven't been on the Disboards that much, b/c too cold in the room! Wish I had a laptop :guilty:
Kids are home with me today. No school for MLK day. DH went to work as usual today.
My mom came over yest for a few minutes and complained ALOT!! She just loves to lecture at me :headache:  Has nothing to do with my dad. Just loves to lecture and put me down when DH isn't home. She does this all the time. DH and Matthew went to visit his dad yest at the nursing home. I and Chrissy stayed home and my mom came by and lectured and lectured.... :faint: She just came for a few minutes to show me pictures and then did her lecturing :headache:
I try to let it go in one ear and out the other. My mom has been like this for many, many yrs. Ok, enough venting from me....:mic:

Barb- hope Bubba had a great birthday, whatever he did. I didn't get to read up the pages yet.

Tricia- Happy belated birthday to your DH Brad :bday: :cake: party:
Enjoyed all your pics of the boys! :thumbsup2

Everyone that is sick  :grouphug:. hope you all feel better :wizard:
