metro - Tim Curry was very good in that flick too...almost as good as in Rocky Horror...let's do the time warp again
Yeah...and did you know he voiced part of Alien Encounter at WDW?

Todd, I have practiced self-control and haven't opened those games you posted.....I can't or I might not do anything else.....
Allison...that's probably the best way to be. Those Mystery Case File games are very addictive!

Ok well enough about the crabs crawling around this board..;)

But I have a wealth of nasty pictures of anatomy being eaten away by disease....if anyone wants, I can supply :thumbsup2

But my favorite, must see lectures are about contraceptives...along with visuals and actual samples...I have other teachers sit in on the classes so that they can learn.

Tricia: Glad to hear about Carol...hopefully she will be able to go home soon!

Jodie: So sorry about the tooth....I can empathize!

A big hello to everyone out there, have to type up a project for my kiddos!

Umm, and don't you think you should quit because those stupid things are destroying your health? Have you ever see anyone die of lung cancer? Please quit for you too.
I said those were a few reasons but not the only reasons I wanted to quit. I DO want to quit for me and yes...I have seen someone die of lung cancer. My uncle died when I was young but I really didn't know what was happening then...you know?

People who don't smoke have no idea how addictive smoking is and hard it is to quit. Just ask anyone who smoked and they'll tell you.

I know it's going to be a constant battle for the rest of my life but as my body recovers I hope to look back one day and ask myself...why the hell did you ever pick those things up?

I'll get off the pedestal now.

Lori, so your mom and dad are getting back together.... if it works out, it could be a really good thing ya know! I don't know them, and I may be wrong, but it sounds good....

Well, not really. Mom and I don't get along all that great, heck mom doesn't get along with anyone very well. You missed out on our mother discussion a few pages back.

Okay, help me out here folks! You were all waiting for the Southwest fares. I already booked my Midwest stuff, but wanted to see if by chance this would have been a much better deal, so I checked carefully right at 10 and 11 (not sure if it was 11 Eastern or Central time). There didn't seem to be any difference in the fares between then, earlier in the morning, and a few days earlier? :confused3 Is this because I was looking at March, and those dates were already out? Or was there some sale code I needed to have or download? Thanks for future reference! And I want to hear your story Barb!

Well I can't help because we never get good fares in Oklahoma.

While we're on the subject....

:lmao:

And speaking of having to book right on time, I was cleaning off the kitchen counter today and found DS' Road Test information. It said you can book your road test online, up to 11 weeks in advance. Since he wants to go in 8 weeks, I figured I'd check and see what worked with our schedule. Well, he's eligible as of March 2, and when I input the entire month of March, it basically just laughed at me! You want to take a road test somewhere within an hour of Green Bay? Should have booked 3 weeks ago moron!

I spent 2 hours looking up all the possible little cities - evidently if you live in the boonies of WI, there's no problem booking, but NOTHING near here. I could find nothing on Fridays (well, that wasn't 4 hours away), which is the only day I'm off. So I finally booked him on a Thursday (will have to make up hours and he'll have to miss school) morning, down just north of Milwaukee! :confused3 And they had exactly 2 time slots left for the whole month - one at 9 and one at 9:20. That's it! Mac - want to drive up and meet me for breakfast while I wait?! ;)

I'm just amazed! I'd heard from people you had to book early, but I didn't know it all booked up each day, 11 weeks out, within minutes. I guess now I do for the next kids. Why not add more testers? I just don't get it! Now he'd BETTER not fail the test, because it'll be another 2 months before I can get him in to test again!

Oops! I did the same thing but I didn't realize we needed to book his appointment. Our little office had openings though, 2 of them, when I called the day of his birthday. I got lucky.

Have a great evening everyone!

Well...I off to bed.

I hope everyone has a good evening and a great Friday!

Everything you say is sooooo true Todd. Yet, it is so difficult to portray that message to kids. I don't think smoking cigarettes is my school's problem, its more dope and booze. Both just as dangerous in their own ways. But they don't think ahead, just live in the present...so sad.

Good luck with quitting!!

I'm sorry. I am very passionate about it because I watched my grandmother die of lung cancer just 10 years ago. I heard her screaming out in pain and never want anyone else I care about to go through that. That includes you!

:
Sounds like lots of fun!

Tricia & I are both Nascar fans. Who is your favorite driver?

Well. . . Dale Jr., but I like Elliott Sadler, Mark Martin, Ken Schrader, Martin Truex Jr, and that little hottie Casey Kane. We are friends with his front tire changer. . .well, he was Casey's front tire changer, but now he's with Kyle Busch, who I can not stand. My dh is like the biggest ever Earnhardt fan, so if I didn't like Dale, Jr. we probably wouldn't be married . . . how bad have you got it???? You would be absolutely amazed at dh's collection. Mostly
diecast 24: scale, and he has tons and tons. Our bedroom is completely decorated in NASCAR collectibles. You wouldn't even believe some of the stuff he has in there. . . it's crazy!

Do you know our friend has been doing this for only a couple of years and he moved with Kyle Busch because they offered him $150,000!! Dang. . . I told my dh he needs to get out there and change some tires. . . . So look for the front tire changer on Kyle Busch's team (back of uniform will say O'Dell) and that's our friend.

I completely understand the cigarette addiction. I don't know how I didn't end up starting. All of my friends did inhigh school. They would try to get me to light them for them. My comment, I'm not putting an ash tray in my mouth, that's disgusting. That was just how I saw it, have no idea why but it was a blessing.

Wendy - Well I don't have it as bad as you guys or Tricia. I have never been to a race but would love to go. I just love to watch them on tv. My favorite is not the favorite of many but I love him anyway, it's Jeff. I also really like Jimmy Johnson & Dale Jr.

Absolutely can not stand the Busch brothers!

I'll look for your friend when race season starts back up. And man is that a lot of money! :scared1: Of course as dangerous as Kyle is a lot of that is probably hazard pay.

Well, in a way. Dad is getting back together with the first ex, my mother. I have told hime so many times that he is jumping from the frying oan in to the fire but he just wouldn't listen. It is going to be a very sad day when she decides again that it isn't what she wants and leaves him because she will loose her entire family over it. And it will do my dad in. She will be a very lonely woman.

Well...i wish him luck and hope she don't break his heart.....again :sad2:

loribell said:
Playing teams better than you is how you improve. And it sounds like Bubba handles sports well and doesn't let it upset him. Good luck.

I think that's the problem....for a 9yr old boy, he's NOT very competitive..... It doesn't bother him enough to play/do better...I don't think he has that 'hunger' to win??? Don't worry...we'll work on it :thumbsup2

all this talk about dieting and smoking is making me want to go out and buy a dozen candy bars and a carton of smokes..........

 :scared: not me.....

Thanks Barb. We'll kill her if she does.

Mikey has always been that way too Barb. But, he does love his baseball. He wants to win but he knows that giving 100% is what is most important. Don't worry about Bubba. Believe me it is a lot better than watching those kids that cry every time they don't get a hit or strike out.

Well.......
I finally got GREAT NEWS!!!!!
DH's job is going PERMANENT!!!!!!!
He just got offered the job permanently from his boss/CEO late this afternoon!! : :woohoo:

GREAT NEWS ROSE............so glad it finally happened.

So anyway, it's tons of fun and such a wonderful, wholesome family getaway. . . . we pray together. . . play together. . . stay together. Any other dirt biking, 4 wheeling, NASCAR fans out there?? (I know, I know, can you say redneck??)

i watch those boys go round and round that circle .........

Stopped by to say hi to all the homies and say my eye is doing a little better and swelling is going down slowly and DW is doing a little better but her mother is acting like stranger toward DW since she was told the home she lived in with DW's grandmother will be turned over to her and is acting like she is better than everyone and to beat it all the house is a dump .
well enough venting for me and if I don't get back on tonight everyone have a great evening.

st. lawrence, glad you stopped by and gave us an update on you.
keep using the meds, we want your cornea to heal correctly.

i don't get it with the mil ?
her daughter mary eva is suffering now with the loss of gma, maybe mom is just not herself yet.
continued prayers for you all.

Rose...this is from the movie Clue. It's a great movie and is pretty funny...in a "camp" kind of way...plus there's a great cast! Here's the link to the IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088930

I would definately check it out. I'm going to get the DVD soon!

i loved the movie clue.
especially with the additional endings.

:scared1: Now where is the TAG FAIRY???? They were a gift :lmao: !!!

nothing sez it better than crabs:rolleyes1 :lmao:

the gift that keeps on giving

in illinois, no appointment in advance, you go and wait in line for your turn.
our road test is about 10-15 minutes tops.

Ok well enough about the crabs crawling around this board..;)

But my favorite, must see lectures are about contraceptives...along with visuals and actual samples...I have other teachers sit in on the classes so that they can learn.

when you say visuals, does that mean you have "models" to do a show and tell?

Well, not really. Mom and I don't get along all that great, heck mom doesn't get along with anyone very well. You missed out on our mother discussion a few pages back.

i endure my mother. i baby her and listen and never disagree.
but she really gets annoying...............i just can't be mean to anyone.

usually when i don't like someone, i wish they would get pregnant.
can't wish that on mom.........

but when i wish people here to have a baby, i am not trying to be mean.
the other is the sissy clone of me, my evil twin that has those mean thoughts.

when you say visuals, does that mean you have "models" to do a show and tell?

Oh yes, the TAG FAIRY would eat this up. Wishing for crabs....never thought I would see that day! :lmao:

Oh and for the models, they are really contraceptives, but I don't whip out the anatomic models to place them on. My hand will do for some of the demonstrations :rolleyes1

I was so bummed today ... a few years ago, I was in a boating accident. One of the consequences was that I broke a tooth in half. Today of all days, the cap decided to come off. So, I call my dentist who I really don't even like very much. The receptionist was all "I can get you in on 1/31."

I'm all "Thanks anyway, I'll just have to find someone else. This is one of my front teeth, and I'm not waiting 3 weeks."

She's all, "Oh, OK then, how is 3:15 tomorrow?" :rolleyes1

Cripes. If I had any guts, I'd smile and post the pic here. I already have a snaggle tooth. This is on just the opposite side of my snaggle tooth. I spent the whole 2nd half of the day at work talking with my hand over my mouth. Mike says I just evened things out. I am mortified. Thankfully, I have my friends in a box to chat with!

Yep...amazing how quickly they can 'find' you an appt. when your $ is walking out the door.... Okay....exactly how many beers can we bribe you with for a pic :scratchin ...you don't have to post your whole face, just your mouth! I know! Get Mike to take the pic...he's good at choppin' off yer head in pix!

OH!!!!

The 7 day 2 park tickets are down to $79.95 now

Just put 5 in the cart for $431.50 TOTAL!!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo:

WOW! And here we were tellin everyone what a good deal the $86 ones were.... ooops!
Didn't know you needed tix Trace?

i know exactly how you feel jodie.
i had to go to the dentist on tuesday as 2 of my crowns came off........

in august 02, i was rear ended when i was at a stop light and damaged 11 teeth. all capped and it was long and painful.....

so from one former snaggle puss to another, i feel your pain.......

i need to get 2 sets of those.
thanks for the heads up!

That's a shame....hope you got a good settlement for 'pain and suffering'.... 6 years later and still in pain....yep...definately due some pain & sufferin ca-ching! :thumbsup2

(what IS it with teeth on this thread?) :confused3

Evening homies! I thought I would share a clip of one of my favorite actresses in one of my favorite movies.

Sadly...she's no longer with us but I will always remember her like this:

Okay...so, I'm guessin' she died...when and what from?? (news is just starting, haven't been able to find details)

i'm tempted myself, been mulling it over all day (dh would kill me)

imo, if they don't have a "use-by" or activation date; how can u go wrong (unless you'll be going more than 3 X year - or twice/year w/a bogo ap - if they offer it again & I recall my cyphering lol)

Janet...AP is only $99 to renew...a better deal than the tickets....unless you're buying them for someone else??? Really surprised they discounted the tickets even more.... I knew they had quite an attendance 'jump' with the last 7 day ticket they offered..... Didn't think they'd DROP the price...if anything, thought they'd make it $99/7 days :confused3 ....eh, what do I know??

Clearly, you are just jealous of how stunningly pretty I am right now.

i know i am ;)

:lmao: :lmao:

I think that's the problem....for a 9yr old boy, he's NOT very competitive..... It doesn't bother him enough to play/do better...I don't think he has that 'hunger' to win??? Don't worry...we'll work on it :thumbsup2

Barb - that was the problem with my 12 year old too. He played rec soccer for 5 years, scored probably an average of 2 goals a game (and played goalie usually for a half) and had a great time. Decided two years ago he wanted to play "travel/premiere/select" (whatever you call it there). He did okay the first year, then we moved here last year and he made the A travel team. That was the first year it became apparent that skill wasn't enough. You had to have the "drive" as well. And he just doesn't. He just can't will himself to care immensely if someone pushes him down or takes the ball or if they lose. And you have to at this level. Surprising no one, he didn't make the A team this year. But I really think he'll be much happier on the B team where it isn't life or death and no one will be all upset at him if he makes a bad play. Honestly, he doesn't make "bad" plays, but if you're watching carefully there are a lot of times he could or should be somewhere or doing something, and he just drops back. Not worth the hassle, KWIM?

sure, tell me when and we'll meet. wanna go to franks dining that morning?
in illinois, no appointment in advance, you go and wait in line for your turn.
our road test is about 10-15 minutes tops.

His test is at 9am on March 6th - actually in Saukville! :rotfl: I know nothing about this city other than where it's located on Mapquest. I also have no idea of how long the test takes, but we will be in a hurry to get back - him for school (he has both his AP classes in the afternoon) and me to work.

i endure my mother. i baby her and listen and never disagree.

Well I try, I really do but sometimes it is just too much. She called and really made me mad day before yesterday with the hateful things she said cause she was mad about something soemone else had done. When I called her today she was totally different and I told her how hateful she was. She really has no idea she takes things out on us.

Oh yes, the TAG FAIRY would eat this up. Wishing for crabs....never thought I would see that day! :lmao:

Well.......
I finally got GREAT NEWS!!!!!
DH's job is going PERMANENT!!!!!!! :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2: :dancer: :dancer: party: :rockband: :jumping1:
He just got offered the job permanently from his boss/CEO late this afternoon!!

Well...seems the new year is starting off pretty well for you Rose....see? Keep the faith...can only get better!! Congratulate DH for all of us!

I started planning our next camping trip. Yes, we camp and we don't have one of those 100,000 campers

Talk to Elmer....she hook ya up :thumbsup2

(a/k/a "RVGal"/Tricia)

Lawrence...so glad to hear you're doing a bit better! Take those meds as long as the doc prescribed them for...no quittin' early! L, I luv ya and all...but, you need to use "."s in your sentences... I get winded reading your posts without knowing where to stop/pause :rotfl2: (sorry.... ) Took me twice reading thru to figure out it's MIL having the issue w/ your wife as a result of Grandma's house being left to your wife (i think i got that right :confused3 ) .... Everyone still has emotions running high....things will settle...just be there for your wife...she needs you! Btw, has the 'uncle' made an appearance lately?

nothing sez it better than crabs:rolleyes1 :lmao:

the gift that keeps on giving

:lmao: I think I read about a job opening at Hallmark Janet :scratchin

Tracie, you know they had gone up on those 7 day tickets and then went back down, but now $79.95! WOW! Maybe this means it's not going to be too crowded this summer.... I've already bought all my tickets, but more would be nice.....

Hey girl...good to see ya!! I would think the opposite... with the economy the way it is and gas so high, I would think peeps would be lookin' for 'cheap' vacay. Let's face it, Disney is a small fortune (or your first born)when it comes to tickets and traveling there...so, if I were planning a UO trip, and didn't know better about staying onsite, I'd jump all over those tickets....so, I'm hoping you're right and it won't be crowded...then again, we stay onsite, so it doesn't matter to us :goodvibes Are your dates confirmed?? Will I get to meetcha (as Janet sez)in 3-D?? :3dglasses

Okay, help me out here folks! You were all waiting for the Southwest fares. .......because I was looking at March, and those dates were already out? Or was there some sale code I needed to have or download? Thanks for future reference! And I want to hear your story Barb!

Marcie....Southwest was releasing summer fares (May thru Aug) yesterday (Jan 9th). They normally release 11am (or shortly thereafter...shortly like 5-15 min. after the hour!) EST. Popular times book quick (cuz of the summer travel to MCO and the 'mouse') and most sit and wait and just 'refresh' the screen waiting for the fares to be up (guilty :rolleyes1 ) March has been out for awhile.... You don't need a code or anything...just plug in your cities and dates and see what they offer.... period. The only thing you can download is 'ding's...which are like an IM to 'special sale fares' offered for limited time...like 24 hours maybe??? Think of them as 'specials' delivered immediately to your desktop. ;)

WOW! That IS a bit much...that booked that far in advance?? Geez..... happenin' town :dance3: Well, the first is always an experience...now ya know better for the future

Do you know our friend has been doing this for only a couple of years and he moved with Kyle Busch because they offered him $150,000!!

 Think I'm in the wrong business :scratchin
