jennifer - forgot to congrat U:cheer2: , rumour is the asst coach passed his "job interview" and will be named new head coach today!

DH went back to work today, worked today and working Thurs and Friday.
I had some quality time with my kids today, as they dont' go back to school until Monday Jan 7. They seem to get upset I spend time on the Disboards, b/c it takes attention away from them.

How old are your kids Rose? Enjoy this time then - it's not too long before they desperately DON'T want to spend time with you! Mine might resent the time I'm on the DIS, but only becase it's time they can't be on the computer! I was feeling guilty about working later hours this year (home around 5 - they get home around 3), but seems like Friday's when I'm off I'm like "Hey guys, want to do something?" and they're all like "Leave me alone!" :rotfl:

I am relieved that they found the problem, but at least this time, insurance should fit the bill. So 3 root canals in 3 months....disgusting

So I have an antibiotic and Vicodin as my buddies until Monday when they finish the canals.

Thanks for all your well wishes...you guys are the best!!! :thumbsup2

Glad they found the problem and that hopefully soon it will all be a distant memory! Also, you're lucky that you have insurance that covers it. Think that was what finally got me to start taking good care of my teeth about a decade ago. Ended up with my first root canal (and only so far!) and not only the pain, but the fact that insurance only paid 50% of everything for that (because they basically implied a root canal was your fault). Between the root canal itself, crown, problems with the crown, etc., we paid close to $1000 OOP. Yep, that'll get your attention!

my tags changed a month ago.

i lost the UO tag but that one was returned 3 weeks ago.

when i draw the things you mentioned, i add whiskers so you know it is a cat. one of my many talents. :rolleyes1

i would have moved to the west.
screw the school system..........go with the palm trees and surf !!

if mr mac did not work in chi-town, we would not be living north.

I remember the whole bit about the UO tag, but don't remember the "post count" tag being there. And I thought the one you were trying to get back was the "Universal is kewl" one that I don't see anymore? :confused3

I also have the skill of adding whiskers. And sometimes even pointy ears! :cool1:

Yeah, I would have moved west too, but finally came down to DH's company refusing to pay move costs or cost of living upgrade and we just couldn't have afforded to live. That's why we're stuck here in balmy GB! What you said - if DH didn't work here, we certainly wouldn't be living here either!

he was robbed.
i bet the teacher was picking on him.

let's see what's wrong with this picture.
right now it is 4 degrees with a wind chill of - 12 degrees.
and that is warmer than what it was last night.

Whose side are you on anyways?! ;) :confused3

Woke up with it being a balmy -3, with a wind chill of -18! Right now it's gotten up to 3 (still wind chill -12). But I see 30 for tomorrow, so there's hope!

barb, why go to bed so early?
law and order is on at 9, new episode tonight.

I watched both episodes (8 and 9 central). Weren't they both new? I also watched it regularly for years, but lost interest after I didn't know who anyone was anymore! Fun to watch again (and to see something new!), but doubt I'll go back to watching it regularly. Seems SO boring compared to CSI! Last nights I felt like "okay, he didn't have a warrant - isn't anyone going to commend him for at least saving the girl?" Seemed like they didn't care about this, which seemed like the most important thing to me!

In case you guys are wondering why I am here...

My Sooners forgot to show up for the first half of the ball game. The second half just started so maybe they will show up for it. I am so embarrased. :headache:

Yeah, the Packers did the same thing against the Bears this season. Twice! And Michigan against Appalachian State. And Hawaii. Etc.! Sorry - who knows why this seems to happen!

Came by to say goodnight homies and just trying to recoop after DS 16 came in from his room with a light bulb and said he seen sparks and part of the bulb flew out after check and finding out the circuit breaker kicked off and was still off I told him let me take a pair of wire cutters and try to get out the metal piece and needless to say I stepped up in a chair and took a header and hit my head on thier bunk beds and landed on my knee and the whole time they are screaming are you okay dad and all I could say was hang on a minute so i could make sure I didn't run the wire cutters through me.
But ok just some bumps and bruises and did get the metal out:rotfl2: :lmao:

Okay, next time you tell DS 16 to take care of it all himself. Better he end up dealing with this than you! Hope you're doing better soon!

Congrats Jennifer. Your boys deserved that one. That kid with themohawk was quite a sweetie! Watching him, then the QB saying that they want the interim coach to be the new head coach made that ebarrasing showing a little easier to swallow. They played with a tremendous amount of heart and we were totally flat. What a surprise.

Way to go Mountaineers.

What she said! Good game for WV and cool for them to prove they don't need their old coach. Hopefully Michigan does!

Well, guys. It is a freezing morning here, but we are about to brave the cold and head out on our drive to Nashville.

I'll see you guys Saturday!

Have a great time Tricia and we'll look forward to the pics!

goodmorning all!

78 days until spring
almost 6 minutes of daylight gained.

life is good.:goodvibes

Still dark here when the kids get on the bus in the morning and when I drive home from work at 4:30. Sigh! And I won't even mention the weather (wait, I already did!).

Okay, last batch of pics for right now. These need some backstory. Our niece, who lives in Boston, is in kindergarten and her class read the book "Flat Stanley" and made a Flat Stanley and mailed it to someone to take on adventures and tell about a different part of the country. Obviously, being from Boston, my brother (and family) are HUGE Patriots fans, so we had to play up the Packers angle! I made them a nice little booklet of Stanley's trips, but here are just a few of the pics for you guys!

First a closeup of Stanley in his cheesehead and Favre jersey (yes, I KNOW it's on backwards, but Stanley doesn't HAVE a back!) :rotfl: :

Then, him and oldest DS in front of Lambeau Field:

And finally, with DS12 after too much celebration on New Years' Eve:

Enjoy - once again I'm off to work!

*godly voice*

:thumbsup2
:rotfl: r u channeling Charelton Heston:rotfl2:

can u part large crowds of tourists in the parks?far more effective than a doublewide stroller:rolleyes1

long as I don't have to pay any more than $3.00 a 1/2 gallon of OJ i'll be happy;)

as an aside, parents drug me off to live in TPA burb for a year or so before I entered 1st grade; we lived across the road from a large orange grove. Said grove patrolled by guards in a pickup truck, whole place surrounded by an electric fence and a moat (ok a drainage ditch) full of gators...must of been some very special oranges:confused3 .

My rent will be taking a HUGE dive, plus I'll be living with someone Reliable, so the bills will be No Problem. It'll also cost less to heat a 1br first floor apartment than it does to heat/cool a 3/2 house. And yes, I plan on taking public transport/using the bike as much as possible, even if it's chilly. :scared1:

Just a few months away... :yay:

Odd? I thought you'd be living with someone named "Ad"? :confused3 DM...I wish you ALL the luck in the world :wizard: with moving there....Ya see, the peeps here who already live in the cold/snow can't fathom someone WANTING to move to a climate like they live in.....we all want to live in warm, sunny FL! So, just how you can't imagine anyone WANTING to live in FL, is how we can't imagine you WANTING to live where is freezing :confused3 Make sense?? BUT, I AM happy that the two of you will FINALLY be together...that is what's important...not to waste the days given to you. Much happiness for you both! :grouphug: (even if it IS going to be freezing and 10 feet of snow!)

goodmorning all!

:woohoo: bring it on sista!!!

(i guess the spring countdown sort of 'replaces' football analysis each week now? :confused3 )

I'm obsessed with traveling, watch my dad pass before he was 62 and didn't get to enjoy his long awaited retirement travels he had dreamed about for years. DH & I are on the same page, we're doing it now when we are still healthy & young enough to enjoy it (of course, that means we eat dog food when we are retired :upsidedow ).

ITA!! Want to do and see it while young enuf to do and remember it! :thumbsup2

barb - "put it on your tab":rotfl: do you charge interest weekly or annually; guess you can make him an offer he can't refuse?

I dunno what "tab" I'm runnin'....maybe a massage or a "homie only trip" :scratchin ....don't know what I'll want, but that "tab" will come in handy once I figure it out :rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: love it!!! Looks like Stanley had a little too much New Year's! :rotfl2: Almost like Mickey's vacation to UO  So, what did niece think of his "travels"???

Love the Flat Stanley!!! We should come up with something to pass from homie to homie - I have a stuffed Shrek :confused3

I am officially tired of the Christmas crap in the living room now.....and to the genius who made Whack a Mole Tower, I am going to whack him/her straight in the face with the mallet :headache: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Another freezing cold day here. Waiting for my plumber/neighbor to come and purge the lines to see if I can get heat up to the bedrooms/main bathroom. Its just not making the trip 'round the house   I think DH froze his **** off getting a shower today!! I have the luxury of waiting for a warm bathroom.....poor guy:guilty:

I am in the midst of laundering and cleaning up the house.....the nephews are here again today - not too annoying yet ;)

Here is a picture from the day after Christmas, Kbean and my lil bro playing Guitar Hero III (she kicked his butt) and see mac, I DO have a mess of a house!!!!:

OH!!!! Remember Court had a tooth pulled? This dentist gave her ALOT of novacaine.....this is her smile about 45 minutes later!!!

Christmas2007016.jpg

She looked like the Joker - and she was hysterical laughing about it too!!!

Congrats to your team! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Georgia Tech (the college team I root for) made it to the Huh? Bowl. I call it that now because when you say Humanitarian Bowl, everyone says "Huh?" In other words, it was barely a bowl game... and then to top it off they got their butts kicked. Then to top that off Georgia (the rivals which we root for whoever is playing against them) kicked Hawaii's butt in the Sugar Bowl. It's gonna be a LOOOONG winter.

Oh, at the moment it happened, Brad was in such obvious pain that I couldn't possibly laugh. The mental image after the fact is hysterical. He didn't help me not finding it funny after by trying to tell me on the drive home that I just can't imagine that much pain. Okay, don't get me wrong... I get that it hurts. I get that it hurts a LOT. I'm sympathetic to that. But, HELLO, see the two children in the backseat of our car? I shoved those little guys out of my body. Wanna discuss pain again? Yeah. Didn't think so.

Awwww... I'm sorry you're sick Todd. I hope it passes quickly.

The bowls have just gotten rediculous. So now anyone with 6 wins qualifies for a bowl game? HUH Bowl is right. Of course it is great for the teams & fans but a little much if you ask me.

I too wanted Hawaii to make a good showing but really didn't think it would happen.

Oh yeah Brad, you think maybe she has felt some major pain before. In fact the little angel that caused your pain caused her even more.

Well, guys. It is a freezing morning here, but we are about to brave the cold and head out on our drive to Nashville.

I'll see you guys Saturday!

Be safe & have fun!

Nope...haven't forgotten but that's cold for us. :cold:

And now...I have a cold.

Feel better soon Todd.

My rent will be taking a HUGE dive, plus I'll be living with someone Reliable, so the bills will be No Problem. It'll also cost less to heat a 1br first floor apartment than it does to heat/cool a 3/2 house. :thumbsup2

Morning Penny! Woo Hoo Spring is on its way.

Top of the morning to you all, colder than yesterday here

marci - I'm obsessed with traveling, watch my dad pass before he was 62 and didn't get to enjoy his long awaited retirement travels he had dreamed about for years. DH & I are on the same page, we're doing it now when we are still healthy & young enough to enjoy it (of course, that means we eat dog food when we are retired :upsidedow ). Also, when you're DVC you must plan 11 months ahead of time in order to secure the ressies you really want; sorta like it though - gives me time to save $. We tend to travel twice a year, lately just with youngest son. Too hard with the older 2 just starting their careers, etc.; and i need someone to monitor ma @ home jik; middle DS calls it his 4th part-time job. His girlfriend told him to quit complaining about it, said she'd do it for 1/2 of what i pay. Hope to startTR soon as i get the Xmas tree down. fyi, your kids would look good in anything they wore; my middle son luvs to wear pink lol

Totally agree with you on that one but mine is more for memories made with the kids & for the kids. I want them to have better vacation memories than I do. The one trip I remember was when we went to WDW but what I remember from it is my dad and uncle being so concerned about their cattle they were constantly calling home to check on them. Would have preferred to remember somethign about WDW and the family time we had together.

Anxiously awaiting your TR.

jennifer - forgot to congrat U:cheer2: , rumour is the asst coach passed his "job interview" and will be named new head coach today!

Hope that rumor is true. The kids seemed to want him & fter what he did last night he deserves it. They made us look really bad.

Yeah, the Packers did the same thing against the Bears this season. Twice! And Michigan against Appalachian State. And Hawaii. Etc.! Sorry - who knows why this seems to happen!

Thanks for some sympathy. Seems like everyone was on Jennifer's side.:snooty: :sad1: :sad1:

You guys did have a tough year with wierd losses. Actually it seems like it was just weird everywhere. I am really glad we lost to Texas Tech though, if not we would have been in the National Championship game & man would that have been ugly. Even uglier than last night.

Loved the Flat Stanley pics. What did the family think of them?

A little excessive guarding those oranges. A most full of gators?????

It is not somewhere I would want to live either. We don't get that much bad/cold weather but I sure don't like it when we do. I want a nice warm climate year round. It is so windy and chilly here today I don't even want to walk out of the house.

 EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS ARE BACK!!!!

:cheer2:

Well I still haven't gotten any! Is there a stomping your feet fit throwing smily somewhere????

Love the Flat Stanley!!! We should come up with something to pass from homie to homie - I have a stuffed Shrek :confused3

Something to pass around between us would be a great idea.

So how big is a whack a mole tower? Are the kids having fun playing it? I always liked pplaying that game with Ally at Chuck E Cheese. Good way to get out some frustrations. Maybe I need to go buy me one!

:scared1: Your heat is not working right? Do you have heat in the bedrooms? Hope it gets fixed super fast & cheap.

Loved all the pics!!!!

 EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS ARE BACK!!!!

:cheer2:

The only email notification I get is one old thread, so I didn't even notice they were gone!

I just got an email notification of Marcie's last post. Of course it was 30 minutes after the fact but I did get it!

barb - a tbd guilt account:cool1: , i likes it.:thumbsup2

didn't spike the OJ today, a mimosa would be swell about now:goodvibes

not tipsy, just cabin fever messin' with me mind...nwaaa, ha, ha....

i'm on day 7 or 8 inside my fortress...have I whined about the cold, ice & snow lately? it's on my short list:) running out of provisions, need to jump over the moat;) & brave the elements.

believe the gators weren't employees, just like to sun themselves in the cement ditch/culvert...sort of a very mini version of the LA river they show all the time in the movies.

you'd think i'd start the TR but noooooo; everytime i drag a basketful of laundry off the pile, it fluffs back up to nearly the same size:headache: wah...load 4 (in my commercial size washer) & last for today

I'm quite fond of whack a mole, i.e. cheap agression therapy! the beans look like they're having a ball! I keep being reminded we only have 1 guitar for the guitar hero III-wi (and their point is:confused3 ).

Love the Flat Stanley!!! We should come up with something to pass from homie to homie - I have a stuffed Shrek :confused3

:thumbsup2 YES!!! Something to pass around and have a picture taken in your town somewhere...then post the pic!!! Okay...so...what do we 'pass'??? Shrek is kewl....SO "Universal" :rolleyes1

I am officially tired of the Christmas crap in the living room now.....and to the genius who made Whack a Mole Tower, I am going to whack him/her straight in the face with the mallet :headache: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Poor Jim...lucky YOU!! That sux not having heat.....here's hoping it works  (ps--you can always visit House of Bubba if you need to :thumbsup2 )

Loved all the pix....and I think there is a 'rule' somewhere that the day after Christmas your house HAS to look a mess :scratchin

OH!!!! Remember Court had a tooth pulled? This dentist gave her ALOT of novacaine.....this is her smile about 45 minutes later!!!

Got a candy cane from Santa.

Comes around on a firetruck on Christmas Eve....too cool for the kids

Christmas2007051.jpg

This may disturb some....but it was all done in good fun (albeit a bit tipsy - but lovingly joking nonetheless) I figure if the nanners having at it didn't cause a ruckus, this will be laughed at as well. We were a bit loopy and had just finished redecorating the tree and setting out the nativity scene.....well this is what happened:

Christmas2007038.jpg

You all will be happy to know that Baby Jesus was returned to his manger and all is right with the set now.....everyone is where they should be :lmao: :lmao:

I totally agree....want Bubba to remember visiting Florida every summer and the beach every summer....."family fun" times :thumbsup2 (He's been flyin to FL since he was 1.5 yrs. I think he would actually think it was weird if he didn't fly one year? :confused3  )

Thanks for some sympathy. Seems like everyone was on Jennifer's side.:snooty: :sad1: :sad1:

uh..... neutral party here... :wave2:

Barb -

Whack a Mole Tower.....by far the most annoying Christmas gift.
