Mornin' all.....

Marcie...i'd agree w/ Tricia...swimmin' wif da frogs is a no-no for me :scared:

Penny....stop by Tampa and such and then grab a flight to Bahamas from there...will that work? Kind of a 'mini vacation' before vacation type thing.... (next summer we are doing this: UO, DCL, Dad's, UO then home :teeth: ) Oh, and never promise NOT to do UO or WDW ..... :rolleyes1

Guess Janet isn't feelin' much better.....she's not been around....hope she's gettin' her rest!

WHERE THE HECK IS KATIE'S TR??? That girl is gonna git a floggin' ......
(waitin' to hear it :listen: )

Yeah, guess it's good news about the car.....gotta loves them Hondas :thumbsup2 We bought DH's last Honda used w/ 153,000+ miles on it. Put another 120,000+ when we traded it in..... good little car it was :goodvibes

I am off in search of a game for Christmas...yep...THAT has started....AND Bubba is search of a Halloween costume...since I can't convince him to wear his Thing shirt w/ blue curly wig :headache:

L8rs......

welcome to week four of football
:cool1:

today we have
Atlanta playing Houston can atlanta win? Tricia wants it!
Green Bay vs Vikings isnt this Marcie's Team
Pittsburgh vs Cardinals I have a soft spot for the steelers -as do others
Denver vs Indy the colts are the fav for the superbowl
New England vs Bengals on Monday nite another powerhouse

and the Big one for lots of us threaders-
Giants vs Eagles, 8pm Eastern.......:thumbsup2
both teams are 1-3 and need help getting the act together.

If your team is not included, please tell me.....

hmm...@ the risk of offending my buds, in my weekly poll I took:

Houston
Green Bay
Steelers (natch)
odd, just checked the Colts game wasn't on it this week?

quick check in, still draggin-cold sweats/yuck...nose so stuffed; we killed a pack of benydrl. Drug myself to the JCPenny 75% off clearance sale, got a few xmas presents; hope to have it done/wrapped by end of Nov.

marci funny hot tub story, we're thinking of getting rid of our pool & going with a hot tub instead. Guy @ store said if we get a big enough one you can just forego heating it in the summer & use as a mini-pool:idea: . My DSs have lost interest in it anyway, usually just me (for hours on a float) & DH only for 15 min. or so.

barb i told dh he needs to get on the stick:rolleyes1 with the pics. Good luck in your search. Thought bubba was going with the Thing #1 idea, he could be the hulk or spidey.

gemma - NHLs coming your way for a few games Anaheim Ducks & someone lol (hockey)

didn't metro say he was going to post a review/report on HHN?? I can't find it, anyone see it or was i trippin?

Last night dinner was fun, i didn't eat much (no appetite & even less of one when I got my entree) @ waitresses suggestion ordered steak pizzalia. strip steak drenched in tomato sauce w/peppers/onions - then they ruined it with a bunch of pizza cheese that they melted...resulting in a 1/4 inch of grease floating on the top...yuck. Brought it home, the dogs will eat well tonight after i pick out the onions.

gotta go chop up chicken wings for din-din

bbl

Just dropping by to say

THE FALCONS FINALLY WON A GAME!

I almost forgot what it was like. :cool1:  :yay:

Took the boys to a nearby state park, hiked to see waterfalls, had a picnic lunch, came home in time to see the end of the game, AND rain delay in Kansas means I get to watch the race now too! Woo hoo!!! Good day for Tricia! :thumbsup2

The Mets just got blown away..I'm not a Mets fan, actually a YANKEES fan. But it was still depressing to watch the way their season ended.

Ah well.

Anyway GOOOOOOOO YANKEES!!!!

Working on the trippie as we speak!

Goood evenin'.......

Quiet day around here today.......

Glad to see you Janet....didja try some Sudafed 12 hr? You have to 'sign' for it at the pharmacy, but man does that stuff work :thumbsup2 I hope you feel better soon..... I always thought if you had a big enuf hot tub, it could double as a pool....why not? (I like my pool water warm anyhows ;) )

Congrats on the win Tricia! Birds win, picnic w/ da boys, beautiful day....it really was a good day for you, huh? Heck, even Howdy Doody was good today :rotfl:

Well, I ended up with a raincheck for said game :headache: Couldn't find it anywhere? :confused3 However, DID pick up Battlefield 2 for Bubba for his computer for Xmas :thumbsup2 Bubba DID get a costume...desert soldier or something of the sorts. Those 'khaki/brown/earthy colored' fatigues. Was $30 :guilty: BUT when we went to try it on, realized there wasn't a belt OR hat in the bag that was supposed to be there. Told the guy and he said it was a different model/year, and he couldn't just take the hat out of another one and give it to us :confused3 Whatever....asked Bubba how important the hat and belt were, he said he didn't even want to wear the hat (which, i think makes the costume and is kinda cool, but I'm not an 8yo boy, what do I know??) So, the guy who works there comes back and tells us cuz it's missing pieces, he can give it to us for 50% off... and  . So, we bought that. We had a lot of fun browsing around the store and I remembered 'pirate night' on the DCL next summer  Well, I had no idea DH was 'into' dressing up for it.....so, we ended up with a costume for him and a costume for me..... spending a bunch more money than I thought we would!!! (Bubba's costume was the cheapest!) At the time we were shopping for pirate costumes, Bubba was not "into" dressing up for pirate night, but when we got home, and DH tried his costume on, he changed his mind and now wants to dress up. I even 'sweetened' the encouragement of him changing his mind by telling him I'd go to the Flower and Craft Warehouse and look for a 'parrot' for his shoulder ;) (Will have to figure a way to attach it to him tho :scratchin ) So, next week on the way to his dentist appt., we'll stop by the mall and grab him a pirate costume. Now, just have to let dear ole Ma know we are all dressin' up.... Wonder if she'll join in.... :rolleyes1

So, that was the big bill for the day (spent over $100  )......

Now, home to finish laundry, make DH lunch and get ready for 9pm....workout starts and so does the season premier of Desperate Housewives. :woohoo:

Was supposed to go to an all day meeting for office job today...but, since I'm "not worth more money", ..........:rolleyes1 (yep, didn't go).......

GO PACK!

Yeah, these Wisconsin teams are on a roll here! Packers are 4-0, Wisconsin (Badgers) are 5-0!

DH is trying to get tickets now for Michigan vs Wisconsin (11/10) in Madison so he and DS can go and wear their Michigan stuff, and also tickets for Lions vs. Packers in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day (we'll be home visiting family) so they can go and wear their Packers stuff!

Janet - we had a really hard time keeping the hot tub cool enough over the summer. For obvious reasons you have to keep it covered (grass even more than frogs!), and even though we turned off the heat completely (ours has a "summer" setting, which maintains it only at 80 degrees - about the temp of a competitive swimming pool), it would still stay around 96 degrees - too warm to really use as a pool for cooling off. Whenever we got a cool evening (60's or so), we'd try to leave the cover off for several hours and get it down around 90 or so, but as soon as the sun came out again, I think the cover absorbs so much heat and then maintains it that we never were able to keep it "cool".

congrats to the packers and the falcons and what the heck happened to pittsburgh....LOST TO ARIZONA???:scared:

WICKED GOOD LUCK TO THE PHILLIES AND THE YANKEES :cool1:
WHO ELSE IS IN THE OCTOBER BASEBALL HUNT ? DONT BE BASHFULL, LET US KNOW.

I made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies this afternoon.
:rolleyes1

something is wrong with them:mad:

they keep evaporating:scared:

Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I ended up not getting home until late this afternoon and will be heading back out again tomorrow afternoon. I should be back Friday sometime.

WOOHOO PHILLIES!!!!

THANK YOU!!!! WAY TO GO! :thumbsup2

We were at the game!!! It was AMAZING

14 years since they have been in the post season.
4 years of buying postseason tickets (we have regular season tickets) only to get the money refunded:headache:

We will be going to 2 games of the division series. Have tickets for games 1&3 of the NLCS and game 4 of the World Series.

Let's go boys, you have earned it!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

congrats to the packers and the falcons and what the heck happened to pittsburgh....LOST TO ARIZONA???:scared:

exactly the same thing we were asking eachother....only we added lots of colorful adjectives:rolleyes1 don't think i even broke 500 this week:laughing: that's what you get when you take the longshots. Condolences to all the other losers this week.

tracie - how :cool1: to be @ the game, good luck.

tricia - hooray for yinz guys too

hi lori, bye lori:)

marcia - thanks for the lowdown, doesn't appear to be a plan...those salesmen will tell you anything to close the deal. Go Bucky Badgers (i used to work w/someone who went to skool there)!

barb - ahem...if you are visibly over the age of 30; they don't make you sign for the high-test stuff they keep in the glass cage lol; same thing for spraypaint (no, i'm not a tagger - use for crafts, etc.) believe that age is 21? I keep forgetting to ask if you saw this re new ride @ Hersheypark. If the link doesn't work, it's on their website - new ride for next year - the Farenheit:thumbsup2 looks very interesting. you & DH shall be very fashionable @ sailaway party (we wore the free bandanas).

off to read metro's link - thanks; not sure if you follow the amusement park Golden Ticket Awards; for last year - Knotts Berry Farm #1, Universal Orlando #2 & Kennywood (my hometown park-PIT) #3:scared1: . Knoebels is listed #4 (think that's out by Barb & Tracie?) Sure hope we make it, until we got sick were supposed to go last weekend.

dr death shall be working on my last rootcanal a 3rd time today, cracked it; assume it needs a crown/cap?:confused3

have a good week!

Todd - Sounds like you are enjoying your time at HHN. I would personally rather face a mountain of laundry than walk through a haunted house. I haven't seen a horror movie since I graduated from high school (unless you count Silence of the Lambs... and I don't...). I know a lot of people enjoy the sensation of being scared, but I'm not one of them. It doesn't thrill me... it ticks me off. I *think* my hubby has finally figured out that if he scares me, I won't find it funny... ever. Instead, he might get a momentary chuckle, but then he will suffer the consequences. ;)

Barb - Those look like fun costumes. Should be a good time for you guys. With what a DCL trip costs, eh, what's another $100?

Joshua's birthday is in November, so not only do I get to Christmas shop... I get to birthday shop too. All at the same time.

Marcie - Glad the Packers won... again. Do the fans still do the cheese head thing?

Penny - Sounds like you have the same mystery baked goods theif that stalks our house. :rolleyes1

Lori - Hi! Bye! We still didn't get a note from her, did we?

Gemma - Welcome to the club. We meet at the local bar once a week to discuss our problem. :drinking1

Tracie - It must have been great to be at the game! Good luck in the post season!!!

Janet - I won't say have fun at the dentist because, well, who would enjoy a root canal... but I'll say that I hope it goes well and everything gets fixed. How's that?

I'm off to do a little shopping today. Our temps dropped to 49 last night and the boys don't have warm pjs that fit.

Janet - where are you reading that for Golden Ticket awards? Is that a different category than the overall awards? I know Cedar Point nearly always wins, and doing a Google search, I came up with the overall winners as:

Cedar Point Sandusky, Ohio 37%
Pleasure Beach Blackpool Blackpool, England 10%
Knoebels Amusement Resort Elysburg, Pa. 8%
Islands of Adventure Orlando, Fla. 7%
Disneyland Anaheim, Calif. (Tie) 6%
Kennywood West Mifflin, Pa. (Tie) 6%

Tricia - yeah, the cheesehead thing is still around, but probably not as big as it once was. Everyone still knows what it is, but you don't see thousands of them in the stands.

Ho does Pleasure beach win over Islands of Adventure!?!? They just aren't in the same category!! Been to Blackpool many times and I do enjoy it but it's just a big fun fair, nothing on par with IOA!

Hi guys. Yet another quick drive by.

I'm on my way into work, and I'm scheduled to work with FUG again tonight :( , but I think he mentioned that he wants to help his grown daughter move apartments. Whatever. I'll be busy, but no busier than I'd be if I were working with FUG.

Speaking of co-workers, on Wednesday night, I work with FUG and "Hollywood." Both FUG and Hollywood get INORDINATE amounts of personal phone calls at work, so neither answers the phone, thinking it'll just be for the other person. Or, they are already each on the phone when it rings again (we have about 8 lines at work). This means that I get to answer the phone and 1) tell them that the call is for them or 2) get stuck working a crummy failure because whoever answers the phone gets stuck with the failure. Fun times. I swear, I have never seen 2 grown men spend more time on the phone than these 2 hairbrains. I was scheduled to work through Thursday, but I think I'm taking Thursday off for a mental health day.

I swear ... it's hard being perfect at work, isn't it?! ;)

I'll see you guys later to catch up, but I hope everyone is well and happy.
