Morning...

Today is drive down to civilization day. Need haircuts for the boys and I want to get the wedding present for nephew out of the way (before the under $100 items are gone from their registry).

I refuse to say it's a small world because the song will be stuck in my head for weeks... let's just say that is quite a coincidence!

a day late and a dollar short i am.
looks penny beat me to the punch.

oh, yes, haircuts for the boys, brings back memories.
and not the best for me, hope yours are better than mine were

If ANYONE were to do it....my money was on either you or mac :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

so, should i take a turn at that now or spare all of you...

good morning homies!

Morning all!!

Marcie - glad to hear vaca is going ok......is time flying by or what?? Enjoy your time and be sure to report in when you can!!

DM - glad to hear you are doing a bit better. Still thinkinig of you in your time of need.

MF - I am so sorry to hear about your furbaby too.....  It is so hard to do - but you know in the end it was the right decision.

Barb - yea, it looks kinda generic, but they did nail Frank down.....I agree!!! Last night at football practice, they were running sprints and Frank won his first race and lost his second - yeah, I had the crying child :rolleyes1 But he just got over it and is ready to go again tonight - They get their helmet, practice jersey and practice pants tonight.....Two hours is alot of time, especially so far it has been every night this week :scared1: Ridley takes its football very seriously and they start them really young (Frank is on the 4,5,&6yo team of the pee wee league). Our HS always has the top team and what is really cool - During football season, I can hear the crowds and announcers from my deck!!!

Courtney had cheer practice on the upper field last night while Frank had football on the lower one....same thing tonight :faint:

I am just glad that I don't have all 7 kids that I watch today - just mine and 2 others.....the nephews and SIL went to MIL house she rented at the beach. Yea, another year we didn't make it down, but she left on Saturday (7/28) and called me on Wednesday(7/25) to tell me about it (ummmm....I need a LITTLE more notice - I DO babysit and can't pull the rug on the parents without at least a week's notice, DUH!!!)
Enough....I could go on forever about my kids being the "B" grandchildren

Never did get out to clean the pool yesterday......I think after my lawn guy leaves I will head on out there. Can't believe its Thursday again!!!!:yay:

Don't know if anyone is interested, but since we talked about it before...

I got an email from disney shopping dot com this morning offering free shipping for all Halloween costumes ordered today (and today ONLY). The promo code is SHIPCOSTUME.

I hope I didn't miss anyone.....if I did, I'm sorry  not on purpose! Been a heckuva day...think I'll turn in and wait for DH to get home from hockey :rolleyes1
Both my DH & DS play hockey year round. Nothing better than sitting in a cold ice rink in the middle of a hot sticky summer!
My god, I am sooo sorry about the size, and the blurriness! :sad2:
They look like **** now!

I loved the crafts that you did! My favorite is the starfish with the surfboard!

Oh, I've been washing clothes tonight, and discovered that my washer is LEAKING!!!!! :scared1: It quit spinning yesterday, and DH replaced a coupling on it, and now it's leaking.....oh joy! It looks like I'm going to be shopping for a new washer :sad2: DH said yesterday that if he couldn't fix it, he wants to get the front-loading stackable kind....I just don't know if I want to pay that much for it...my dryer still works (knock on wood)....DH is at work right now and will be home in an hour. He doesn't know yet and I hate to break it to him, especially since he wants a new TV.

Too bad you dont live closer to me, we have a 60" TV for sale! DH wants the new improved model :rolleyes1

Allison,

You took the words right outta my mouth!! Thanks for doing this. It's getting really close now. Unfortunately the votes are not cumulative. Every 2 days the person with the lowest number of votes is voted off and then the votes start all over. So, yes, if you guys can continue to vote until next Friday, the 10th, that would be awesome!!

Again - for those who may have missed my previous posts...my friend, Jennifer Burden, is in a contest at the above link (people.com). Please vote for her so she'll win.

And thank you to EVERYONE who has voted for her!! You all are the best!!!

Okay, I'm going to post a separate thread about this, but for you guys, here's my brief report:

Okay, today we went surfing and it was AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Being at Typhoon Lagoon at 5:30am wasn't so awesome, but the rest of it was so fun! I'll try to upload some pics later but I'm on DH's work computer so can't do anything now!

Our entire class of 13 people was kids between the ages of 12 and 16 (including our DS's - 12 and 15, DS14 opted to be our photographer because he didn't want to do it), DH43 and me (41). All the kids had parents along watching and filming, but not participating. Add in the fact that all the instructors were probably early 20's, and yes, we felt old! But what made the class the coolest for me was that I was definitely one of the best at it! There was one 13 year old who was just a natural at it, but other than that I think I did the best which made it fun because I was sure I would not be hanging with these teens!

The way it worked was that there's a large wave followed by a small wave every 95 seconds. 2 people go at a time. First you start on the small waves, then when you master them, go on to the large waves. Probably about 10 tries in all per person. I did 5 small waves and decided to move up to the larger waves. Wiped out the first time, but the next 4 managed to make it up and all the way in each time! Well, not completely because the kid I went with twice and I managed to crash into each other 2 of the times. DS14 taped it all with our camera!

Many of the folks never tried to do the large waves at all; both DS's managed to kind of get up on one, DH never did. At the end, TL was open for EMH and there were all kinds of folks watching us which was neat because we finally had the hang of it by then. It was REALLY exhausting, though - not the surfing itself, but you did 2 runs at a time and after the first would have to paddle all the way back out and then after the second, paddle all the way into shore (you stopped a distance out because of the shallow water) and then carry your 10 foot (heavy) board all the way back to where you'd started.

In case you're wondering how much fun it was, we'd booked back up reservations for next Tuesday, just in case we got weathered out today. Well, we decided we're GOING BACK! Heck with the $140pp, heck with the 5am wakeup, we're doing it again! In case it's not clear, it was a lot of fun and I strongly recommend it!

Okay, after surfing, they incidentally didn't make us leave the park and scan back in. They said they would but never did. We stayed (we're going to end up with water parks left over anyways) and it started raining steadily as soon as the surfing ended. We went and did Crush N Gusher (which we didn't think was that much different than many others we've done like that at Wisconsin Dells and Cedar Point) and then did Shark Reef twice which I thought was awesome as well. Rode the lazy river around and by then the kids were getting tired, hungry and cold so we got changed (still driving rain) and went to the car and McD's for replenishment.

We got to Disney Quest around 11:10 (opening at 11:30) hoping to do some of the bigger rides. Well, not sure if it was because of summer or the rain, but the line was literally around the building at that time! Probably didn't get scanned in until around 11:50 or so and by then most of the lines were huge. I took a pic of the ride board about an hour or so later with most line times around 75 minutes! Just crazy! We went right to Cyberspace Mountain and waited about 20 minutes (as soon as we got in). Did Alien Encounter and waited about 15 minutes there. Then waited a good half hour for Buzz Lightyear (bumper cars). Gave up at this point and spent 15 minutes looking for a table to sit at while DH got cheesecake. Hung at the table while the kids played the arcade type games.

We then waited a good half hour for the place where you make your own music CD's. My kids love doing this more than anything else here. Finally made them, waited in line to buy them, and then had to come back to pick them up. Left, started driving home, put one in the CD player, and...oops, it starts part way into the song. Turn around, drive back, no parking anywhere of course so DH drops DS (who'd made the song) and I off. We try to go in to find that DQ is at capacity and they're not letting anyone in. I go to the exit and explain our problem to a not-very-sympathetic employee who tells me to just go to the front of the line. I explain that the folks in line probably won't appreciate that but she says to anyways. I walk to the entrance, talk to a different CM who takes us to the front of the line and scans us in the entrance.

Go back to the place we bought it and the CM was very helpful there. Explains that happens a lot on the song he'd chosen and recommends doing a different song. Took us to the front of the line to do a new one, refunds our money, gives us the old CD (which worked other than missing the beginning) and makes him the CD of the new song for free! Pretty cool!

So now it's 5pm and we're about to collapse! Epcot tomorrow - lunch at the Garden Grill. Then Fantasmic tomorrow night before our only sleep in day on Saturday! Tuesday DH and DS12 are doing the surfing in the morning, golfing 18 holes at 10am, then DH is taking the other 2 to Cirque in the evening! Going to be an exhausting day! I'll try to keep you guys posted!
