Janet - I am planning on using points to stay at the DL hotel. I know it is a little high in the point cost but since we aren't planning to go to WDW next year it will still be less points then we would normally use. Of course I have not booked anything yet so that could change but that's my plan for now.
Good luck with your choices.

Barb - That's it. BLAME ELMER. :p
I hope the homework isn't too tough on you guys. Mine is still of the "write your name using a capital letter at the beginning and the rest lower case" variety. I'm not looking forward to the real stuff when it hits. :scared:

Hey Tricia....hope all went well today at dr's :thumbsup2 Your family has enuf 'bad' news right now..... Anyhow...why take the blame all myself?? :confused3 You KNOW you're just as guilty  As far as the homework thing.....seems 3rd grade is when they 'step it up'...past 2 years was just a page of math for homework....now we're doing social studies, reading, cursive, math, etc..... Really emphasizing the 'reading' too......so, taking longer these days....ah, the joys of things to come....

I'm not sure what to think of you on the CB! A little too much free time :scratchin ...but, thanks for keepin' us in the loop....and keep postin' woman! Get that post count up! ;)

Barb - thanks, i was almost ready to walk out of the salon when she tried to tell me my natural hair was too dark to go light:upsidedow ; finally saw it my way I suppose. I think she was just being cheap w/the bowls of color. Cannot remember the product she uses, know it's not clariol. Kept saying it didn't have bleach in it; so how can it lighten hair...whatever, all worked out. Funny thing is i think some of the younger stylists (her wealthy parents set her up in business right out of beauty school) only want to do what they think is cool/current? Had the nerve to tell me the hairstyle i picked out of the beauty book was an "old lady cut":rotfl: More CP later today, i hope.

Good for you :thumbsup2 ...and yes, it won't lighten your hair without having bleach in it. Difference is professional bleach is conditioned and buffered, so it's not like we are putting clorox on yer head :rotfl: Sometimes hair IS too dark to go that light, but, uh, hello? You HAVE pictures with it that light....I think you're right in assuming they are just lazy ....(the darker the hair, the longer it takes to lift)...so, they are spending more time on you....OR, she just didn't feel like doin it!

On another note.....one of my very closest friends is down in Fl. this week with his wife, mother-in-law and triplets (7.5 yo). They rented a house for the week and doing WDW, Universal Studios and SeaWorld. So, i just get home from work and he calls me. They are at the Studios and he wants to know what Earthquake is like. We decide his kids might be scared, so they skip it. He said they close in an hour (5pm) what do I recommend they do? I said to go back and do your favorites (they were at MIB). I happened to ask if they did JN and Shrek...he said 'no'.  I yelled at him and told him to hike his butt up to the front of the park and do them!! (Apparently they headed toward KidZone for the Barney and WW coaster first!) So, hopefully they are doing them right now....can't believe they skipped them! I'm gonna beat his butt when he gets home....

Well....off to see a kitchen about a dinner....chek ya's l8r.......

My doctor's visit went okay. The initial test results came back normal EXCEPT my bloodwork. Apparently my red blood cell count is low. He looks at me and say, "Headaches, tired, generally run down... my dear, I think you are anemic..." Great. Oh, but to be absolutely sure, they have to suck THREE VIALS of blood out of my arm to run a full panel. I'm on a prescription iron supplement already and we'll see if this helps. :confused3

I'm off to surf eBay. We have a couple of extra tickets for the Atlanta race, thanks to some *ahem* jerks. I'm going to list them and see if we can't get some spending money for when WE go to the race. :thumbsup2

Thanks Tricia - I actually hang out on the CB quite a bit, but rarely comment. I enjoyed the thread and it had several of my favorite posters on it (due to their dry/sarcastic sense of humor), Robo, Brad, and Brian! I enjoyed reading the entire thread, but thought the best post was the OP!

On a separate, sad, side note: I got my goodbye email from TGM today. It's been 60 days since the end of my trip and I'm no longer welcome on TGM. :sad1: Guess the trip is finally, officially, over!

Janet- So now you are just going to blend my name with Tracie's so you'll always be at least half right? :rotfl:

Just so you know, most of the time people call me Stacie :lmao: :lmao:

Or my Grandmom used to call me by some female names in the family before she got to Tracie: "Jen...Jul....Tracie!"

Evening everyone!

Took me about 2 hours to get home from work when it usually takes me 45 min. We had torrential downpours and tornado warnings. All of the parkways were flooded!!

What a night!

Well hope everyone is having a better night than I'm having!!!

I'm so sad. Somehow my 15 year old cocker spaniel who is deaf and blind and can hardly walk got outside and fell in the pool. He usually just sleeps all day and I never have to pay much attention to him. By the time I realized he wasn't in his normal spot, it was too late. Poor old guy. I feel so guilty. He probably should have been put to sleep about 6 months ago but I have been hoping he would just die in his sleep. I can't believe I was so stupid as to keep the door open and not think he could have somehow gotten out. He must have been wandering and kinda fell out the back couple of steps and then wandered into the pool. Maybe it was suicide. I know it was time but this sure isn't how I imagined it would happen.

:grouphug: Oh Damo I am so sorry about your dog. How sad. Don't feel guilty, just know he is no longer suffering.:grouphug:

Wow Damo - I'm sorry! I guess I'd just keep telling myself what you said "maybe it was his time". One of our 2 (18 year old) cats had a stroke last August and we finally had to put her down in April, and really, the last several months were probably for us more than her. It's hard no matter how it happens. Hopefully you got many good years in with him to reminisce on! Lots of pixie dust to you and good luck hanging in there! Feel free to commiserate with any of us here!

So Barb did these friends not ask for advice ahead of time? What were they thinking?????

Tricia - Don't you wonder why they would take more blood if you are already anemic? Hope they figure it out sake those toon.

Wish I could tickets of your hands!

Marcie - I can not believe it has already been two months! Wish I were back there now.

Tracie - I already find myself going through all the names to get to the one I want. :sad2:

Katie - Glad you are home safe and sound! Keep an eye out on those storms tonight.

Gonna hit the hay early tonight! See you all tomorrow.

Hey Damo... I'm sorry to hear that ...I was reading and crying too.... :sad1: If it seems odd your pup would go outside like that, maybe it DID mean something :scratchin Either way, no more suffering, but, still not easy. I don't envy you at this time, but I know how you feel and sending you "the love"

Tricia..ya have to almost hope it IS anemia....at least it would be treatable then

Oh yeah..and said friend, did NOT ask my help planning their trip. No ask, no help  ...figure it out on yer own and throw yer money away. (If I'd helped, I'd let them know the parks were closing at 5 cuz of HHN tonite :headache: and if they would have gone yesterday, they would have had 2 extra hours..... )...but, they make good money and she's home during the week and she said she was researchin'....so, I figured she had it all figured out.... :sad2: When she stopped by here to give us her lottery slips (so we could get their numbers for them while they were gone) I mentioned something about how her triplets will feel so special walking around WDW with their "First Visit" 'badges' on....she was like wha? :confused3 ....I was like  You don't know to go to Town Hall and get yourself one of those? So, let 'em waste time and money and when they come home and complain, I'll tell 'em "told ya you shoulda asked me".....:rolleyes1

Well....gettin ready for bed..... cya's tomorrow... :thumbsup2

Less than 24hrs.

And Damo... :sad1:  My old pup died a few months ago, so I know how hard it can be. When it's their time, it's their time.

damo - :grouphug: so hard when our furry babies pass, hope you remember all the joy he brought your family and the hurt goes away soon. I have several seniors in my family of pets nearing 20; it shall be a sad time.

middle DS was coming home from work yesterday & watched the car ahead of him swerve & try to hit a kitten who had wandered onto the highway:mad: ; evidently, it did get dinged but, visibly okay. He pulled over to check; isolated bit of road & no houses for miles. He took it off to side of road; by the time he went back to his car it was back on the highway. Yes, he brought it home. No, i didn't keep it; already have 2 dogs & 3 cats. Fed it, watched it for a few hours & it seemed okay; ate like a horse. :) We wracked our brains & DS finally thought of a friend who lost his mom a few months ago, only he & his brother in a big old house. They were thrilled to have such a cute 'lil black kittie.

tracie & tricia - like gramma; i rarely get my kids name's right either:guilty: ; i'm afraid it shall be Elmer & Stacie for me...alliteration gets me every time;)

barb - what gets me is the ones who don't ask or don't want any help when touring "the worlds" then come back & say how sucky everything was:rolleyes1 ; how can you go every years & waste all that money:mad: ? Got a mailer yesterday from Salon, new tanning beds:); she mentions the product "Scruples Blazing"

lori - just realized i was using last year's point chart for DVC, need to go to site for new one; think the points are lower. Wish they'd send a new member guide; probably when we get the dues increase.

Elmer;) forgot to mention, good luck on the anemia; those iron pills are biggies.

This will make your blood boil. Government has interns studying NASCAR races to determine strategies for national defense/terrorism, etc. They are recommending that they receive 5 different innoculations (Hep A & B, Tetnus, Flu & Diptheria).

Today show reports great offense from officials/fans. Much higher recommendation that those government employees assigned to 3rd world countries.:rolleyes1 NASCAR fans look like a clean cut bunch to me; who would've guess they're such a scurvy lot. :rotfl: jk. I'd be offended too if i were a fan. What were they thinking?

They had the senator (Mississippi?) who stands by the committee's recommendation; no aplogies given...got a feeling there's going to be some backpedaling in a hurry once word gets out...let us know!

Thanks guys for all the kind words. I know it was his time but I really wish it didn't have to be my fault. That makes it so much worse. You keep going over and over it in your head. I can't imagine what it must feel like when your negligence causes something worse.

Hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend.

Damo - I agree with Barb that if he wouldn't normally go out, maybe the fact that he did was significant. When our cat was at the end, she was really trying to burrow. We put her in the laundry room overnight (for her safety) and she destroyed the dryer vent trying to squeeze behind the dryer. I read afterwards that when animals are in pain, they try to "hide" from it since they may not have a full understanding that it's coming from within them. Maybe your dog leaving the comfort of home the one time you left the door open may mean he's kind of been waiting for that break, to just try to get away from the pain, etc. I certainly wouldn't feel guilty - he's probably thanking you from "doggie heaven" ;) right now! Do you have any kids who are coping with this right now too? That was the hardest part for us. The cats are older than any of the kids so it never occurred to them that they wouldn't be around forever.

Damo- I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, must be really difficult. My dog is now 10 and I know she won't be around forever but couldn't imagine life without her! So sad!

For anyone who cares about my uni: Basically I've been going to uni everyday but basically sleeping or texting/writing notes to my friends (who are sitting right beside me), playing exy-osies, playing hangman etc. No coursework due yet- that's when it gets really hard with lots of library time fun! lol.

Went out again last night (3 nights in a row and its taking its toll!). Remember the guys that wrote us a note? Well one of them came over yesterday and asked us to come out last night, so I went out. Yes- just me! All my other housemates couldn't go out so I was on my own with the dudes from 33. lol. Had a bottle of wine drank before I even went out!! Then had shots and fat frogs with the guys. Then left them and met other friends in another bar and ended up singing and dancing around the place while my friends just laughed. lol. Felt rough this morning so taking the weekend off.

OHH CUTE STORY!! Well, my housemate is really ill at the minute and her boyfriend was coming over tonight to see her. Well, I was on my own in the living room when he arrived and I look outside and see he has this HUGE bunch of flowers for her!!! I was like "Are you trying to depress me!!!" and he goes "I thought you might say that so I bought you this" and handed me a box of choccies!! How sweet!!! I need a lovely boyfriend like that!!!

Going off for a cry.........

Not really, jsut wallowing in self-pity!

Marcie, everyone else in the family is fine except they feel sorry for me. We all expected him to go any time and were very prepared for it. It is just my guilt that makes it so bad. I keep picturing him floating in the pool and wonder how the heck I let that happen. I'm glad nobody else in the family has that vision burned in their head.

It is a good thing that we have another dog here. That does help. I'm sure I will be fine in a few days but today is pretty sad.

Elmer;) forgot to mention, good luck on the anemia; those iron pills are biggies.

HUH??? :confused3 Didn't understand one bit of that!

I think the DL hotel for Sun - Thurs will set us back about 140 points for a pool view, that's if I am remembering right. I have always wanted to stay at the DL hotel. The pool is really neat.

Oh yeah, a new member guide would be nice. Isn't it kinda late this year?

Gemma you better be careful going out like that. Maybe things aren't as bad where you are as they are in the states but that would be very dangerous here. Please be careful. And yes that boyfriend was very sweet.
