Janet...just checked flights...still $59 comin home (doubt it'll be cheaper than that!) and the $145 to fly down dropped to $109. Still doubt I'll score cheaper than $59. I don't mind paying $400 roundtrip for the 3 of us...we're okay with that.

Raven...$158 rt for your trip is a pretty sweet deal! Is that coming or going?

Looks like you did pretty well Mike. Friends of ours are going to Disney in May and even with checked bag fee, it's cheaper for them to fly USAir than SW To each their own...go with what's cheap for you!

Todd...glad you have some time to shop for what you want. At least you can watch tv on your computer in the meantime. Get something real nice

The Boy told me at bedtime last night that it was dress down day at school and the theme was hobbies.

He wanted to wear his Karate suit which was in the wash....

If my son told me it was hobby day, I would have sent him to school in his new tshirt he got for Valentine's Day. Says: How can I get better at video games when I'm stuck in school 7 hours a day?

As for karate, he doesn't like kids to know he does it...afraid he'll have to 'prove' it and that's not a road he wants to go down

Wanted to ask you homies a question and that is we have option of either parking at airport when we go on vacation and pay $85.00 , taxi which will cost us $100.00 or the only car service I found in town which the quote was $42.25 which I a asuming is each way not round trip and which ever I choose I have to come up with extra money for this cause I forgot to add it in with everything and even forgot about the charge for bagage

That's a tough call Lawrence.

If the car service is each way, it's about the same to drive yourself. If you drive yourself, you are putting your gas out and have your car there at your disposal.

If you take the car service, you still have to tip, but you're using their gas...and waiting on them.

More I think about it, the more I think you should drive yourself.

There are not so many flight out of Scotland and I am always scared we will miss out....we save 2 years for our trips and I would be beside myself with worry !!

I did look into DIY and good prices for flight were between £300.00 - £400.00 each.

With the exchange rate that is between $ 550.00.- $ 740.00

Lots of folks do the DIY wayand save money but i just like to book,know my price,save hard and enjoy !!

Scotlass - the cost for youse guys to fly across the pond is comparable to what we have to pay for flying from Canada to Florida ... IF we get a good seat sale, we sometimes pay around $350-$400 per person, if there is no seat sale, we pay close to $700 per person

Holy YIKES!!! EACH!? Roundtrip I hope.... No wonder youse can only make it over every couple years! With that airfare, that would blow 1/2 our budget!!

StL, re parking @ airport

*check offsite providers (those w/a shuttle to your airport).

*go to your airport's site & see what 'onsite' parking costs & if they list any other providers off property.

*do a google search to check for the independents too, then check for deals...then, call them & ask re offers (AAA or entertainment if u belong) or prepaid discounts...bet u can get lower price.

*might want to see if any hotels near the airport have a cheap park & fly deal...may be less than either of the options u state.

2) don't forget the car service peeps will be expecting a tip - assume 15-20% min, not sure whether u would have to pay the tolls

add $21 for taxes and it is $179 even.

Both my kids are sick as well
Matthew has it a little worse than Chrissy so far. He had missed 3 1/2 days of school this week. I was hoping to send him back to school yest, but his fever spiked up. He is doing better so far this morning. Has a bad cough.
Had to pick up DD from school yest morning- for the same thing, fever and she was really tired. After a few minutes to take her home, I had to go back to school and pick up their hot lunches- if you don't pick up the hot lunches you ordered, you lose the food and don't get any $ refund.

Seems to be an epidemic of sicknesses going around our school. Talked to one of the secretaries at school yest and she said it has gotten really bad this week with kids going home sick Even the school nurse sounded pretty tired.
Matthew is practicing his clarinet now.
Need to go over some missed homework that his homeroom teacher had assigned- looks like alot of homework
I didn't even realize the report cards went home yest. I guess their report cards will go home on Monday.

Seems my kids have had more days off of school than had days of school since early January Spring break starts in 3 weeks already! Where has the time gone?

We watched it about 4x on demand and then rerented it the next day. If you like the spoof movies, then you'll like it. It's pretty funny--we're obviously low-brow people--no high-intensity brain flicks for us.

The movie had one of my favorite lines that I used at Lombard's over Christmas and the waiter obviously had never seen the movie: "I'll have the mahi mahi, but just bring one mahi because I'm on a diet."

Yeah, he thought I was a moron.
