Had some pretty incredible weather here this evening. First, of course right during rush hour, it was almost completely whiteout conditions. At first I was driving faster than I would have liked, just so that I could see a car in front of me and know where the road was. Of course that didn't last very long before we ended up crawling. FINALLY made it home and got all the snow/ice off my car and 10 minutes later Stephen called for a ride home from the HS (musical practice). I was seriously about to tell him to just find a blanket and crash there for the night!
Then the storms started. Sorry, but I've never experienced lightning and thunder in the midst of blizzard-like conditions! I was home at the time, and kept hearing the thunder and trying to figure out what it could be. Then I happened to be looking out the window and saw the huge flash before the next batch. I quickly yelled to my kids who were all like

"Yes, mom, it's been doing that for awhile!" Meanwhile you could hardly see the end of the driveway because the snow was coming down so quickly.

I don't know - thunder snow I thought I'd heard of, but lightning too?
Anyways, it's pretty much stopped now so I guess the kids are stuck going to school tomorrow.

Probably got 6 inches, but in about 3 hours. They're saying a couple more but it looks like a lot of it went north of us (heavy snow). Rain south!
And yes, Stephen was nice enough to share his germs with me so I've been hacking like crazy today too. Enough to keep everyone away from me at work, which is always a plus!
