They got some great deals going on for speed week going on..
Wish had the time to take advantage of it tho.I will be watching it on TV tho!!

:thumbsup2 ... especially if you got a great deal. Unfortunately for us, Disney is a better deal with our AP discounts so that's where we stay.

Its gonna be right about the same price of my Disney trip. So no dining plan, but nicer hotel room.

1/2 of Orlando?:lmao:

enjoy:goodvibes

I know right? Hopefully a lot of people will just be doing day trips to US/IOA so it won't affect the EP line much. :scared:

:wave2: Everyone .. Just a :drive: Drive By HI

Went to Monster Jam with DH and DS today . Had a good time got lots of pictures of DS with the trucks at the pit party . He was a little upset that Grave Digger broke down after the first round. Oh well there is always next year to see more.

Will be around in the morning ...Night all

Evening all! I just watched another thrilling episode of Let's Make A Deal from 1975...no one won the big deal valued at $9,400.00 and included a $7,000.00 Pontiac GrandVille convertible. Oh well...it's always exciting. :rotfl:

If anyone is interested, I posted some pics from around Edmonton on my Facebook page ... click here to see them. We've been here almost 10 years and I just realized I didn't have any pics of the city online ... so this way those of youse who think we live in igloos and go to work by sled dog can see how we really live up here in Northern Alberta ;)

morning homies, and the sun is peeking out from behind a cloud...woo hoo

i have your backs for the week,
going to church in about 20 minutes.

you're all covered...:goodvibes

Good Sunday morning homies :)

we have a HEAT wave going on here........woo hoo......

Rose, lots of kids grew up with limited or no parent involvement. that is how it was years ago. my brothers and i had limited interaction with the parental units and turned out fine. you'll find out, there are really a lot of people in the world that did not have supportive family units growing up.

what you do is change your life to what is best for you. once you have kids, you don't have to repeat the way the parental units reared the family.
you have the option of not repeating the style you were raised.
Yes, we did have a heat wave here yest! Still warm today so far :goodvibes

Mac, I totally agree with what you are saying ::yes:: Back when my mom was growing up, there wasn't parental involvement either. Also DH growing up, his parents were home alot more than mine were, and his parents didn't get involved much. His parents did social stuff(social drinking, playing cards) with their friends of the family.
I'm guessing whenever the PTA pushed for more parental involvement, that's when parents got involved alot more with their kids' activities. That's just my guess.
For me personally, there was/is a reason I'm a SAHM, esp with Chrissy's medical needs. And Matthew's needs as well.

I hope you feel better soon! :goodvibes

We really enjoy going on all the trips. I love music, and enjoyed the sports too that my kids have been involved in too. Plus, I believe this has been a wonderful experience for our little guy too, exposing him to all sorts of different places and people. Wouldn't it be funny if we've all crossed paths and not even known it? :)
Thanks, Sharky :)
Got rid of my headache yest afternoon and went to church last night.

That would be funny if we crossed paths, tho I don't know where you live :)

Hi to all :wave2:

Gotta get some stuff done. Have a good day everyone, if I'm not back later.

I think the Grammys are on tonight, I gotta find out who is performing and who is up to get awards (if I'm interested in watching it tonight).

hi everyone. Spent the weekend with my niece and nephew. They're getting so big! They will be 2 and 4 this year. Watched "Dirty Pretty Things" last night, quite interesting. Just relaxing at home right now.

Hello to all...just enjoying are warm spell we had this weekend! Next week it's back to BRRRRR...is it almost Spring?

Only thing DW got to do is make a plate when she gets off work.

Everyone else can do the dishes tonight :rotfl: yea right!!!

Hi guys! Dropping in with some good news for a change! Eric went to his regional MathCounts competition yesterday (for 6-8th graders). Last year his team placed 4th overall in the team competition, and he placed 6th individually. This year his team won by a large margin! :cool1: :cool1:

They do all the written testing (sprint - speed - round, target - harder questions - round, and team round), then announce the individual & team rankings. The top 10 individuals get to go to the countdown round, which is kind of like a game show. Well, after the testing, Eric was second overall, and the other boy from his school (and there were 27 schools from around the area represented there) was first!

So the way it works, is that number 10 goes against number 9, then the winner (first person to solve three of the problems that go up on the screen and buzz in with the right answer first) goes against 8, and so on all the way to number 1. You can only move down one space, but could theoretically move up from 10 to 1 if you beat everyone else. So first Eric went up against the winner from 3 vs. whoever - I think the actual winner was originally around 5 or 6. They ended up tied at 2-2, with the next question being the deciding one. Eric got that one and moved up to play his classmate for number 1! :cheer2:

Well, Eric had a lot of confidence that if he got that far, that he could beat the other boy (who he knows well and actually is very involved in Rubik's cubes too like Eric). Well, Eric got 3 questions in a row to win the competition! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Now he goes to the state competition in Madison in a month. Last year he placed 9th there. The top 4 winners from state get an all-expense-paid trip to the MathCounts Nationals, which this year just conveniently happen to be at the Swan/Dolphin in Orlando in May! (It changes every year). So I need everyone to start throwing pixie/mummy or whatever dust to help him get in that top 4! (Yeah, yeah, so I want it more than he does! ;) )
