That's okay, Mac sent a PM. I will hold her to it until it's etched into her skin.

Anyone hungry? I just picked these from my tree and after a bath, here they are. I've had one already and it was delicious!

Good luck to Chrissy, and hope the results are positive!

people dust?
:confused3

I don't. If I ever spill a packet of seeds in my front room, I'll have indoor plants.

I'm going to nap for a bit. I had about two hours of sleep last night, and I feel a bit Dopey. And Sleepy. But not Sneezy or Bashful. In a few hours I'll probably be Happy. :cloud9:

hello all

Just wanted to let everyone know that DH's Grandma Passed last night. It has been a busy day looking for something for everyone to wear to the Wake on Monday and then for me and DH to wear to the Funeral on Tuesday . She was 94 and very ill since before Thanksgiving . We are happy to see that she will not be in pain anymore. My kids will only be a the wake which is at the request of DH's mom other wise I wouldn't even take them there . I will not be around too much I am pretty sure we will be wiped out .
I just can't wait for this year to be OVER already .

I got to post a picture of my ornament soon maybe after the craziness calms down a bit.

Getting ready to relax a little I may BBL . :surfweb:

Thanks Mac.. She was 94 and lived a full life . It is the hardest on my MIL and her sisters . We now are worried about Grandpa who is still alive and 93 years old . Sometimes it is said that once one dies the other finds it hard to continue and dies sometime soon after . I just hope that is not the case here .

I am also trying to explain where we are going to my DS who is 7 . I wanted to leave him home but MIL and SIL are insisting he be there for the wake. My SIL is bringing her 4 year old daughter so this is their argument . I am very stressed over this and have told them with no disrespect that he will have his nintendo DS to keep him busy and distracted from the atmosphere . I know that many have no problems with childern being there but to me it is not really the place for them under the age of 10.

AHH got to go phone ringing again . BBL

Mary...sorry to hear about your loss. Take care of yourself and the family!

I'm heading to bed...have a good night all!

I am sorry to hear of your loss :flower3:

My grandmother passed away last December and my 2 sons...ages 3 & 2 went to the visitation for 5 minutes before too many ppl were there then my DH took them home. I will agree with you the younger children don't understand the atmosphere, we tell them "GG" is in a better place but ppl are upset?????

If I could post a pic of my ornament I would but I am sooooooo computer "DUH" that it is not a good idea!! :rotfl:

Stay safe and talk at you all later!! :goodvibes

Mary- so sorry to hear grandma passed  Prayers to your DH's family and your family.

I agree, bring the nintendo DS with for your DS. Almost 2 yrs ago my aunt(my dad's sister) passed away unexpectedly. I had no one to babysit my kids at the time, for the wake. My kids were 9 then. We had them bring their nintendo DS and to come to find out, other kids were there and my DD was interacting via nintendo with another boy, in the food lounge(whatever the room is called). It worked out well :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear this, Mary. Even when you know it's a great blessing for your loved ones to have passed beyond their pain and trials, it's a very sad thing to deal with. I wish you and your family peace and comfort. :grouphug: Hang in there and know we're here for you.

Morning all ...

Going out all day . Just wanted to say thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Good news is DS does not have to come I got a sitter for him and that makes a HUGE difference for me. I may BBL .

I haven't had a poop related story for awhile, so out of fear of losing my Poop Lady status, here goes.

Yesterday Daniel was having a Daddy Day. You know. One of those days where he had to be with Daddy at all times, doing whatever Daddy was doing. He insisted he had to go help Daddy feed the cows. It's been raining a lot the past few weeks. A three year old going to help feed the cows in the muddy pasture. You know where this is headed, right?

Daniel was trying to climb the steps to the hay bin and had mud on his shoes. He slipped, fell, and went down in a mud puddle. The story should end there, but this is Daniel we're talking about. He got up, panicked when he saw the cows headed toward him (which, they were headed for the hay in the barn, not him, but I'm sure it looked like they were headed for him) and tried to run away. This resulted in slipping in a pile of cow poop and going face first into another mud puddle.

He arrived on my doorstep screaming at the top of his lungs. He was brown from head to toe. And smelly. I stripped him on the porch and took him straight to the tub. After scubbing him down, I had to scrub the tub. I mean, he was nasty.

His clothes and shoes went into the wash. Most of them survived. His formerly white socks are a total loss.

More mud than poop, but still. I think I can keep the title for awhile.

Glad to hear this, while others may find it all right to bring their children it was your decision not to bring your DS. Do not let any one give you grief about it, you know what is right for your child. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

We are back from our trip and I have so much to do. UGH! Laundry, unpack, put away the Christmas decorations....start planning for 2011! You all know the drill! Hugs and special thanks to everyone who helped me plan our amazing trip! I have a partial trip report up if any one wants to read of our adventures! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

thanks for the trippie, off to read!

mary, sorry to hear, never easy no matter how old ur luved ones are, remember the good times

tricia - u can sling it with the best of them:laughing:

todd - i've had an overwhelming urge for oranges lately...think it's power of suggestion. Q for u, i've always thought that the 'ugliest' orange is the best tasting...T/F?

just an observation from pricing out dates around July 4th this year, rack rates (AAA long gone evidently):

Portofino standard (which many can upgrade from via YouFirst) is approx 1/2 price of the Contemporary MK View (my 'gold standard' on the pricier DVC weekends)...said quote was over $1,100:eek: for 2 nights @ CR...forgettaboutit:sad2: .

Even the values were coming in around $160 a night. Guess the disney rack rates have to be inflated to cover all the 'free' dining, gift cards, etc. No better way to have peeps think they're getting a bargin than to tell them they're getting 20 or 30% off rack....jmho:rolleyes1

Mine are the best naval oranges you could ever possibly eat...according to the folks and the co-workers. :rotfl:

Hi guys! I'm back! I'm at work so this will have to be quick, but I wanted to let you all know that I was still alive and not MIA! I did leave a note telling people that I'd be skiing this weekend. Didn't have any cell phone coverage, let alone internet, so I wasn't able to even stay up on things. Needless to say, the lack of connectivity was tough on those family members with girlfriends. Finally allowed Matt to make a quick phone call to tell his GF to call our room so they could talk, and had her forward the number on to Stephen's GF. So they lived, but not happily.

Add to that that the skiing was really bad, and we didn't have a great weekend. In case you were wondering (probably news to those of you in southern states!), skiing in -20 degrees is MUCH better than skiing in +35 degrees! However, skiing the next day when it got back down near 0 and everything froze over from the previous day wasn't much of an improvement either. Evidently we should have just given up and come home yesterday morning! We did have a nice dinner at Texas Roadhouse last night though, which was probably the highlight of the trip!

I did want to mention that I LOVED my ornament and have it on the tree. I'm pretty sure it was from Mrs. Donald Duck, so please correct me if I'm wrong. It was a cute light up Rudolph - always one of my favorite TV Christmas specials from days long ago! Thanks so much! :thumbsup2 I will try to post a pic as well, but unlike those of you who don't know how to post pics, obviously I know that part. My challenge is in finding the camera, getting the lighting right so you can actually see the ornament, finding the right cable to hook it up to the computer, and getting it on the computer! So I need to get one of my tech-savvy guys to do that part!

In other news, we're considering forgetting the Disney trip in August in favor of heading back to Boston and Vermont (family and skiing) over the March break. Right now I can get air from Milwaukee to Boston for $161!! Hard to pass up and we'd love to see the cousins again and ski on a real mountain! It would still be just me, Stephen, and this time Eric since Matt has his college class during that time and Royce would need to work. What are your thoughts? Yeah, I know, the same as Stephen's - can't we do both?! ;)

Mary - I'm sorry to hear about the funeral and hope everything goes well. I also think bring DS is your decision. He's probably young enough that he wouldn't be too upset by it, but also too young to really get anything out of it. So I guess my thought is that it wouldn't hurt him to be there but he certainly doesn't need to be. Your family is in our prayers!

Janet - just wanted to let you know that Matt got accepted for the West Point seminar this summer. He submitted his online application on 12/16 and his acceptance letter was dated 12/17! Of course that's his third choice of schools. He submitted his Air Force application on 12/1 and still hasn't heard back from them. Navy's window doesn't open until Feb 1st, which is frustrating because he'd rather go to that one than Army, but has to reply to this before he'll know if he can even get in there! But he at least has one "yes" under his belt, which gives him a bit of confidence!

Pixee - welcome back! I look forward to reading the trip report and will read it as soon as I can (this is hard enough at work!). Glad you had a great time!

ps. I don't dust either. Ever.

Afternoon all ...

Mary - so sorry to hear about DH's Grandma
