Its pretty easy too tell you the truth..But again I've been doing this for over twenty years tho..

I gotta eat dinner homies,See'Ya in the morning all!!

You certainly can! Maybe I can get you over here sometime. I need some help with my bathroom. :rolleyes1

When you redo the bathroom the cost is cheap compared to what it brings to the value of your house!!:thumbsup2
Thats my selling pitch!!

I got A house tommorrw that gets three custom units in the bathrooms..I will post pics of them...:thumbsup2

Oh my goodness! Is it already Wednesday night? 4 more days til my Sweeney Todd audition. :scared:

Offering advice for those of you with younger kids who will be taking the PSAT in the next few years. Do NOT check the box that says "I'd like to get information from colleges". Stephen & Matt took it in October and we're just getting deluged now. First it was emails - probably about 5 an hour (per kid since they have different emails). Okay, I just hit delete - particularly since I haven't even heard of 90 percent of the colleges. But now it's actual mail. Really, I think our mailbox was bending over today. What's the point of this? (Besides killing trees!). I think the only one they've even opened was from Univ. of Minnesota and they were considering there already (we're actually going on a tour there next Saturday). Just seems like such a waste!

On a funny note, as I carried in today's cartload full, I was glancing through them and saw one from Harvard. I was like  "Wow - I've heard of that one!" Then I saw it was addressed to my husband. Ended up being some sort of business symposium thing. Oh well! ;)

Janet - I think I'd be asking the DS how HE's going to pay for the trip! I remember in 8th grade when I desperately wanted to go to Washington DC with my class. My folks never even mentioned the possibility of them paying any of it. I babysat about a zillion hours a week (back when we made a whole $1 an hour!) to be able to afford to go! Yeah, I know, realistically you could talk matching funds or something, but that's a lot of money!

Eric's doing okay today - didn't go to school because he was too tired and hurt too much. Yes, he was milking it for all it's worth. I had to leave for work and told Matt to drag him to school with him and that somehow didn't work. :confused3 Since it wasn't worth driving home 20 minutes to drive him to school and back to work, he got the day off. Meanwhile Stephen came home sick insisting he's dying and knows he has strep or mono while I tried to explain he seemed to have a good old-fashioned cold! Staying clear of him!

Have a good day tomorrow everyone! I have an eye doctor appointment, work, then conferences all evening so may not be here much!

marci, now i forgot what i was going to say about your posting.
it will come back to me .....

i always remember the thing i was trying to remember right before i fall asleep at night.

and then i forget what it was again when i wake up in the morning.....

My DD took the SAT in 8th--(she scored better than 60% of the seniors taking nationwide that year:thumbsup2 Let's hope she doesn't forget everything when she has to take it for real) I know what you mean about being deluged. Seems kinda crazy when you see the news and it daily reports how colleges are struggling and giving out less financial aid.:confused3

Glad Eric is doing better. The CRUD is going around. DD came home pale as a sheet and skipped ballet to sleep.

Morning all.

Another day, another day stuck at home. :headache: Our plan is to get DH a car Saturday. I actually had a very nice insurance lady who cancelled our check yesterday because it was coming to PA from TX. She reissued it overnight...so, should get here Friday. Thank goodness...I am done with the 1 car thing

Max is doing pretty well. He misses Bubba when he goes to school. Sleeps most of the day while he's gone.

I could use donald's handyship here...our bathroom could use some help :guilty: You do very nice work. (ur wife is a lucky lady :thumbsup2 )

Marci...thanks for the tip...will remember to not check that box! Besides, if you have a few colleges in mind, why bother with info from other schools? (Hope Eric feels better tomorrow for school ;) )

I know I've missed some stuff...but wanted to say :wave2:

The soup tasted better today, and was more filling. Alas, that was the last of it. Tonight we're having mini-chili. Ground beef, black beans, chili mix and Rotel. Prtty good.

soup, stew & chili always better the next day:)

Its pretty easy too tell you the truth..But again I've been doing this for over twenty years tho..

beautiful, u r a craftsman...tile is so hard to do:thumbsup2 . We managed to put in a new shower backing over tub (adjustable kind)...the adhesive lingered for days:hippie: . Did u ever do one of those tub overlays...we have an old cast iron # original to the house (late '20s:rolleyes: ), enamal is down to base & it's a bear to keep clean. Guy @ Lowes insists we could sand down the tub & apply this special epoxy kit...im afraid it'd make a bad situation worse.

Oh my goodness! Is it already Wednesday night? 4 more days til my Sweeney Todd audition. :scared:

i hear u should skip the meat pies

just got word that Harvard now has/instituting soon a program wherein no family is expected to pay more than 10% of their income to send their spawn there...evidently, they've gotten a rep as being elitist:laughing:

Yeah, I know, realistically you could talk matching funds or something, but that's a lot of money!

we did discuss it, he worked caddying as much as they offered last year when 14-15, wants to do both that & another gig this summer (just not much out there in this economy:sad2: ). I did say i'd do matching funds (was planning on more like 2/3rds-unbenowst to him- jik he didn't make his goal & he was agreeable, i just don't see him earning even $1k in time. They have a weird system of payments & there is a huge cancellation penalty...evidently, just the way the trips r set up? What put me off was when i said we could allocate majority of birthday & Xmas 'funds' towards the trip...thought he'd faint:rolleyes: said he didn't want to give that up. Guess he's not going then, evidently; not as important to him as he portrayed.

Eric's doing okay today - didn't go to school because he was too tired and hurt too much. Yes, he was milking it for all it's worth.

R&R day;)

Meanwhile Stephen came home sick insisting he's dying and knows he has strep or mono while I tried to explain he seemed to have a good old-fashioned cold! Staying clear of him!

winter doldrums i think:wizard:

Have a good day tomorrow everyone! I have an eye doctor appointment, work, then conferences all evening so may not be here much!

busy day indeed

eek another sickie

have u filled out the FRSA yet...i felt the blood draining:sad1:

donations down & scholarship endowments feeling pinch re interest rates

banks in PA will not longer loan money for Community College, going to hurt alot of kids

cannot imagine how they came up with such a high price to stay in DC for a week - Ritz Carlton lol
Marci...thanks for the tip...will remember to not check that box! Besides, if you have a few colleges in mind, why bother with info from other schools?

need to apply to as many as u can, never know what scholarship pkgs they'll come up with...especially the private schools. I wasn't thrilled when oldest decided to go to private school (robert morris) as a day student when the price was way more than PITT staying in a dorm:confused: . The pkg they came up with (no grants, etc.) wound up being less than PITT as day student & he was happy w/teachers & smaller class size plus better rep/placement for his major - sports management

good day all:dance3:

Hey Janet, I know here in Whg. they have a bathroom outfitter that will come and refinish your tubs for very reasonable and they do a good job according to my neighbor. Maybe someone up your way offers that, too?

He wouldnt let it go the whole time I was putting up my tools in the truck he was giving it to me left and right..
I finnaly had enough and told him find someone who is Dutch to do it thats the only way your going to be happy..
He said see you in court and I told him he was #1 by hand and drove off with some rubber on the pavement!!
