Wonder if DW liked what I got her and that was a gift basket of chocolate and other goodies and of course her fave a pound of chocolate covered strawberries.

This has officially been the weirdest Valentine's Day ever for us.

1st in the morning we buried my husband's favorite uncle, WWII vet--those are the funerals I hate because when my dad died many moons ago he, too, had the gun salute--gets me every time.

Then we just went to Ford Truck Professional Bull Riding. Haven't seen one in real life in years. So very cool.

Aren't we just the romantic ones???

So sorry to hear about DH's uncle and that always gets me too cause DW's dad died almost 4 years ago and he had military funeral and when they played taps and the 21 gun salute really got me

One year I told DW we are going out to dinner on VD,she got all dressed up and kept asking were are we going.Its a surprise I kept telling her.
We got in the car and I drove too the 7-11 up the road.I went in got bologna a loaf of bread and some cheese,got back in the car and drove home..

you could have at least picked up some wine too

Friday the 13th was pretty good. Not as gorey as My Bloody Valentine. Definitely left open for a sequel. Since it was a drive-in, we got a double feature. The second movie was The Uninvited, which was really good. Both for only $6!!

Did I post this pic? I swear I did last night but maybe my brain is going! (Very likely probably!). It's the bracelet Stephen got for his GF. There are 9 charms total. The top two are the ones that came with the bracelet - the "diamond" heart for Edward and the wolf chamr for Jacob from Twilight. Then moving around clockwise, there's a turtle because she's a turtle collector, a bingo charm because they've taken him to bingo at their church several times, a toothbrush/toothpaste because her mom's a hygienist at our dentist, a "sweet 16" charm since she turned 16, music notes since she's in choir, a skier since we've obviously taken her skiing several times, and a bone to represent her dog! Cool, eh?

Very sorry to hear about your family's loss. Military funerals are very moving.

Bull riding? Hmmm. That is a new one. I am going to Monster Jam today (hoping to get home in time for the end of the race). I have never been but DH made me go out and buy those foam earplugs. He took DS 2 years ago.

How true.Im just cooking steaks on the grill and throwing a movie in the blu-ray..

Happy belated anniversary Janet.

And thanks everyone for the condolences. Hubby's uncle was preceded in death by his wife by about 12 years and basically he's been waiting to see her ever since--he lost all interest in everything. Blessing in a way, but still sad.

My DH's dad is about 12 years younger so we never really thought they looked alike. Well, when he was shown on Friday the 13th, his daughter said that her friends walked in saw my father-in-law and freaked.

Now, if my father-in-law starts talking in little kid voices and telling himself to "Kill them mommy", then we've got problems.

Here is dinner I whipped together last night for Valentine's Day.

We got a figure for DHs car...we didn't like it and said it was too low...so, it was resubmitted. Amazingly, the insurance company did their thing, found some new info, and could give us another $2K for it (more of a figure we were expecting). Altho, they said the seats had some wear and deducted for that, I think they had to find something wrong (I don't know how a 3.5 yr car can have worn seats that bad?) ...whatever.... Papers are in the process...hoping for our check this week.

On a happier note, our family has grown:

We adopted him from the ARL Thursday and he is getting used to his new home. I, however, am doing the housebreaking and I'm pretty tired

Oh well..it's all good.....
