Something About Nothing............ #14

My view waiting for food and Starbucks:
IMG_4303.jpeg

Disappointed with Starbucks now charging for my vanilla or caramel pumps (usually 3) .80 a cup, when it was free up to yesterday. Think their coffee is expensive as it is without adding an additional $1.60.

Light rain shower went over us not that long ago, but all getting dry, as it’s muggy and sunny again.

My view waiting for food and Starbucks
Such a gorgeous view. I wish I was there too.

B just booked a hotel stay at Universal for January. The AP rate for Terra Luna is currently at $88 so I suggested she go ahead and secure it now. She had a problem with booking. She doesn’t have a credit card, so had to use her debit card. It kept asking for a valid expiration date even though she put in the correct date. I ended up calling and discovered that since the expiration date was before the trip date it was not accepted. This makes no sense since the room deposit is charged immediately. I ended up putting the deposit on my credit card and told her she could pay me back. She doesn’t currently have an AP, but I am considering buying her one for Christmas.

Had to visit for some park fun and enjoy City Walk, before ride to airport. Took us, 20 minutes from the garages, and now waiting for boarding. No line at pre-check, and only one entering the rental return. Also shocked at little line at Costco gas, before our USO fun.

Saw a spectacular early afternoon thunderstorm from a table under the roof of the outside of Louie’s. We had just left inside there, and got a few large raindrops fall on us, and we got lucky, and was not wet from that table we sat at. Then oh so muggy and warm.

USO store in City Walk expanded into where Cinabun and that surf shop were, to include a Nintendo section. And, sadly to us, the Starbucks at the start after entering from the garages is now near the escape places. Wonder what will go in that old Starbucks space.

Almost time for our on time flight. Agent at gate said we are one of the few flights that will be on time. Overheard many being delayed or cancelled. Weather delays, this time of year. At least we didn’t get rained on the way back.

Had a fabulous time, didn’t get caught in the rain, that only fell a couple of times the whole time we were there and sailing. And even sweeter, countdown reset to 2 months. And an evening flight down. Boo. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do to only book direct flights. At least a longer time. Party fun and HHN fun during that coming up trip. Yay!

Hope all are enjoying this weekend before our Forth of July Friday this coming week. 3 day weekend to my week day routine end? Woot!

Happy last day of June. Still nothing interesting to write about. Today’s excitement was a tiny lizard that was in the waiting room of my office. It was very quick, but a client was finally able to catch it and put it back outside.

I had to call Universal today because B never got an email confirmation for her hotel stay and my credit card has not been charged. The TM couldn't find her reservation anywhere in the system but did find another person with the same name who booked a stay at the Portifino. I got the room booked and wrote down the confirmation number. Now we will just wait and see if there are any changes to tickets or AP’s before the end of the year. I need to renew my AP in December. I might get B one for Christmas.

Nice Christmas gift, Charade. Little one has the lowest pass, as we go when her block outs days are not. I renewed it for her this year, as 4 trips using it this year. Maybe 5 if we decide some holiday cruising fun.

Ah, was not feeling well these last couple of days. Threw up more times than I was hoping not to. First time today, that I’m eating food that stays down. Still have a headache, but that’s hopefully going away soon. I have been taking drugs, to help with the nausea and awfully painful headache that came with it.

And so, we are at mid week this holiday first week of July. Wow, June seems to have flown by so fast. And, who do I see today?

IMG_4316.jpeg

Yep, windshield wipers were on, on that almost dark predawn commute. Lighter rain, then heavier rain as I drove. More heavier rain failing the closer I got. Umbrella will get a workout today.

But yay, at the mid week already, as we get over this hump of a wet day Wednesday feeling, then that most fabulous Friday, the 4th of July, is then a day away. Woot! Holiday coming up.

And glad the next one, will be a fun day, as night flight the day before little one’s 24th birthday. She gets to spend her birthday night at TL, for D23’s Kuzcotopia event. Woot, countdown less than 60 days now. Starlight fun and H2O TL fun this trip too, as I said why not take the later Starlight tour time slot, as day we wanted had both time slots open, when we bought it mid afternoon on our 60 day out day. Hoping that means lower crowds when we go. Heard those Starlight tours sell out fast sometimes.

Ah, back to routine I go. Though while not glad sickness made it a two day week, am happy it is, now that I am here. Off to refill my tea cup. Tea feels good, as it’s staying down. Ack, okay reboot laptop, do that updating you need. Hope it’s done when I come back from refilling my tea cup.

Most Wonderful Wednesday wish to all.

keep a stash of aldi frozen ones in derp freeze...in case if emergency break glass sort. They are decent

I will give a look at Aldi when I’am I there next time.

Hope it went well.
It did all good news.

My view waiting for food and Starbucks:
That was a nice photo of the Castle.

USO store in City Walk expanded into where Cinabun and that surf shop were, to include a Nintendo section. And, sadly to us, the Starbucks at the start after entering from the garages is now near the escape places. Wonder what will go in that old Starbucks space.
Thats odd that they would just move the SB almost right across from where it was located. Maybe it was time for a remodel. Will be interesting to see what they put in there.

number. Now we will just wait and see if there are any changes to tickets or AP’s before the end of the year. I need to renew my AP in December. I might get B one for Christmas.
What nice gift for B for Christmas.

Lynne I hope you feel better soon.

Mac you are missed. I hope you are feeling better.

Janet you should have left for your vacation. Hope all goes well and the weather is good for you.

If I remember correctly you were going to Epic. Enjoy your time there.

Have been busy with some yard projects. The weather here had gone down a little into the mid 80’s, but humidity is still a bit uncomfortable.

Did get estimate on repairing the corner of the house that has settled gulp……….but has to be done.

I think Universal finally listened about the food situation on the UMH Tour. There will be a lunch buffet for the 6 house tour this year. Just makes more sense as having to hustle off for food and return back to restart second half of tour is always a rush. The price keeps going up for the tour every year so might as well get food included.

Need to get scootin this morning.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone.

Hope you are back to normal by now. Today is my day to be ill. Thankfully no throwing up though.

Yikes. A necessary evil I suppose.

I am currently in the waiting room at my local Honda dealership. I had a medical appointment this afternoon and when I was done my car was completely dead. I even had to use the manual key to open it. i am now waiting on the installation of a new battery. Looking on the bright side, I’m glad it happened today and not tomorrow when everything will be closed.

Good Friday morning and Happy 4th of July to everyone :wave2:

Special Thank You to all who have served and are serving in our military. Without your sacrifice we would not be celebrating as a free Nation today. May you all be blessed abundantly.

Good Friday morning and happy 4th of July. We have been having hefty fireworks going off for the past number of days. We had lots of the large displays in the sky last night from the streets in front and in back of us.

While the fireworks are beautiful I do cringe a bit hoping people are not injured setting them off. I don’t think folks think about how dangerous those things are.

Going to be hot here again today.

The town my home is located in is supposed to have their big fireworks display tomorrow instead of today. It is supposed to be hot tomorrow too. I have not been down to the river to see the fireworks for a number of years. It is a big display with band music etc…It is really nice to lay your blanket on the beautiful grassy hill down by the river and watch the fireworks,

Had been thinking of taking little J and family down for the big fireworks show tomorrow. It would be his first 4th of July fireworks, but it is going to be to hot.

I’am always concerned with heat exhaustion no matter how young or old.

I had thought of taking umbrellas, cooler with snacks and drinks etc…but with the humidity being so high don’t think even those things would help totally.

My sister K, little J’s grandma has their pool ready for the 4th celebration so little J will love that.

I’am thinking the next town over might not have their fireworks show do to construction down by their river front. This may cause hundreds of folks to come here for fireworks tomorrow so it might be a bit busy.

Need to get out and get a few errands done today.

Sending out get well prayers for all our Sans family who need them.

Have a wonderful 4th of July everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Stay safe

Quick hello. We went to see How to Train Your Dragon this afternoon. It was very good and stuck close to the original movie. I saw my sister’s name in the end credits. Not actually her of course, but it was the same name.

I finally got to the movies on Thursday and saw How to Train Your Dragon live action movie and I really liked it too. My sister and her two grandsons were with me and they all liked it also.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it too Charade.

I have never seen the 3 animated films.

Mason Thames who played Hiccup, Nico Parker who played Astrid and Gerard Butler who played Stoick the Vast (Hiccups dad) were all at the grand opening event at Epic in May.

Have had hot weather here past number of days.

Lots of fireworks going off all around.

The big fireworks show down at the river was on Saturday. I could see some of them from our yard.

I have done a few small projects in the yard past few days. Could only stay out for a couple of hours yesterday as it was so hot.

Looks like weather is predicting a cool down to the mid 80’s in a couple of days. I will take that. Hopefully the humidity will fall a little too. That would help a lot.

Praying for all the families in Texas who lost loved ones in the flood there.

Sending prayers to all the Sans family who are missing here. Hope you are well and if you are ailing sending get well prayers your way.

Have a wonderful Monday doing whatever makes you happy.

Ah yes, after a thunderstorm yesterday, which was after a gorgeous sunny and hot holiday weekend, there’s a chance of rain every day, for the next 7 days.

Was oh so muggy even at 5 am this morning. And after enjoying a four day weekend, thank goodness:

IMG_4317.jpeg

Yes, that almost mid week day, where we also not only say happy Tuesday, but:

IMG_4319.jpeg

Yay, the day for a Taco Bell, or other taco place, for a meal today.

And, since my phone says rain chance is in the early evening today, and bright enough out, will be doing my walk for lunch today. Though not looking forward to that mass exit when I leave, as seems almost everyone is done when I am. At least with no school in session, tiny bit faster afternoon commute.

Saw the new Jurassic movie this weekend. Enjoyed it. Though the ending was like what happened next. Well done, as said to be a stand alone story. Can’t believe the original one was in 1993.

Most Terrific Taco Tuesday you all.

Aw, after that nasty late dinnertime thunderstorm rolled by, after phones all buzzed with tornado warnings, this is what we saw across the street from us:

Double rainbow.

Hey all, 1st time I've had chance to post since trip. Still doing laundry

She doesn’t have a credit card, so had to use her debit card
Never used a debit card to book travel, have heard nightmarish stories about large holds put on account for days causing OD situations for many
Today’s excitement was a tiny lizard that was in the waiting room of my office.
Leapin Lizards!
as I said why not take the later Starlight tour time slot, as day we wanted had both time slots open,
Can't place the tour? Disney? I need more coffee, are you going back this month - woohoo
Janet you should have left for your vacation. Hope all goes well and the weather is good for you.
Lovely trip

Worst consistently stormy weather in 25 years there. Violent sort multiple x day. Sturdy Ponchos & umbrellas barely kept up
Did get estimate on repairing the corner of the house that has settled gulp……….but has to be done
Ugh. We came home to discover a set of exterior steps needs replaced again. Mr got the materials yesterday. I did a hard blink at the cost of three risers. Haven't bought treated wood in a long time ouch
Just makes more sense as having to hustle off for food and return back to restart second half of tour is always a rush. The price keeps going up for the tour every year so might as well get food included.
Absolutely. Too hectic and unpredictable to grab food & return on time. It got to point I'd skip lunch and nosh on a snack I'd bring.

Hope you are back to normal by now. Today is my day to be ill. Thankfully no throwing up though.
Two sickies yikes! All better now?

Was surprised to see so many people with masks in FL

it. i am now waiting on the installation of a new battery. Looking on the bright side, I’m glad it happened today and not tomorrow when everything will be closed.
Worked out pretty well. Last time happened to me had car full of groceries and AAA took their sweet time to bring out a new battery. Thankfully, the store out my cold stuff in refrigeration
Saw the new Jurassic movie this weekend.
I had complimentary reward tix from comcast. Came home and discovered I must've deleted them. Was waiting to see the reviews. Seems like a good one vs the last outing lol

Back from that soggy trip, Keisha? 50 days out from our next one. We get another round thunderstorm this evening. Guess my garden is getting watered every day now. lol Time of year, so humid.

Had to dash out to get a hot coffee for my DH during the lesser of the hard rain last night, and I was like, other than being a little wet, the rain was warm feeling. Had quick dry clothes on and my plastic slides. Though we have umbrellas and ponchos in our cars this time of year, but was close each way, so did not mind the bit of wet I was. Even though they say, this storm today, is later than yesterday’s, took my umbrella into the office just in case it comes much earlier.

Starlight tour is at the AKL, Keisha. Little one really wanted to do it, so I was game. Booked the HS late time for her, so there’s so many nights this coming up trip we have fun scheduled. I do want to see that new light parade at MK, so that’s also one of our later nights. We already reserved MK that day. We will start there, go back and rest or swim, eat early dinner at that fancy new restaurant next to BW, as where we are staying, then bus back to MK for the night.

Time for lunchtime walk. 85 and feels like 87. Sunglasses ready.

Camel says it’s so hot and muggy, he’s on break. Hence, a Wonderful Wednesday hope to all, as get over this hump of a day feeling, that most Fabulous Friday then a day away.

You know, the Friday I said, why not make it a three day weekend, after that four day one. Alarm will be shut off tomorrow night. Woot! Will pay for it though, as next week, full week day routine in some time. Ugh. But one more week down to my late Fall retirement day. Tick, tick, tick as the days left slowly going by. With two more fun times before that day. Yay!

Quick trip recap:

Rainiest trip in 25 years, including weathering Michael

Epic was mind boggling in both great and no so ways.

Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

Didn’t expect to find full day issues of rides being down for both the rain & technical issues. We roped dropped and closed it down without a break & still didn’t get everything done.

Most frustrating was the wait time system being “broken”. The times were frozen all day on all the attractions. Bad enough, worse to cross the park to elect to wait 75 minutes for a ride and find out it was actually closed for hours.

Stated wait times for dining were way off too. Got out of line @ toad’s after an hour and not making it to the room where you order food. The crepe restaurant was estimated for 20 minutes…took 2 hours. Crepe not fully cooked in the middle. GD ate around it and was happy enough lol.

Once they get the bugs out, it will be a must-do.

Stella Nova was a very nice surprise, would book again.
IMG_8275.jpeg

Gatorland, a hoot. Yes, that is a gator wrangler with a stick to protect us when feeding the residents. Upon reflection, file it under what was I thinking, fun tho

Capybara experience. Amazing

Lynne - ok, didn’t think they had two of those AKL tours going a night again. We have watched the vehicles lumber by when out on our balcony there :). Always forget to book @ the 60 day mark, had a CM tell me it’s mostly non guests. I wanted to do the Jiko dinner one, don’t think it’s going to come back on rotation.

50 days is right around the corner! The mr just informed me it’s 60 something for us “…did you start packing yet?…”. Jokingly, little does he know I keep a bug out bag/bin of sorts ready at all times.

Would like to sneak in a quick beach trip to SC in August, not sure if I can get that to work this year.

I thought you retired before the last trip…again, soon!

Awake too early again today. Didn’t want to get up but couldn’t get back to sleep. Decided to check room rates for January and discovered B’s room had dropped to 81.20. I got that modified for her. Not a huge decrease, but saved enough to buy a meal.

I have never seen the 3 animated films.
I had only seen the first one when I went to Epic. When I got home I rented the other two.

Yay, the day for a Taco Bell, or other taco place, for a meal today.
I had a chimichanga. I rarely get tacos.

Saw the new Jurassic movie this weekend. Enjoyed it. Though the ending was like what happened next. Well done, as said to be a stand alone story. Can’t believe the original one was in 1993.
Dh wants to see that one. We might take a trip to Roanoke for it. We were given a theater gift card for Christmas, but it’s for a theater chain we don’t have in our town.

Never used a debit card to book travel, have heard nightmarish stories about large holds put on account for days causing OD situations for many
I hadn’t thought about that. I may end up using my card to pay the balance of the room and have her pay me back. I can earn flight miles that way.

Two sickies yikes! All better now?
I’m fine now. I think something I ate disagreed with me.

Epic was mind boggling in both great and no so ways.

Didn’t expect to like it as much as I did.

Once they get the bugs out, it will be a must-do.
I must have been on a very good day. I had very little problems when I was there.

Stella Nova was a very nice surprise, would book again.
I liked Stella Nova with the exception of the motion sensitive lights. B is going to stay at at Terra Luna in January.

50 days is right around the corner! The mr just informed me it’s 60 something for us “…did you start packing yet?…”. Jokingly, little does he know I keep a bug out bag/bin of sorts ready at all times.
I’m so envious. I think I am 178 days away. I’m trying to figured out if I can sneak in another quick trip before January.

Almost time to get up and start my day. Our new office copier/scanner arrives today. So glad to get rid of the loaner.

Love stalking room rates, glad you got even a better rate for B, Charade. Yay for new copier.

Ooh your trip right behind our trip, Keisha. We start at BW but then end at RPR. Booked RPR back when first AP rates came out. Have never seen it lower since then, much higher lately. Was booked at mouse CB, but saw AP great deal at BW, so BW it is, and haven’t seen that low rate since I switched a couple of weeks ago, also much higher BW rates. And glad, as we extended our trip a few days earlier, due to D23, then could not get CB for the whole mouse time, so booked Sports for those extra nights. Now, all nights at BW. Woot! No switching and will take advantage of several of those late nights for sure.

Rental cars, ugh. Still higher in my book, as much lower price got for my 2 week February trip, this coming up one, got a well I guess low enough, a bit ago, but higher each time I have looked lately. But those, I check until the day I leave. So there’s always hope, as got a very low rate in February, the day before we left. And of course, little one got us that run weekend the next month, so decided to tack on a few more days, so fun for 9 days before I retire in a few weeks from then. Gotta use up most of my leave. Hehe.

Thirsty Thursday, and again oh so muggy, drinking a good thing. More tea for me.

Terrific Thursday to all.

Good Thursday morning everyone :wave2:

It seems like a lot of home improvement items are pretty expensive.

Was surprised to see so many people with masks in FL
Wonder if there is an increase in the latest version of covid in Florida? I have not heard anything about it.

Rainiest trip in 25 years, including weathering Michael
Sorry to hear that that. The weather as been unpredictable to say the least.

Epic was mind boggling in both great and no so ways
Glad to hear you did like Epic.

Didn’t expect to find full day issues of rides being down for both the rain & technical issues. We roped dropped and closed it down without a break & still didn’t get everything done.

Did you get to ride Monsters Unchained? That is my favorite ride at Epic. Of course I did not get to ride Battle of the Ministry. Will see if that is possible in September.

Gatorland, a hoot. Yes, that is a gator wrangler with a stick to protect us when feeding the residents. Upon reflection, file it under what was I thinking, fun tho
Your granddaughter has the courage of a Lion. I would not have gotten in that area for any amount of money. Those beasts are huge. I don’t care what anyone says one man with a big stick could not control that many monsters…..Yikes……

I’am sure they have been conditioned over years of training. Those look like the older big beasts. Those gators have had go be massively fed before hand to allow people so close to them.

Capybara experience. Amazing
Cute picture of your granddaughter with the Capybara.

BWV balcony view, quiet pool
Nice view from your room.

Looks like all of you had a nice day at the Magic Kingdom. Nice picture of you all.

days, so fun for 9 days before I retire in a few weeks from then. Gotta use up most of my leave. Hehe.
Nice to hear you have your retirement to look forward to. I highly recommend it.

Sending out good thoughts to all the Sans family who have been missing here particularly Mac. Hope you are doing well Mac you are missed here.

Woke up this morning and it was already 81 degrees with 90% humidity. So much for the days getting cooler. It is summer after all.

Daughter in law J is continuing to progress well after her knee surgery and is finally done with her therapy. It was a long road to recovery for her, but she is doing good.

Daughter M had one of her knees replaced 4 weeks ago. She is doing good and meeting all her PT milestones post surgery. She will have to have the other knee done when this one heals. She is a Respiratory Therapist and on her feet a lot as many in the healthcare profession are.

My cousin C’s husband passed away Monday of pancreatic cancer. He was a such a nice guy. He was 63. It seems there are so many young ones passing with cancer lately. I know she is devastated, I cannot imagine her pain.

I have another cousin I’am close to that is in the hospital with CHF and Pulmonary Edema. She is a breast cancer survivor.

Lots of prayers going up to heaven for everyone.

I’am hoping I can be there for my cousin C’s husband funeral. Would like to let her know how much she is loved and cared for by her extended family. They live a few hours away. Then if everything goes well I will travel a few more hours away to see my other cousin in the hospital.

My dad lives only about 40 minutes from my cousin that is in the hospital so I will for sure be making a stop to spend some time with him.

We are all getting older and time is precious for sure.

It is 58 days for me before I leave for vacation to Universal for HHN. Still on the fence about how much time I will spend at HHN. Going to make UMH Tour plans before the day I want sells out. I will figure the rest out later.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.
