Just the two of us here this weekend. My two oldest had a football game in Denver, the team took a bus. I’d have quit on the spot as soon as I heard that vs flying. We used a GC to Red Lobster, was so much better! Quite the deal for $43 if you ask me for perfectly cooked lobster.

Looks like you and your honey had a nice dinner. Always nice to get out and have a meal.

Ah yes, after a couple of rainy days, as weather lady said this early morning, a day of reprieve before more rainy days to come.

Glorious sunshine pouring through that office window. So bright out, after felt like a very dark and overcast predawn commute. I’ll take it, sunshine, please. Nice day, with 75 the high. Rainy Thursday and Friday and Saturday, but hey, already in this mid week day, and who do I see?



Yay, camel day Wednesday is here. The day we say, get over this mid week hump feeling day, and Fabulous Friday feeling then a day away. Woot! Pay day one for me.

And after getting up this morning, I’m felt like I am so ready for the weekend when I don’t have get up and move so fast out the door. And it’s our Mother’s Day weekend. And after those rainy end of the week days, a beautiful Sunday to start next week, makes this Mother’s Day a nice weather day. At least that’s the forecast. Hope it becomes much less rainy, and that beautiful day on Sunday is what really happens.

Yay, live report from Robo. I thought about booking that hotel, but we are at RPR, as got a great rate many months ago, that have never seen since. Early Fall fun already booked for two weeks, and saw SW Orlando has already advertised their Halloween tickets $39.99. Not a bad price for a night of fun there. I’ll be with little one. She’s not a horror fan. But will go with me one night at HHN. Have to reserve my free ticket this year. Hoping it is one of the nights we are there. And we will both enjoy that MK one, when they go on sale. Maybe twice, as bonus short days of fun and run the month after. Woot! Triple digit countdown still. But yay, sailing fun next month, with soccer viewing fun the month after. Summertime fun. Bring it on.

Usually, not much of a procrastinator. Today is an exception, playing cleanup batter, lots of little tasks that need cleared before they snowball.

Making my sauce & meatballs as they don’t need much attention once in the pot to simmer away. Will be drooling all day, ‘real’ Italian food among my favs.

Beautifully designed and visually stunning, but not much to do if you can’t get on the Ministry ride. (I couldn’t) I didn’t do the queue walk through

That had to be disappointing, hope you do get on next trip. Appears you aren’t in the minority there.

Curious, tho…were you comfortable with using VQ with WDW? Puffing out chest, thot I was a pro, until the couple times we did get shut out lol.

I’ve been wondering if the majority of U fans, not being used to jumping thru VQ hoops or not having FOTL perk may be at a disadvantage there.

I started the 5th year HoS thread a couple of days ago on SW board. It is a very good deal for any time tix. Do have to purchase in multiples of two. Info in last year’s thread as to the various sale dates they offered. Years’ past they seemed to be standard sale periods.

HoS is how HHN used to roll before it got so slick and altered to more suit the public’s mainstream horror expectations. The scare zones @ HoS, alone, are worth the price of admission.

I only used VQ once at WDW and that was when Rise of the Resistance first opened. We were fortunate to get a time for that. They eliminated VQ at Tron and Guardians just before we went.
I heard rumors that some people were getting the VQ for party sizes larger than what they actually needed. Twice I got the VQ available link, but when I pressed it I got “Sorry there are no tomes available for a party of your size”. I would go back and the VQ link was still available, but I always got the same sorry message. Super aggravating since I was just a party of one

Yes, that is indeed an issue. Was shocked to see that EPIC guests have been caught by U attempting to sell their extra VQ spots on social media platforms.

Their technology doesn’t have current ability to have a friends & family sort of safeguard (or even tix linking to prove in the park for all). A definite flaw they need to address, sooner vs later.

Vacation was great. Dh and I did absolutely nothing, but decide if it was a beach chair or pool chair day and belly up to the buffet and restaurants for dinner. Weather was FANTASTIC and no seaweed the whole week we were there. Daily morning floats in the ocean followed by pool floating the rest of the day.

I have been dealing with some health issues the last year, and I have finally put some little pieces of the puzzle together. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. I am hoping that I am on the right track and hopefully have some testing done to confirm my suspicions.

Spring has finally arrived here in the great white north, which I am loving. It is nice to see trees starting to bid and green grass around.

Well, off to get more things off my desk.

Welcome back from vacation Pumpkin! Loved the pic of you sitting in your lawn chair enjoying the beach! That's my daughter's favorite pose while on vacation at the beach. On her last beach vacation a month ago, she said she had to decide what she wanted for breakfast, then back to the beach chair, then decide what she wanted for lunch, then back to the beach chair, and the same for supper. What a life
I was beginning to think you just might decide to stay on vacation when I hadn't seen you post for a while, lol.

Hope all goes well with your doctor's appointments. Glad to see that spring has arrived in your area. You are actually farther Norther than us, lol, which most people in the states aren't! We have finally reached Spring status with 70's and even up to the 80's this week. It's so wonderful to see green grass, flowers popping up, and sunshine again!

Soon, will get to spend a day there! The Mr is still in the dark as to “where & how long” his ‘surprise’ BD trip will be…it’s been difficult to keep it on the down low in general, and especially as we share an email account. Duh

Lynne - I seem to recall you’ve done Key West? Only a port day for us. Trying to decide if I want to just roam around, maybe do the free duval bus or the more touristy trolley. We do like museums, if we pick one, not sure whether to go with Hemingway or Truman Whitehouse. A place named “hogsbreath” jumped out at me, if only for a cool Tshirt for the mr. Any recommendations?

You’d think there would. It’s not like it was a mistake on their part. Should never be able to get financial gain off something like that at the cost of another guest’s experience.

Ok, here is the skinny on the VQ situation at the Ministry of Magic……and before I get started it was one of the major complaints of all the guests visiting Epic and this is coming from an honest nice TM who couldn’t even get a VQ on TM preview.

My assumption is that if you have one or more folks in your group trying for a VQ then you have better odds of getting one, but that being said if everyone in your group puts down 3 or 4 in your party and 2 or 3 three out of your party all get in then you have locked up numbers from the single person who just wants one and everyone else.

I will tell you that the VQ was down in seconds when it came up. So if you did not have fast fingers and did not know what you were doing you were out of luck.

I think that they are having issues with the VQ system. This ride is down more then it is up so I think that was having a lot to do with the VQ being down quickly, but not sure.

I stopped and talked to a TM to make sure I was doing everything right and I was and I still was unable to get a VQ after 6 try’s. I would get in and get a time and immediately hit submit and it was gone everytime.

Oh……and a few times I walked by the outside entrance a sign was posted that the Ministry ride was on delay.

Now that I think of it. I wonder if you were actually lucky enough to get in and get a VQ time and those that got a time showed up and the ride was down had to come back. If that is the case there is no wonder the VQ would go down in seconds. Just wondering if that could be it. Not sure.

That is terrible……..When so many were trying to get VQ and were shut out. This was a major complaint by guests and Universal needs to address it.

One silver lining to this particular ride situation is that you can still go through the Chimney and into the Gallery of the Ministry of Magic even if you can’t get a VQ for the ride.

Their technology doesn’t have current ability to have a friends & family sort of safeguard (or even tix linking to prove in the park for all). A definite flaw they need to address, sooner vs later.

Me too…..Maybe it is my age or my shock to admit that there are that many rotten people out there who want to profit off of everything.

I will admit I would have liked to have ridden that ride which was the only ride at the Ministry of Magic Portal, but it did hot ruin my visit at all. I did enjoy going through the chimney and into The Ministry of Magic Gallery. It is awesome and a site to see for sure.

Ran into my first ‘hidden tarriff’ surcharge today. Caught it before check out and removed from cart.

On a $22 print, with free prime shipping. Linked to it had a “handling charge” pop up @ review in amount of another $16. Nope, removed it. Not about to play those games.

Well, I have read multiple posts from normies and influencers indicating that it’s quicker to just go for 1 VQ…then you show up at the ride and request all in your party be permitted access.

I understand it could be a mistake sort of thing one makes. However, if only X # of slots and even 1/3 of guests insist they have another 6 people in their group, things are going to slog down.

RoTR is infamous for going down even now, especially around 3 hours before park closes. My theory is:

1. They know they will never clear the LL that were sold

2. They don’t want to open up, get a big standby line and even more who hop in a few minutes before park closes…in order to not pay the staffing after hours.

Of course, I am a bit of cynic as to that side of the parks lol

I hope you are able to find out what is going on. I always tell people if you know what type of Dragon you have you can always find a way to either tame it or slay it.

It’s so true, when it comes to health issues, struggling with unknown can eat you alive.

TGIF - Quick stop in!!!!

It is a nice lazy day at work today. I don't want to say the " Q" or "S" word and then all heck breaks loose I did get 2 walks in today on my breaks. It was nice enough to get outside without it being too windy or a cold wind. I need to get more movement in. There is a nice walking path that if I start my watch when I Ieave the desk here, it is almost 15 minutes to walk the path around the hospital grounds and return to my desk.

I am finally getting to watch some youtube videos of Epic Universe. I have sent dh a couple of reels through fb. I'm almost 99.9% certain we will be planning a return trip soon with the boys. Both have expressed they want to go visit Epic park, and get to do some of the things we missed on our first trip there

It will be another year with lots of travel I'm thinking not that I am disappointed. I will need to be smart with my vacation time. I have 3 weeks, along with 3 personal leave days as well as one stat float day to use.

Well, I should get going and get caught up on some other threads I like to follow.

We return to Cancun area - close to Playa Del Carmen. We went to an adults only resort - which was great! I would highly recommend this resort to others. It was quiet, low key. If you are wanting a high party resort....this is NOT the one for you. They did have lots of fun adult things to do, but if you were looking for an all night disco - you won't find it there. The food was amazing as well.

Thank you for the comments on the health issue. It is worrisome when you start to put symptoms together you are experiencing, not thinking they are related, but know that something is not quite right.

Off to read Carol's trip report while a video plays on epic universe! I can't think of a better way to spend a lazy Friday afternoon at work.

Keisha, we liked KW. Hog’s Breath is a famous bar chain. I do remember getting a shirt from that KW one. I say, take the shuttle and enjoy the butterfly museum and the light house museum near it. If a clear day, the view from the top of the lighthouse is nice. Plus, gotta take that buoy picture that is not a far walk from the butterflies. Hemingway place was beautiful, as cats with that extra toe were around, and still decorated in the old style. If you have time, it was pretty setting. Little one still remarks when we see a house like the ones in that old house part. Such a pretty neighborhood all around that writer’s house. I spent a week with little one at the end of August, and a port visit with older one, the middle of January. Both visits had beautiful weather. Here’s me and older one when we visited:


And, while a cooler start here, glorious sunshine to persist all day. 70 the high. For weather today, that’s what a May day should be. And after a fully rainy, and cool Friday, so nice to have a full wall to wall sunshine filled weekend. 75 the high tomorrow. And of course more rain in the forecast all next week, making some 60’s high in the middle.

Super sized Saturday today, wish for all. A day to relax for sure, even if DH and I are already up. Good morning everyone.
