Something About Nothing............ #14

Quick hello. Nothing interesting to post about today.

Glad you had a good time despite the hurricane. What hotel did you stay in?
Ugh, can't believer you have snow already. The weather here can't decide if it wasnts to be fall or not.

He missed my boss again yesterday because one of her sessions ran over. He came back today and finally got to talk to her. If noting else he sure was persistent. She said he seemed really knowledgable about Amazon, but she still wasn't letting him set up an account for her. He sounded legit, but I still suspect something was not right. He never gave his name, contact info, or a business card.

Congrats! I'm still in the queue. At this point I don't even want to buy tickets. I'm just being stubborn.
If they have a soft opening for AP holders I might try to go then.

That does sound a little odd to say the least. To not give a business card sounds alarm bells straight away. I think anyone even the less technical people can set up an Amazon account, even a business one!

I took a nap after I gave up but my phone kept the tab open. I got up, did some paperwork and cleaned a bit. Sat down for lunch and saw that I had 16 minutes left. I'd honestly given up.

Worth persevering for and not too long compared to what some folks were waiting!!

Our high today was 82 so no snow for us today.

A week from now temperatures will be dropping to normal usual temps.

Will have the furnace on in November.

Had no idea what to fix for dinner.
Mr Mac said don’t cook which was fine for me.

Ended up at the local bbq place in town.

I love the sound of that bbq place near you!!

No, you don`t need to worry about snow very often lol.....

Beautiful sunrise!!!!

And this time of year we don`t have to get up early to see them! Nothing like a late sleep every single day I feel like it, the joys of being a lady of leisure.

Went walking with two of our friends this morning along the beach, it was so still with not a breath and the beach was surprisingly busy even a lot of horses down cantering along.

And quite warm today, almost 68F by lunchtime, not bad with November just around the corner.

Made a lasagne for dinner tonight, I do have to make a cheese for the top later and will bake some garlic bread slices later to go with it along with some salad, nice Friday night dinner.

Have a lovely Friday :flower1:

Happy Friday. Today's plans are super exciting. I'm doing laundry. Tomorrow I'm going to a wedding. Not really excited about that. I don't even know these people. The bride is one of dh's coworkers.

I tried all day yesterday and was never able to get to the page to purchase Epic Universe tickets. It just kept sending me back to the "buy now" page. I have accepted defeat and will move on. I will try to go of they offer a soft opening for AP holders. Dh is upset that he doesn't get to go, so I suggested January 2026. There should be a few days in early January that aren't blockout dates, but before he has to be back at work for Spring semester.

It was a total cluster for me too. I went back and modified my entire account with the same info and resubmitted before I was able to get on.

What sort of modifications did you do? I tried everything I could think of with no luck. I called Universal today and they are going to research the problem and get back with me.

Very quiet day today. Had to make a call to the water company. My last bill showed 0 water usage for the past month. They are sending someone out to check the meter.

I hope you enjoy the wedding today Charade, hope it`s a lovely day for the bride and groom.

Good Saturday morning

Up earlier than planned this morning, having a cuppa while it`s still pitch black out there, another 40 minutes or so till sunrise. Our village has an event on today, so we`ll pop in for a couple of hours to enjoy that, going to be sunny with low 50`s, hat and scarf weather for me!

Just made up the pancake batter for breakfast with bacon and Maple Syrup we brought home from Orlando with us then walk into the village I think as it`s going to be so nice. Meeting some friends there and might go to the pub for lunch with them, only planning snack items for dinner tonight, will pick up some goodies at the stalls set up today, there`s always some lovely options.

Planning to watch The Greatest Showman tonight, going to make spicy pineapple margaritas, that with some snacks for us, ideal Saturday night. And looking forward to that extra hour in bed tonight into tomorrow!!!

Have a lovely Saturday :-)

Re entered all my info again, even AP serial numbers. Very frustrating. Took a few minutes going thru ideas to get it to allow me in queue.

Good Saturday morning everyone :wave2:

Oh last thing he needed was a cold!!! With any back issues coughing is a million times worse on top. But glad his pain from surgery is subsiding, however it does sound like your family are getting rained on so to speak, sending all good wishes everyone feels much better soon.
Thank you Carole. Hubby is chugging along. I feel so sorry for him getting sick so soon after his back surgery. He is still weak, but making progress.

Granddaughter in Kentucky is waiting to hear how her CT turned out.

Great-Nephew is still doing well after he was discharge from hospital.

Yea! I am so happy that all that low back and leg pain is gone. That's a big improvement for him. :)
Hubby’s back and leg pain are gone. Surgery was a success. Just need to get him over this respiratory illness.

We celebrated my Mom's 97th birthday last week too with much celebration. We had our big family dinner Saturday night which was very nice. She is doing great and is always in good spirits. She lives alone in a seniors apartment and is active in their activities. She just amazes me!
WOW…..what a wonderful celebration to have for your mom. She really sounds like a go-getter. So wonderful she is doing so well and living on her own.
Happy 97th birthday to her.

My son and I are 11 days from leaving for our mother/son trip to Universal. It seems like we have been waiting for a long time, and here it is almost here:) We are staying at the Royal Pacific Resort and are looking forward to some down time at the pool area and lounge and of course all the attractions too:) He is very easy going, so I won't have to run to keep up with him, LOL
It will be here before you know it.

Prayers for your family.
Thank You Charade. Hope your stomach is feeling better.

Hope he is feeling better now and won’t run into any mire complications.
Just trying to get this respiratory illness better.

Oh yah - we got snow on Monday - which I'm sure you all know I was sooooooooooooo happy about :sad2:
So good to hear you all were able to enjoy your vacation even though the Hurricane threw you a curve ball. I look forward to reading your trip report.

Snow already no……….

Quiet Saturday here. The leaves are falling in earnest around earnest. Whether is nice getting in the upper 70’s during the day.

Hubby is getting around better. He is still weak from the respiratory illness, but we saw our primary MD this week and the back surgeon. Primary MD gave him some meds to help with cough.

Surgeon took out staples in his back yesterday. He is pleased that hubby’s back and leg pain are gone. Hubby is overjoyed to be pain free. Surgery was a success. Now just need to get him well from this respiratory illness.

Have already been getting Christmas presents pulled together. Always like to be organized for the holidays.

I bought some charms and made necklace, earrings and bracelet for two of our granddaughters who like Harry Potter. These are their respective houses.
IMG_4455.jpeg
We always give everyone money, but I like to give them something to open too.

Did some cleaning early this morning now just getting caught up on somethings online.

Hubby is watching football.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

I just now have free time and wanted to count noses tonight and check up on how everyone is doing.

Ended up getting a phone glitch and lost everything I had written out.

Decided to give up on any more posting this evening as just spinning my wheels here.

Going to watch Charles Stanley then call it a night

Everything will be better in the morning

sleep tight homies

Will be back in the morning

Good Saturday morning everyone :wave2:

Glad to hear your husband is improving so well and great nephew too, continued good wishes that your GD gets good results from her CT scan!

Lovely gifts Robbie, yes I`m doing quite well with Christmas presents this year, I made a good start before we left and managed to pick up quite a few things in Florida, it does feel good to be organised as all of a sudden it`s there!!!

I agree with you, we always give money but there`s nothing nicer than giving them gifts to open too.

Hope you`re having a lovely weekend too.

Phone glitches or even Dis glitches are frustrating for sure especially if you have written out a whole long post and it disappears!!

I have no idea who Charles Stanley is?? Detective??

Hope you had a good sleep.

Love that extra hour especially as we had a late night movie watching and enjoyed a couple of cocktails, opened one of those huge bottles of Tequila we brought back, I had Spicy Pineapple Margaritas, Tom had Tequila Sunrises so it was a lovely Saturday night.

Had the windows open during the night as it is so mild and today although a little chilly, it is a gorgeous morning, sun is splitting the trees for sure. It will rain tonight though.

Doing chicken in the slow cooker today with all the usual veg, herbs and spices, not too hot though as Kyle is coming over for dinner and to watch the Mexican GP tonight, he likes his mum`s cooking!!! Going to make some chocolate ice cream today for him and I`ll bring an apple crumble out of the freezer for us

Not much planned today, laundry, going to order my Christmas cards from the Hospice up near my mum, we buy from them every year, beautiful cards and helps them massively, always pop in an extra donation too, they are a much needed facility sadly. My uncle died there, others too which is the reason we still donate so heavily.

Tom is still sleeping, he is really taking advantage of that extra hours sleep, will do breakfast when he gets up, I`m on my third cup of tea so far but looking forward to my Sunday usual of French Toast and poached eggs with bacon, can`t beat it and might not need lunch if sleeping beauty gets up much later!

Have a lovely Sunday :sunny::sunny::sunny:

:wave2:wanted to duck in and say hey. Will read back when my brain is functioning better.

Those who know me…know that I, ahem, tend to drag out vacations as long as possible. Stood on my head to reschedule this past trip (& pay thru the nose lol) to get it in before scheduled surgery a day after we returned.

Was truly a lovely trip, were having such a nice time. Then, I got suddenly sick:sad1: Scary sick, as my DH put it.

Wound up leaving 2nd HHN before 10 pm. couldn’t break fever. Called family dr, told to immediately come home, he didn’t want me down there & possibly hospitalized. mr was stunned I immediately called airline to come home ASAP. Double masked, under a blanket, don’t remember much of trip home. All i did was sleep for days.

Managed to infect one of my DS, sigh. DH, not a sniffle, Dorian Gray & all there :)

Covid and a secondary infection on top of it. Worse go-round for me yet, believe this is fourth time. Yes, I do have more vaxx than the average bear for it and everything else due to health conditions. Due for booster in December along with my flu. Can’t imagine how much sicker I’d have been without them. PSA covid is no joke

Of course my Tuesday surgery was cancelled, minimum 14 day period. They rescheduled for Election Day but, need physical this time.

Ah well, up and moving, even cooked dinner yesterday (hot dogs, hot dogs, hot diggity dogs) family was happy for real food.

Promised the ‘lil I’d hit up the haunt to see her work her craft again this year. Would never go back on that. Had her own room this year. Built her a boo hole door where she would run out on elevated platform toward guests, screaming “Daddy doesn’t like bad girls”. Very effective

The other two things I really like is that haunt doesn’t do conga lines, no groups larger than 6 and well paced so nobody misses a scare. They also work in accessing an actual coal mine where you scramble into the low mine car and get hauled into that section of the haunt, it’s really something different. Every year I do it makes me really appreciate the back breaking work my Dad did to provide a comfortable home for us.:lovestruc

Enjoy the weekend all, catch up soon.

Glad you`re back up and about again Janet, such a nasty time you`ve had with this. It can only get better now surely!! Poor lad that caught it from you, but hard to avoid. lol...love the Dorian Gray comparison!!

Your GD looks fantastic and that sounds amazing what she is doing, her own space....she must have impressed on her previous years. And yes, no conga line is what you want in a haunted house anywhere, SW have that done well.

Take it easy, don`t do too much and you`ll be back on your feet full time before you know it. ::yes::

Carole…do you hire out?
You are the most organized person I know.
You are setting up for Christmas and I am the type that sends cards out at the last minute.

lol.....I`m annoyingly organised according to friends!! I think they mean it in a loving way.....I hope!!

I adore Christmas and like to be very organised as we have a lot of gifts/money/cards to sort out, so if I start early I have a fighting chance of not missing anyone. I can see why it would be annoying though haha

It`s been such a lovely day and feels such a long day which is nice. Got our laundry done, Tom ironed which he does enjoy now and again, did some baking and made ice cream and generally relaxed this afternoon watching tv and internet. And it was completely dark by 5pm tonight, cosy winter nights are here.

Kyle came over around 4.30 and we enjoyed a lovely dinner and chatting the day away. Right now we`re all sat in the big screen room waiting for the GP in less than an hour.

And after such a lovely day, we have rain forecast for the middle of the night into the morning, we did think we might walk but I doubt it.

Kettle on for a cuppa, I`ll bring a tray through, although Kyle doesn`t drink tea or coffee so will bring him a fruit juice.

Hope your Sunday has been a good one.

A very good Monday morning!!

We have some rain this morning with more forecast this afternoon, it did rain a lot through the night but apparently we needed it for the gardens!

Had a lovely evening with Kyle over last night, nice dinner then we watched the GP which was ok and we have another GP next week so he`ll be over for that one too.

Busy week ahead between volunteering and helping get the village Halloween party sorted for Thursday, I`m only a helper thankfully, it`s a thankless task being the organiser and something I won`t do again! You certainly can`t please everyone so why try.

In between everything I have a hair appointment on Wednesday then the flu vaccine in the afternoon, I hope it doesn`t knock me for six as I have too much to do this week!!

Dinner is sorted for tonight, I made triple chicken yesterday in the slow cooker, so we have plenty left for us for tonight, will get some fresh veg today and top up with what we need and pop to the other farm for some eggs, we finished them yesterday so croissants with Brie and ham this morning, will warm them up so the Brie is ooey and gooey and more tea, on my second cup already.

Hope your Monday is a good one!
