Something About Nothing............ #14

:wave2:

Well, it`s been a while......I`m not even going to try and catch up what I`ve missed.....

May has been the busiest of months for us but all good!!

Kyle bought an apartment in January and he officially completed beginning of May, he took two weeks off work and we`ve been helping him rip stuff out and do it all up since then. A lot of work but we loved every second. He had wanted a place there for the longest time, but they very rarely come up for sale, so when a top floor one became available, he bought it and it is gorgeous....well it is moreso now!!! Happy he finally moved in last week and he`s only 20 minutes away from us, where he is now so many of his friends are in that area so it`s perfect for him and he is so happy there already.

We also got our whole home reroofed last month which was fun!!! We all stayed with Felicity and Henry (thank you again) two of our closest friends who made us feel like we were in a hotel for five nights, she stopped short of putting chocolates on our bed every night, but their hospitality was incredible. Where would we be without friends.

There were nights we didn`t get back till late so the interent was the last thing on my mind and honestly, a break from the Dis and certain odd posters can be a good thing at times.

Janet, mac and Ruth were brilliant listening to me share the details of all the work we did....heck we don`t even decorate our own home, but we did love helping him do his place up and thank you to Robbie, Pumpkin and Charade for asking after me during my mini break, the pm`s were nice to read from others too.

Back to normal after a weekend of not doing very much, back to volunteering again as is normal for us, went to school yesterday and it was nice, Tom has been doing a lot as they are very short handed so I`ve been cajoled to join them tomorrow too.....trying to catch up with everyone now :-)

Ah Keisha, hope all three in the hospital are doing well, and getting out soon. Yeah, kids saw those baseball tickets more than half the price of ours. I hope they dodge the rain too.

Good afternoon Schumi, I hope all is okay.

Hey all, it’s been a busy last few days here. Unexpected hospitalization for two of my DSs GM. weird situation all the way around, I always try to take the high road there and be supportive.

GD had another great elite track meet. Interesting as she doesn’t belong to a club, she competes unattached. The others have large groups of kids and pro coaches, lots of support. She has her Dad lol who has scrambled this year to learn the basics.

Ten hour event on the field. Brought our big pop up canopy, under it most of day. Packed coolers of drinks and various food stuffs. Thot I had the sunblock situation in the bag for myself. Haha not quite. I always spray my part. Should’ve worn a hat in the sun. Top of my head literally fried, as in I haven’t really brushed it well until this am when i showered. Scalp is peeling. Long as my hair doesn’t fall out.

she set a PR in 800 m run, took 1st in triple jump…same as the medals they also gave her from last meet. (The host team at that one failed to have them on hand last week eek). Got 4th in her other two events, long jump and 400 m. All in all a really fun but, long & hot day.View attachment 865738

Have had more in last year than entire dealings with SWA.

I’m at the point I’m tempted to book that always one far least expensive NS and wait for a flight change to switch to the better flight for same price.

City schools have heat at home day today. Will be flirting with 90 & high humidity. It’s been up & down here, mostly lower temps and tons of rain.

Have you considered installing a whole house generator? Well, it’s more of key elements in the home. I assume it will take a long outage for my mr to set up the smaller one we have that is manual start.

Aw, that’s nice to remember her that way.

Hopefully, the kids will dodge the rain coming this week. It’s funny, our tix prices are still very low for the Pirates. Often the stands are full of people wearing jerseys from the other team, so many people come for home stands. Especially, from California as our CoL is low.

Didn’t know there were trees. I do like them and have a few in my yard. Deliberately keep them pruned, they get so spindly.

Friends have been trying to convince me for years to book the last NS flight into MCO. Then, take one of the nearby hotel shuttles & stay the night, returning to MCO after eating the complimentary breakfast and pick up rental then.

They swear it’s ‘the best way’ to start off trips there. Um, I don’t see me doing it unless I’d save four digits lol. Just too eager to get settled in to wherever. Interesting to hear how people do prefer to travel though

Hate that 5 am flight out, have settled into late am one & getting to hotel by 3 pm, often room is ready. Whatever park open till at least 9 pm to bop into for a few hours.

Oh, I’m having flashbacks now…help me JK

Those are very nice ones. Perfect bead size, it really matters IMO for comfort on the arm.

Made so many of them last year to help GD for T Swift concert, then again for HHN my fingers hurt & those tiny spacer/seed beads were so difficult to see, let alone thread on the elastic. Good job!

We did the hide the cruise duck thing too, attaching personalized tags to a hundred of them.

She hasn’t mentioned either this year, I’m not bringing the subject up.

That’s very smart and who doesn’t love to stretch out a special celebration? Woohoo

I was so excited to discover that google flight finally included SWA into their mix. I put on those price alerts so fast this AM for all trips I’m considering this year.

Oh, yea! The mr hasn’t seen the GoG overlay on the ToT. Even tho a twilight zone fan, I thought it well done. Don’t laugh, I’ve been purposely avoid any videos of the land for the last, what 5 years?as I wanted to be surprised. Same as with the ride thru for Tiana

Hahaha. It’s been a dry spell. I had mentioned my eldest DS will be there for https://worldjrfootballchampionships.com/
. The city is really expected to be lively! Looks like you are guaranteed home games on the 13th & 15th.

Sounds like a great way to spend an anniversary. Unmelted chocolates can be a rare find in Florida, I learned that the hard way with chocolate covered strawberries.

Lovely picture Janet, your GD is a star!!!!

Quick morning stop in before I get started on my daily tasks :surfweb:

Quiet night last night. It rained most of day - and finally stopped around 9 pm. I was hoping to get outside last night and finish up the last of my planting into grow bags....but sadly with the rain, that didn't happen.

Dh went to bed early last night, after staying up Sunday night watching the hockey game. Took the opportunity to catch up on some calls to family members.

I got some ingredients pre-cooked as I brought pierogi casserole for a staff potluck today. It is a one week extravaganza of celebrating all the different days - nursing, management, admin, physician etc etc. Today is a pot-luck. The lunch room is filled to the brim with crock pots :rotfl: It looks like from the form that went out to sign up to bring something that there will be LOTS of yummy food.

30 Anniversary today! Planning trips and chocolate for breakfast. Best wishes for the start of everyone's week!!
Congratulations!!! I don't think there is a better way to spend the day ::yes::
Kids are doing a road trip starting tomorrow.
Sounds like they will have fun and be busy. Safe travels for them

That's AMAZING!!!!!!!!

I hope your ds's have a quick recovery.
Didn’t know there were trees.
I'll attach a picture of it. It sprouts new shoots all the time and the grass under the tree doesn't grow great. We do need to do some trimming on it. There is some parts of it that need to come out as they are old and dead. I will have to get our ds's to dig out the chain saw to make that happen. But it needs to be done.
:wave2:

Well, I should get a few more tasks completed. My tea is almost empty now - the signal to start working instead of sitting back and checking patients in ;)

Have a great day everyone!!!!

OMG....I may need someone to roll me out the doors of the unit. I love a good potluck but I ate WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much. I don't think I will need to cook dinner tonight for everyone. There is a little casserole left over - and I have a few sausages I could toss into the air fryer...and dinner is served.

Hello everyone. It has been a nice couple of uneventful days at work this week.
Nothing much going on here. Dh and I booked a room for an away football game this fall. It’s about a 3.5 hour drive for us. We wanted to go to the game that will be in Georgia, but for reasons I don’t understand it will be a Wednesday night game.

30 Anniversary today!
Happy belated anniversary!

Kids are doing a road trip starting tomorrow.
Safe travels for them.

Unexpected hospitalization for two of my DSs GM.
Hope everything will be okay for her.

Wow. Congratulations to her.

I just recently learned about Google flights. They sent me a really good rate on Delta, but it leaves at 7 am, so I would have to leave home around 4 am. Nope!

Well, it`s been a while......I`m not even going to try and catch up what I`ve missed.....

May has been the busiest of months for us but all good!!
Welcome back.

Our lilac tree.
Very pretty.

Ah that day of the mid week, and who do I see?

IMG_3545.jpeg

Hello camel, and he’s right, it’s that hump of a feeling day, where after today, Friday then only a day away.

And day where weather guy says we have a better chance of seeing rain today. My one rain percent giving weather app as to rain chances, says .64 inches to fall in the next 24 hours. And shows the chances are 15 percent from 6 pm through 4 am tomorrow. So just a smaller chance of not a lot of rain. And best part, mostly in the evening and overnight. So even though I have an umbrella in the car, I don’t think I’ll need it while I am out.

And while it was 64 degrees as I left the house, it felt warm, as oh so humid again in the early hours. Was so bright out too, as arrive just before sunrise. But after this clear start, clouds quickly rule the sky for most all the day, and night now too.

But as always, commute was fast enough, then parked in favorite spot, and in an almost too cool office. Do have a long sleeve blouse on, but may put that sweater jacket on, or bring out my little personal heater, that will blow warm air from the floor where it will sit near my feet. Used to wear winter type clothing in the summer, and summer type closes in the winter. For some reason, the buildings’ temps I have been in, have been toward the extreme temp. Ice box, or oven.

And so, tea from that cup, and may be like Pumpkin, food coma on my pot luck breakfast items soon enough. Will be at least another hour from now, as most in my office are not early time arrivals. But bagels, and more food are to come in. And we have a toaster, so I can see a toasted bagel to start that snacking all morning for me. Yay! And I hope we have cream cheese to go with those bagels. I’d rather have cream cheese than butter on my bagels.

Final thought, hope all have a Most Wonderful Wednesday today.

With Robo’s countdown that HHN lucky 13 days away. Woot, for coming up trip for Robo.

Quick hump day stop in!

Quiet day today in the unit. The casual co-Hort is in today - which is nice to have someone to chat with. Good thing we get along good. Similar personalities ::yes:: It's been a learning day as well. Learning to take over and be in charge of our digital boards - and this afternoon get to on-board a new employee who is starting soon. I will wear many different hats in this position - which will look good on a resume if I ever decide to move to different pastures.

Quiet night last night. Not much to do. Again - rain on and off - as well as a wind has picked up overnight. Today is a VERY windy day. I was hoping to go for a walk over my break - but I'm thinking it might be some walking around inside today to get some extra steps in.
Well, I should get going, as I seen something hit one of my work que again. Always little jobs to do that keep me busy!

Have a great day everyone!

Beautiful tree Pumpkin.

Busy day, volunteering with Tom this morning, they really are short staffed now but they are getting more helpers next week. Caught up with some emails and calls this afternoon, checked in on my niece who is recovering nicely from her surgery, nothing like mum and dad looking after you as you recuperate.

Tomorrow we have the village services up and down the country for the commemoration D-Day, so we’ll be in our village for the service in the morning, always an emotional one.

Off to bed, quite cool today and not much warmer for the rest of the week.

Good Wednesday evening everyone :wave2:

Love Bob the minion with Tim the teddy bear. Our little Jude loves his Tim bears from Universal. He sleeps with them every night.

Congratulations to your granddaughter that is a wonderful accomplishment.

Top of my head literally fried, as in I haven’t really brushed it well until this am when i showered. Scalp is peeling. Long as my hair doesn’t fall out.
Hope your sunburned head feels better soon.

WOW…..She is a very talented athlete.

Yes, those small seed beads are hard to see to thread on the plastic for sure. You are such a good grandma to make all those bracelets for Swift concert and HHN.

So glad to see you back posting Carole. Sounds like you were able to get a lot accomplished while you were away. A break is always nice.

Congratulations to Kyle on his new apartment. So nice for you to help him get things decorated. No matter how old our babies are they do need their mom and dad to help them sometimes.

I’am sure you are happy to get the roof work done. That was so nice of your good friends to take such good care of you by hosting you. Good friends like that are very special for sure.

Sounds like a wonderful potluck meal get together. So nice so many participated to help celebrate everyone.

Our lilac tree.
Beautiful tree.

Hope Ruth is well. Haven’t seen her post for a few days.

I tried posting in the morning and there was a glitch.

Had Doc appt this morning. Our Internist is a wonderful Doctor. She is a gem.

We had more rain today on and off so nothing accomplished in the yard today. Always tomorrow.

Days till vacation.

Looking forward to a little getaway.

Have a wonderful rest of the evening everyone.

Long but mostly uneventful day today. Spent most of the day dealing with insurance issues.

We have a Medicare client who has been self-pay until her therapist got approved to accept Medicare. We were allowed to retro bill, so now the client is owed a large refund. She wanted the therapist to keep the money, but I am sure there are some legal and/or ethical issues with that. She suggested that she give the money to the therapist’s husband instead. The therapist vetoed that as well. I suggested that if the client was really that adamant about giving away the money maybe she could donate it to a charity. I think that is what she is going to do.

I’d rather have cream cheese than butter on my bagels.
Most definitely. Dh only takes butter on his.

Tomorrow we have the village services up and down the country for the commemoration D-Day, so we’ll be in our village for the service in the morning, always an emotional one.
We live about 20 minutes from our National D-Day memorial. I imagine they have something big planned.

Almost midnight here so I should get some sleep.

Almost forgot the highlight of my day. I went through a fast dood drive thru on my lunch. The woman at the window thought I was 38. 😂

Good Wednesday evening everyone :wave2:

Thank you Robbie, we had such a lovely time helping him, we did joke we don`t even decorate our own home, we get a firm in, but he wanted to do it which meant "we" did it too lol.....some of his friends joined in too which was nice.

The roof was an odd one, there was nothing wrong with it, but on older properties it`s better to replace before any issues turn up and I think when we go to sell it, it will be an extra selling point as it is a big job, so we bit the bullet and went ahead. Oh we did joke to Felicity we`re booking in again soon for more of the same lol.....

Hope all went well with your appointment and a trip coming up is always nice.

Sending prayers for your niece that she has a full recovery.

Thank you, she is doing really well, this will make such a difference to her.

It`s a huge event here, I don`t think there are many places not commemorating how special today is for us.

Always nice to be thought of as younger, it does give one a boost.

I don`t usually watch tv in the morning but have been watching live from Normandy on one channel, such emotion watching those scenes.

Never forget is so appropriate for all those who sacrificed and took part.

Beautiful day here but a little chilly for June, so I think it`s going to be warmer clothes today going to the service, meeting some friends for lunch afterwards and popping over to Kyle`s tonight to drop a package off, it`s wonderful he is only a 15-20 minute drive away.

Have a lovely Thursday.

D- Day it is. A somber one. Lest we ever not forget those who lost their lives. I’m sure will be on the news all day, and was mentioned on my quick 10 minute day’s news when I first get up.

And the weather is rainy. After that rainy overnight, was a very light drizzle as I got out the door. Then oh so dark and so humid feeling. And so many red lights. What da heck. But as usual, only three of us coming into the complex, and I was the middle one. Parked, and no drizzle when I got out. 72 degrees said my car. Oh my, a warm start to the day.

Kids called early last night. They crossed our state in a very fast time. Their room looked nice, and they said a short walk to the ballpark. They were going to explore the area early evening when they called. I hope the game is in a dry and warm weather night tonight.

And the day we say, drink enough to feel hydrated. Time of year, heat stroke is real, so make sure you find shade or AC, and be hydrated when oh so hot out there.

Thirsty Thursday it is. May all enjoy this day and raise a glass or mug, as day that will live in infamy is tomorrow.

Morning all. Up bright and early as the mr said his eye appt was too, nope, closer to 11 am :snail: Had a minor medical procedure yesterday that I wasn’t all in with from the get go. The 15 min event stretched to 1-1/2 hrs and should’ve included anesthesia lol. It was deemed a failure within a few hours. :bitelip: Told it’s not unusual to need it repeated, sometimes multiple times. Not happening any time soon, if at all. Was happy to wake up feeling fine this am!

You are such a good grandma to make all those bracelets for Swift concert and HHN.
I gave it a couple of hours, she hammered them out. My primary function in that regard is $ :)
We were allowed to retro bill, so now the client is owed a large refund. S
Wow, i had no idea you could backdate Medicare coverage. Interesting. Sounds like a very nice lady to pay it forward, most would take the $ and run.
I don`t usually watch tv in the morning but have been watching live from Normandy on one channel, such emotion watching those scenes.
I need my AM news. Loving history, have been lapping up all the documentaries running over the last week. The President gave an inspiration speech, along with many of the other dignitaries.
I hope the game is in a dry and warm weather night tonight.
Well, a decent chance of a rain delay due to TS, but shouldn’t be more than an hour or so
