Something About Nothing............ #14

Finally a post I can reply in .

Never the urge to damage my Iphone but quite tempted to toss Mr Mac there on a few occasions…

lol....surely not!!!!

Almost ready to head out to meet our friends, I am starving now!!! So I`m ready for a decent meal in an hour or so.

It`s cold out there though, so winter coat on and i am determined to walk in these shoes, thankfully not too far as the car park at the restaurant is right beside it, so I can totter along inside.

Glass of wine before we head out I think!

I blinked and it was Monday

It was a buy weekend - but was a good weekend.

Friday night was a quiet night. We brought the Xmas tree inside. Dh still loves a real tree. We have found that the home depot has beautiful trees. This one seems to be losing lots of needles - but is still beautiful. It's very full of not many "holes".

Saturday we were up bright and early. We went out for breakfast before the stores opened and made a game plan. We were out until about 1:00 - then headed back home. I showered and did my hair while we waited for gd to arrive. She wanted to help decorate the tree. Tree was decorated, some Xmasy things put out, dd and gd set up the nativity box. Then it was off to dh's work Xmas party.

We didn't stay out too late. It had been raining on our way out to where the party was :headache: I mean - heck we've had all the other weather happen the last2-3 weeks. Dh didn't want to be out late with slick roads. And in my own true " classic gracefulness" while walking back into the house, slipped flat onto my back. Knocked the wind right out of me :o :sad2: :rotfl: I couldn't help but laugh at myself. But now, My shoulders and neck are killing me. I am hoping to get into my massage gal here quickly - even if it isn't ideal times for me to be away from work. I could barely get my pants on today   I think they would like me wearing pants at work lol.
Yesterday, we were out early again, Hit a few stores, picked up groceries, then home. I whipped up son-in-law's favorite dessert (no bake cheesecake) as we took everyone out for his birthday dinner then back to our home for dessert.

We got all our holiday shopping done over the weekend - which I'm surprised at. I may need a few stocking stuffers yet, but have the majority of them bought. New Pj's, a book, and a Xmas tree ornament craft for gd's Christmas Eve box is done too!!!

Your mister looks so comfy, one could almost fall asleep on that huge chair 😊

Have the best time!!!

Ouch that certainly sounded painful, glad you could laugh though!! A good massage will help you hopefully, you are bound to ache some. Glad you managed to get a lot done over the weekend. We`re big cheesecake fans and like you menitoned, always the no bake kind, we much prefer the chilled cream cheese/cream versions.

I do like real trees, but we only have real ones outside, inside all our trees are courtesy of Balsam Hill....yep, some folks say it`s cheating, but so easy.

Hope the aches heal, it`s not much fun trying to get dressed as you say lol.....

Well, I managed to walk in those heels in the end, the restaurant car park was practically full so Grant dropped us at the door, barely had to walk any distance but they looked fabulous on!!

Restaurant was lovely, food was really good and we had a lovely evening, I think that`s the busiest we`ve seen this place, but everyone is out for Christmas which is nice. The staff did an amazing job as we never waited long for meals.

They came in for a cuppa afterwards, I think she pinched one of my hall tree decorations on their way out!! She`ll bring it back, I hope.

Think we`ll watch a movie, late night and a late sleep tomorrow as we have been accustomed to doing quite a lot recently, that habit might catch on too, who knows

You have to laugh really!!!

Good Tuesday morning.... it`s getting closer :santa:🎄:santa:🎄:santa:

Slept a little later again as is becoming our norm this winter......:listen:

Maybe I`m a trendsetter, who knows!!!

Dull, cold and grey here this morning, not sure I want to leave the house as it`s so warm and cosy here, but we need to get some bits today and some more wrapping paper for Christmas gifts, seems I still have a load to wrap including two presents I forgot I bought!!

So, that and some fresh veg and we`ll be done today. Pop into the farm to check on them, they had little damage from the storm luckily, but we and others do check on them as they are getting up in age now.

Rosemary and garlic chicken tonight, will pick up some cream to finish it off, parmentier potatoes and whatever veg we pick up today. Still have some local Christmas cards to write too, they`re just ones we pop through the letterboxes, will do that today too.

Two weeks till Christmas Eve, and hopefully, I`m almost sorted with everything we need.

Have a lovely Tuesday :-)

::yes::

Taco Tuesday is here.

And that headless horseman, holding a taco instead of his head, was seen, as I drove into the city in a very foggy sky and wet road, in a muggy feeling predawn commute. Still very foggy out my window:

IMG_3721.jpeg

And so, that week day commute days commenced today. Sigh. But at least a bonus fun weekend to end it this week.

And with weekend fun planned until Christmas week, sister said probably no baking this year. I said, well, at least that weekend before we can have one day to bake. DH asked for the chocolate pretzels that we usually make. So I told her, I’m thinking two or three types of cookies, and the chocolate pretzels, and chocolate covered marshmallows are what we can probably make in a day.

So yay, fun and maybe baking coming in the next two weekends. Woot!

Yay, more holiday fun pictures from Keisha’s cruise. Enjoy that warm weather on your ship.

And prayers given to Ruth, as travel to see brother. Never easy.

More of bottle heated water just for another cup of tea. Going to be that kinda day.

Hope all have a most Terrific Taco Tuesday, the one where a Taco Bell run may be just the perfect day to do so.

Quick early morning stop in.

Woke up feeling much better this morning. My back and shoulders are not nearly as stiff and sore as yesterday. I basically sat last night in my chair with my heating pad on my upper back. Just like a little old granny :rolleyes1 I felt like I was about 80 years old. But it must have done the trick. My back is still stiff and sore - but not nearly like it was yesterday. So that's a good thing.

Whipped up some soup and grilled cheese last night. I couldn't muster up the energy to make much more than that lol.

11 more days until Winter Solstice. It is time for the days to get brighter again. We also have had many days of overcast grey skies and not seeing much actual sunshine.

Today I used the rest of the of the cookie dough I had in the refrigerator for the Pecan Tassies.
Those look delicious!
When I first got the CPAP I was in denial and fell out of compliance so my insurance company stopped paying for my supplies. I’m doing the new study so I will have insurance coverage again.
I think I may need to get tested to see if I need one of those as well. Dh (who has trouble sleeping and is awake at all different times in the night) has been telling me I'm snoring and gasping for air :sad2: After Xmas I will go to my Dr. and get set up for a sleep test.
That sounds like crazy weather. It's nice when the weather is icky like that and you don't have to go anywhere and you can just stay home and stay warm.
i'm not too excited lol
Have the best time!!!!! I would love to see more pictures!!!!
Still very foggy out my window:
ewwww. That is not fun to drive in either. Hopefully it will be gone when you have to go home.

It sounds like you've had some crazy icky weather too! I would rather stay home instead of being out being in the elements as well. I will be wrapping gifts tonight. I will have a beverage, turn on a movie and wrap some gifts!

Well, I should get some work done here.

Have a great day everyone!

Glad you`re doing better, yes heat pads become an essential once you pass the age of 40 it seems!!

Our weather does sound similar, these short days feel quite long for some reason, which isn`t a bad thing.

My idea of bliss, Christmas music, glass of something red, white or sparkly and wrapping presents.

Nice afternoon doing that, I had mentioned to one friend that`s what I was doing this afternoon, by some coincidence......another friend appeared with a load of her presents to wrap too, she likes my wrapping station which is nothing special, but I laughed when she txted she was on her way over!!! Lovely afternoon with her though and we did get mostly everything wrapped along with a lot of chatter and laughing!!!

Hope your day went well!!

More tea anyone........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It`s a cold one out there tonight, chicken with garlic, cream and rosemary was beautiful, clean plates all round which I love to see. Home made apple crumble with yep, home made custard too, very moreish dish! And then tea, proper tea of course.

Tonight has been catching up with some family on the phone and making some plans for when we go up which is coming around quickly. December is rumbling along faster than lightning right now!

Should get last of the presents bought tomorrow and wrapped by the weekend, all cards have gone now, just a few to hand deliver with gifts.

Almost bedtime here, but think we`re going to put a movie on up there tonight, no need to get up early for anything....early retirement certainly has it`s benefits.

Hello. Quick bedtime post. I got a call from the sleep clinic yesterday asking if I wanted to come in since they had a cancellation. I decided to go ahead and get it over with. The rooms at the clinic were very nice, more like a hotel room than a hospital room. Of course once they got me hooked up with everything it was nearly impossible to sleep. I was there from 8 pm last night to 6 am this morning. I went home, showered, and went to work. Probably not the best idea. I was so sleepy all day. After work I went home and took a nap.

Great photos. Looking forward to seeing more.

If you are gasping for I would definitely recommend a sleep study. I hate wearing the mask, but I sleep so much better with it.

Speaking of sleep, I need to get some more. goodnight everyone. 😴

Now back home from the mexican restaurant we usually go to.

The place always has a full crowd.
We got the last available table this evening.

Will be watching tv rest of the night.

Hope you had a nice dinner, sometimes an evening watching tv is nice.

Well, glad it`s over for you this time, how soon do they get back in touch with you? I would hope the rooms were hotel/bedroom like, but still, hard to fall asleep on demand.

Another dull, grey and chilly day today, not much sunshine ahead for us, but quick shopping trip this morning, I know exactly what I`m going for and what I need from the farm store and then back home to bake for a couple of village events coming up.

Tom is off out volunteering this afternoon so will get on without anyone "nibbling" the wares! Will keep me out of mischief too. Sunday morning will be cookie baking for Kyle`s office colleagues, they only ever request ooey gooey chocolate cookies and petticoat tails shortbread, both are gorgeous even if I say so myself!

I also need to try and get a wiggle on with the TR, it`s been too long now, I need to get a move on with it, but finding time isn`t easy especially this time of year.

Hot honey flatbread filled with spicy chicken and some salad for lunch, served like a gyro, dinner will be something?....not sure what yet!

Time for another cup of tea then we`ll head out before the crowds hit. Might put on The Wizard of Oz while I bake today, haven`t seen it since last year!

Have a lovely Wednesday

Ho-Ho-Ho
🎅

Ah, that light rain as I got into the car, then moderate rain the first mile or so, ooh some foggy parts, then light rain, enough for intermittent wiper action, finally lucky, as neared the entrance, no rain, just muggy and oh so dark. Not much better now either, at 7:30 this morning:

IMG_3723.jpeg

But who do I see in that rainy start to a full day of rain, and predicted even throughout the evening?

IMG_3722.jpeg

Camel, it is that rainy weather Wednesday. The day, we say, get over this hump of a day feeling day, and Friday, fabulously arrives a day later.

Weather. Rainy weather. Yes, that mid week ending of our total rain amount to be a little over one and a half inches. We do need it, and glad the air that brought it to us, was warm, and no ice, sleet, hail or snow to contend with.

Though that colder air will chase that rain away, before the next day starts. Then a three day wall to wall sunshine days to end this week. Yes, and 63 the high temp today. Next three days high temp? 39, 37 and 39. Nope, not the time of year to put that winter wear away. But yay, today, my lightweight rain jacket, and short sleeved blouse.

Getting that ever closer to two weeks of holidays to end this month and start the new one. Where we will all try to remember to write 2025 and not 2024, when the new year starts.

Weather news. Yes. I guess perfect for this thread. SAN.

Most Wonderful Wednesday to all today.

Well, glad it`s over for you this time, how soon do they get back in touch with you? I would hope the rooms were hotel/bedroom like, but still, hard to fall asleep on demand.
I think I should know something within a few days. They gave me an information sheet but I was too tired to look at it yesterday. I was expecting the rooms to be more hospital like. I’m very glad they weren’t.

Weather. Rainy weather
Same here. It poured all night and morning. I’m wearing my new rain boots today.

note to self…buy new calendar before end of the year.
I always wait until day after Christmas when they are usually half off.

Is this the thread where you learn how to make enough posts to be able to PM? I am new here. Hello everyone! Could you say hi! I am in Memphis, TN.
Not officially, but you may post to this thread as much as you like. We talk about everything.

I’m on lunch break right now. It’s a slow day, so I have been working on getting the therapists schedules set for next year. One therapist is changing her appointment start times and that is throwing off the whole schedule.

Good morning everyone :wave2:

The brass band perform in all weathers, from Armistice Day, Easter Parades, Christmas to anything in between, they are a class act. It was a big success in the end which was good to hear.
What a nice way to share their talent with everyone.

MRI didn`t go so well, but not for the reasons one would think......Yep, that`s a very long and boring story, awaiting another appointment at some point.
Sorry to hear your MRI did not go well. Sending lots of prayers that all goes well on your follow up appointment.

So, headed through to the kitchen and three of us indulged in three dozen of them while Tom pretended to watch the wild and woolly weather outside!!! He hates oysters! I always have lemons and Tabasco, so we devoured them with relish!!! They each had some wine, he only had half a glass as he was driving and we facetimed our friends in Orlando right now, it`s cold for them!!! They`re supposed to be doing the Luau at RP tonight, but if it`s cold they`ll pass.
What a nice treat your friends brought by. Fresh Oysters are a treat for sure.

At first glance I thought this was a typo. Hope you are feeling well tonight.
It is a kinda of joke between Nurses. Propofol the med they used to put you to sleep for procedures like EGD and Colonoscopies etc is a white liquid IV medication. Thats why we call it milk of amnesia. You are off to sleep with a little bit of that in your IV line.

Later this month I am scheduled for a sleep study so I can get a new CPAP. Mine is 10 years old. This appeared in my Facebook feed today.
I hope your sleep study goes well and your insurance approves you for a new machine.

Looks like a good start to your cruise. You will have to let us know how you like the cruise overall. I saw someone on youtube that didn’t like the rooms, but said the food was amazing. Always like to get an overall take.

We got all our holiday shopping done over the weekend - which I'm surprised at. I may need a few stocking stuffers yet, but have the majority of them bought. New Pj's, a book, and a Xmas tree ornament craft for gd's Christmas Eve box is done too!!!

Sorry to hear about your fall. Yes, as we get older those falls can makes lots of things hurt after. I saw you said you were feeling some better. Glad to hear it. Sending get well prayers your way.

Two weeks till Christmas Eve, and hopefully, I`m almost sorted with everything we need.
WOW……doesn’t seem like it should be here so soon already.

It`s not going to be an easy time for any of them, but she knows we send all our love to her for what will be a difficult visit.

So glad to know she is getting to spend time with her brother. Just being there will help her and him so much. Lots of love being sent for them both.

I was going to post yesterday then things got busy.

I needed to get a few things done and posting went out the window.

I did get Christmas cards delivered to the Post Office and a few other errands done yesterday.

I received a package I ordered from Walmart yesterday evening and the item had been separated from its paired item and another item that doesn’t belong to it was added. The order was filled and sent from a Super Walmart that is 7 miles from me. So I went to the that Walmart and they had the correct item. So it was figured out. I talked to the lady at the service desk and she said who ever packaged the item in the store cut the plastic joiner piece and separated the items that belonged together. Was fixable, but defeated the purpose of ordering items and getting order delivered to the house.

It is dreary day today again. The high is supposed to be 41 degrees. So cooler day for sure.

The repair man was here to try and fix my double wall ovens. The top oven stopped working, but the bottom works ok. He had ordered the part after stopping here last week and seeing what the issue was. So he showed up early this morning and took the oven out of the wall and now he needs to order another part for the mother board. The Part should be here next week. So positive is that the bottom oven is still working until the part arrives to repair the upper oven.

We looked at maybe ordering another new double oven, but all the new ones are too wide for my cabinetry. My oven is still in great condition and is about 20 years old. So just happy we are going to be able to get it fixed it.

So enough with the oven situation. Something about nothing for sure.

Hubby is down for a quick rest. He is stronger some days than others.

Trying to wrap up the Christmas shopping. Still have a few things to be delivered.

Going to make some Turkey wraps for lunch. Then putter around the house.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone doing
