Something About Nothing............ #14

Yeah the newest ant man movie was just okay, I agree Keisha. Me too, will watch Loki and Agatha. Hope your doctor visits today, go well.

So bright and sunny out. View from office window:

A few boards up. Under the Cruise board is the Disneyland Boards where the TR`s are too.

They do move TR`s if they aren`t on the correct boards, I remember one woman made a fuss when hers were moved from one board to another several years back, but they did end up in the right place as most of her trip was where they moved it to.

Been a gorgeous day, sun has gone now, but it`s still warm enough to be outside, but came in as I had a few calls to make. Now sitting down to a very decent pot of tea, something we didn`t get in America....not complaining though, they do most other things rather well. Just not tea.

Watching some tv tonight I think, definitely a lazy evening ahead. One of my friends asked if we wanted to head down to the beach and walk on the promenade, but we said no, not ready for that quite yet. We only live five minutes away from the shore, so we can go when the mood takes us. Maybe next week.

The sea is incredibly calm though looking at it, we have not a single breeze around us, might have been nice to walk, but maybe another night as the weather looks amazing going forward for a while.
It's good to hear you are over your jetlag. That must be a pain in the ...... to deal with !
Enjoy your day of rest:)
We bought most of our flowers today. It was so much fun picking out flowers from our favorite florist. I confess I over spent, but I love them all! We are down to 4 flower gardens from 7 or 8 when we moved here. So I think that's an improvement. I am going to buy more perennials so I don't have to plant so many anymore. I love planting flowers, but it gets a little harder to do when you get older, LOL. Roger and I are going to plant them all this evening. So much fun:) Then we water them everyday until fall. I will take pictures when they all bloom and look good. That will be a while though.

Going to get lunch and rest up now! (It's my usual apple, crackers, and cheese lunch), but that leaves lots of room for treats! :)

A other day bored out of my mind. Caspian woke me up around 2:15 this morning and I wasn’t able to get back to sleep until after 6:00. I am trying not to fall asleep at my desk.

I did not renew my AP last year since I had no idea when I would get back to the parks. I am purchasing a new one this year. I hope to use it at least twice before it expires. I may take a break from theme parks for a couple of years and take some of the other trips I have been wanting to take.

I have an hour and a half left before I can leave work. A week from now I should be on a plane heading to CA.

Love it. Tide pen vs the world!

I feel the cat meme lol

How have I missed this dish? Never thot of salmon & eggs cohabitating.

Will say, despite not being an avocado fan; discovered I do enjoy avocado toast. They had it every am on the cruise. Was seasoned differently vs the bland, runny sort I’ve sampled in past. Ate my share of the daily salmon topped varieties

Finally, watched the newest ant man movie. Strange, not in a good Dr Strange way. They way they have the Marvel universe set up, if you miss one; you will be somewhat lost. Looking forward to Loki 2 & Agatha/coven of chaos

Thinking on a raisin bagel & cream cheese for a late breakfast. Will be out till late afternoon with dr & shopping

Good day all!

lol....those tide pens!!! I have many happy friends today......B&B products are second to them.....

Eggs Royale is a preference of mine for sure over Benedict, some folks love smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, but weirdly, I won`t eat it that way, but poached.....gorgeous!!

Avocado Toast is gorgeous....even Tom eats it and he doesn`t like avocado`s much at all. Glad you found you enjoyed it.

Now Bagels.......not for me, I don`t quite get the appeal of them. My Jewish friends don`t like them either I`m glad to say.

Hope the appointment goes well today Janet....

Usually we get over it immediately, but I think the flight time difference must have played a part, although I`d do that flight again in a heartbeat.

Your flowers sound beautiful and yes, it`s not an easy thing as we get on a little. Our gardener is in his mid 30`s, so he can deal with anything...thankfully!!! Look forward to your pictures, your other ones were gorgeous.......it`s nice having such a lovely view with no industry around....... :-)

Enjoy your lunch!!! If it allows treats, then all good.

I hope you get to change your job soon Charade, it doesn`t seem to be a challenge to you, it must make the day so long when you`re bored as much.

Only a week away......you and your family must be so excited.

Thai food was delicious.....the lady on the phone was one we didn`t know, she was hard to understand, so one of the dishes was not what we asked for, we called them back and they sent the correct dish out in 15 minutes. Food is beautiful and nice and spicy and we got to try a dish we hadn`t tried before.

Now going to sloth along the sofas together......might watch Rush Hour, have a hankering for some Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker humour. And a glass or two of red wine I think, I`m sure I heard a cork pop as I passed the kitchen earlier.

Holiday weekend coming up here with a Bank Holiday on Monday......everywhere is so busy so we tend to avoid touristy places here.

Time for tea........

I hear ya Charade. Glad you got rental down some more. Hope your cat lets you sleep well tonight.

So happy tomorrow is Friday. At least while took me the same amount of time to get home, the traffic did not seem as bad. Thinking many are starting their vacation for a long weekend a day earlier.

Almost time for me to get to bed. Hope all have a good night sleep tonight. 😴

Another drop in car rental rates. This time it’s $56 lower than the last booking. So far we have saved $238 off the original booking. I wish the hotel rates would drop, but it looks like that’s not going to happen.

It`s nice to get a drop for rental cars. We used to book ones you couldn`t change, but using different brokers this trip we saved almost $600 from booking and it came down to just over $1,100 a few weeks before our trip, not bad for 3 weeks.

Good Friday morning from a lovely sunny UK.......seems we`re having a heatwave!! Not here by the coast as it`s always a little cooler here, but nice enough to be outside in the sun. My idea of a heatwave is more in line with Orlando temps than what we actually get....but shouldn`t complain.

Had eggs royale again this morning with copious amounts of tea, very refreshing and a nice start to the day, although we did enjoy another late sleep this morning......love doing that, no prizes or accolades for being an early riser, would rather be snuggling!!

Decided to not go anywhere today either, getting some groceries delivered in an hour or so, then plan to sit in the garden all afternoon and just enjoy the tranquility.

Lunch will be light, maybe some chicken with salad, but getting the grill out tonight and will bbq a few things, just a selection to nibble on, going to make potato salad or maybe coleslaw too.

Holiday Weekend here for some, not everyone gets Monday off, but Kyle will be off so maybe we`ll take him for lunch if he has no plans although he probably will have plans. We`ll see.

Happy Friday though.......

One of our friends sent this to all his female friends, he knew the risk he was taking but he sent it anyway :rotfl:

His wife laughed harder than any of us!!!

Ah that low weather systems is still around, but so is the clear sky. So 49 degrees out and 71 the high today. But not complaining. Warmer days are later next week. And ack to those down our shore. They end the holiday weekend with Monday’s high of 60 degrees and rain around. Thankfully, I live just far enough from the shore, I get a cloud covered day, but a high of 82. So yeah, I’m glad I’m not one of the many going down the shore this weekend. And yay, while it may be only 78 degrees for our picnic day, the partly sunny day will be prefect to be outside, and maybe enjoying a swim in the hopefully heated pool. Woot! Holliday weekend for us. And having to get thorough this most sunny and cooler Friday.

Good morning and hope all have a most fabulous Friday.

Yay!

@keishashadow you must try the Salmon Benny. That’s what it’s called here! So good. I just found a new love, Yorkshire Benny, yum.

I was shocked at how much passes went up. I think Universal gained a lot of customers sick of Disneys high prices. Keeping prices reasonable. Hope they’re not going the way of wdw. I shudder to think of what price will be when new park opens. My AP expires in October too. Will have to do some thinking on what this year will bring.

@schumigirl oh that letter! I’ve seen it before and still funny. Must admit my sister in law was a little like that. Always made me groan inwardly!

@Charade yay for car rental drop. For last Feb trip I stalked Costco car rental. Price goes up and down like a yo-yo.

Everyone having a long weekend, enjoy. We had ours last weekend. Victoria Day.

Yesterday had a wonderful day, was taken out to lunch by my neighbourhood friends at a waterfront restaurant in our town for my birthday. It’s part of the Landry’s Chain. The Boathouse. Then my daughters took me to dinner and a movie- Guardians of the Galaxy. On Saturday we’re having a family & friend dinner here. More birthday celebrating lol. DH is doing the BBQ. I requested ribs! He really does them well. I like a dry rub.

Another beautiful day here. This morning have to bake some Pumpkin loaves for the church bake sale tomorrow. Then tonight going to the ladies neighbourhood Bunko game night.

Got home late yesterday afternoon, and now I'm vegging on the couch, sick. The little scratchy throat turned into full blown "can't swallow without agony" and I've also developed a headache, sneezy runny nose and sinus pressure. No fever though. So luggage is half unpacked, laundry still to do, but it'll have to wait. I put a mask on to pick up a few needed things at the grocery store, didn't want anyone else to get sick.

Like some here, I will probably let my AP's expire in September and wait a couple of years before I go back, at least until Epic Uni gets going. We had a good time, but there are just some post Covid issues that still aren't resolved and probably will never be as the entire world is a different place now. And to pay so much more for AP's, hotels and food when the overall value just isn't there is something I can't do anymore as a retired person. So I'll probably take a little break from FL trips for awhile.

Hey all!

Waiting for jr to come round, taking my two Dave’s out for early BD dinner. I’ve been known to stretch out celebrations :rolleyes1

Guessing the DTD one doesn’t fall under their umbrella

The musing over letter U APs go & folks coming home with vacation bugs seems to be trending here! Feel better soon

Hope you feel better soon Aurora.....there were a lot of bugs for sure going around, we got our fair share for sure. Kyle had it really bad with his nose and I got a weird 12 hour flu??? What`s that all about.......

Laundry can wait, you need to feel better......plenty of rest and water!!

I love how you celebrate your family birthdays!!!

Now Im singing the "I`m a lumberjack" song......lol.....

Lazy Friday......enjoyed a lovely BBQ earlier and opened a new gin to try, think I found a new favourite. You can really taste all the herbs in the gin, it is beautiful and very smooth. This was one of the bottles we brought back from America.

Tom cooked our food well, had some filet, spicy chicken skewers and made some gorgeous potato salad and coleslaw. No need for snacks tonight.

Heading to bed soon, still so warm out, very nice though.

Aurora hope you feel better soon. Mummy dust well wishes sent to your home for you.

Little one is a good cook. Grilled steaks, cut them up, sharp cheddar slices, grilled onions and tomatoes, with red peppers, and freshly bought rolls we picked up while getting lunch today, and our version of steak sandwiches for a later dinner. Delicious. Nothing like filet butt pieces to be the steak in our sandwiches. And we all love a grilled steak. And by afternoon, day felt warmer than it said it was out.

Tomorrow, helping to prep for the picnic. Let the snacking and tasting commence tomorrow.

Alarm off and enjoying a nice evening. Big cup of tea.

Good evening everyone. Today was errand day. Went to Walmart to get sunscreen and a few other things we will need for vacation. Also had a meeting with dh’s employer’s benefits coordinator to discuss the upcoming year. That wasn’t very exciting.
We are also dealing with a sick cat. Caspian has had diarrhea for a couple of days and today he has vomited several times. The vet thinks it is just a reaction to the anesthesia he had last week. She has put him on a bland food diet and a probiotic. I am praying the this is a simple tummy bug and will pass soon. This couldn’t have come at a worse time. Other than the diarrhea and vomiting he seems to be fine. He is still drinking water, not lethargic, and still tries to fight us.

That IS a good rate. I think dh is getting a little annoyed with me for constantly checking the rates. He is tired of rebooking, so I told him that next trip I will take care of all reservations.

Saw this on my Facebook AP page:

Looks like signage up now. Wasn’t on Saturday when we were there.
Awesome. Do they have an expected opening date?

Got home late yesterday afternoon, and now I'm vegging on the couch, sick.
Hope you are feeling better soon and it’s a short illness.

I’m not ready to start packing yet, but tomorrow I might start organizing my clothes for the trip. I had forgotten that I bought some new shorts. I need to wash them before the trip.

Yay, trip getting that much closer, Charade. From what I read, sometime this Summer. I hoping to try it out in September, though little one wants to visit soon. Maybe, but have to keep checking the rates of all. Hope your cat feels better real soon.

can’t go wrong having gin and bbq!

It was so darn good!!!!

My husband cooks everything perfect!!! Not as good as me though......but on the grill, yes, he`s a star!!

I think Tom quite enjoyed checking the rates and seeing it coming down, yes, it was the cheapest we`ve paid for years for a rental car. To be honest we`d pay whatever it was as we do like to have a car on our trips.

Enjoy the prep for your trip, always nice.

And one of our lovely ladies has a celebratory weekend.....and today is her youngest son`s birthday and a special one too!!!

Hope he has a lovely day, I know you`ll make it very special for him Janet........🎉🎁🎂

Gorgeous day here again, think it might be the best day of the Holiday Weekend, so we`ll pop out this morning before it gets too busy, get what we need and spend the day in the garden again. Will get the grill on and Tom can cook for lunch and dinner. I think Kyle is stopping by when he comes back from his work trip, so we can feed him before he heads out. Looking forward to hearing all about his trip albeit mostly work.

Think we`ll have some more filet tonight, that`s his favourite and will make a chocolate dessert of some kind for him and Tom, maybe just ice cream for me unless I make a mini cheesecake.

Lunch will just be snacky mini chicken or shrimp skewers and grilled pineapple.

Might make some mango jalapeno margaritas this afternoon! I`m sure some of our friends will drop in at some point, a few still have to pick up their all important tide pens and B&B products!!
