Something About Nothing............ #14

The ice cream place near my office has decided to start celebrating taco Tuesday.

That ice cream looks beautiful!

I don`t like wafer/waffle cone/cases but the ice cream.....yum! Hope you enjoyed that treat. Ice cream stores that make their own products are priceless.

now I am craving one of those!

::yes::

Our Taco Bell has the new items out but gonna take a pass on a run to the border tonight and have a roasted chicken for dinner.
Have not ran this by Mr Mac yet

He might veto my vote..lol

He is more structured than I am
He likes routine for every thing in his daily life.

It’s going to be 68 here today
Tomorrow could be 70
With the mountains around us, weather for where we reside changes from cool to warm

We don’t start the ac until it’s in the 70’s
Always have our windows closed to avoid traffic noise and dust.
and avoid when the winds are in our direction.

Cow pasture is across the street from us and when the wind changes direction, we get the lovely cow smells on occasion only when we are outside

The cows are moved from one field to another during the months
They have a rotation schedule for which field they will be in.

Once the ac is turned on, it stays on until maybe all October.

Having our yard fertilizer treatment done today
Grass has greened up already days ago

We hire the work out as they can do it much quicker than us and get a jump on any weeds that pop up

The coyotes were out last night howling.
This is not something we experienced when we live up north

We don't hear them all the time
The cats go nuts when they hear them

So at times I sleep through cow sounds but do hear my cats growling

Your weather is fabulous for the time of year, and your view is lovely ftom your home.

I wonder if coyotes sound like foxes. This last 6 weeks the noise from them during the night has been dreadful coming from the woods around us. Our gardener informed me yesterday (we had no clue) January is their mating season. That explains the rabble every night!!!

We did manage a walk this morning, cooler than we expected, so we were glad of gloves and hats. It was nice though we did our walk in a faster time than Sunday.

Then spent the afternoon at our village community hall, they were doing an afternoon tea to raise funds for that dreadful Turkey/Syria earthquake. Everyone is trying to do something to help as well as just making donations to the fund. Absolutely dreadful to see the scenes, seeing a newborn baby pulled out alive brings such hope in pure devastation, but sadly the mother didn`t survive.

The hall was busy considering the short notice and hope a lot was raised from that one event. I`m sure there will be more events like that over the next weeks, I know they`re doing something on Saturday and we`ll donate throught the usual organisations that help in these disasters.

Pork fillet with honey, mustard, soy, ginger, garlic and onion seasonings for dinner tonight with some mini garlic and rosemary potatoes and roasted carrots.

I think we`ll be watching some tv later, final episodes of House of Cards.

. I wish we had such an ice cream place like you have near me. Guess I need to do a raid trip. LoL
Our town is overrun with ice cream shops. The one by my office is the best one though. Come on down and I’ll buy you some ice cream.

Hope you enjoyed that treat. Ice cream stores that make their own products are priceless.
I haven’t tried the taco yet. (Coincidentally the ice cream shop is next to a Mexican restaurant.) I am trying to cut back on sugar. My blood sugar levels are starting to get high.

I am trying to get some schoolwork done, but between the fans and the noise from next door it is really difficult to concentrate. I think I’ll go get lunch now.

I need to google that show, House of Cards

I am drawing a blank on it

It features Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, set in the White House and all about the political backdrop of plotting, crime and murder at the very top. Excellent series I missed first time round. It was cancelled after 6 series, Kevin Spacey was fired after the 5th season after all the allegations were made against him. I`m sure he is guilty, so they had to, but it wasn`t the same without him. I think you`d enjoy it.

Oh I thought that was your picture......

Yes, you do the right thing being careful.

Off to start prepping my veg for tonight, not much to do with roasting carrots and potatoes in garlic and rosemary. The pork looks delicious, will cook quickly and hopefully moist and tasty!!

Crikey!!

For the phones to go down too.......that is unlucky.

I remember my hair salon was flooded, old building and the pipes froze over the weekend, it took forever to get it dried out with huge dehumidifiers she hired.

That kind of boring you can do without.

Going to be another sunny but chilly day today, we should get out a walk and will be well wrapped up for walking. Apparently the frosty even colder weather is coming back in a few days......still won`t be as cold as disneyseniors weather......holy moly!!!

Made some breakfast muffins last night, so that`s breakfast this morning with some fruit and tea. Lunch is turkey slices with salad for lunch and dinner will be pork fillet roasted quickly in honey, garlic and mustard.

Managed to catch up with most of the emails I need to yesterday, but again woke up this morning with more than usual and one from friends in Australia and one from one of our friends in Florida. Always good to catch up with them.

Time for tea.......

Happy Tuesday :-)
Well, Carole, we are on tropical winter weather now so try not to be envious, LOL. It's in the 20's and 30's this week. Yea! Time to get the shorts out:ssst:, maybe not! It is so nice to see blue sky instead of gray and white, white and gray, and alot of gray (did I mention that).
It's always exciting when you can get out into the yard/garden and plan for Spring planting. It will be a while for us, but we still get excited for our 2 weeks of summer! (I hope you know that I tease about a lot of stuff and am not serious most of the time!) We actually have 3 weeks of summer!

Got my longish hair cut off today! It was getting too long to take care of and I like it shorter. Roger likes it better. He loves my hair short! Most men like long hair, but he's got to be different.

My back is now back to normal! I don't know how something so small and insignificant can cause such pain. I really don't remember doing anything specific to cause it. Oh well............back to cooking again:)
Tonight we are having pizza. Spent all day in town doing errands, so no cooking tonight. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it:)

take care,

ruth

lol....I love your "tropical winters". Yes, we get a lot of grey too, but keisha was surprised how many clear skies we get at night compared to PA. Our skies at night can be crystal clear and filled with stars, it`s how Kyle manages to get some wonderful pictures, I send them all to Janet.

And I sympathise.....our summers vary every year.....some years like the last few have been gorgeous, sometimes we get 4 days in June and we`re grateful for that.....lol Good weather has to be enjoyed while we can. And yes, I do like people with a sense of humour......we need more folks like that!!! :)

You must enjoy your garden a lot. We are rubbish gardeners, so rely a lot on our gardener who is also named Kyle, but he is 6 foot 4 and an ex rugby player so very different from our Kyle who also knows nothing about gardening!!

I`m so glad your back has improved! It`s such a debilitating injury to get, you can`t avoid using it. You can dust again now.......lol....sorry!! And I think your hair will suit you, shorter hair can be lovely. Tom doesn`t like mine too long, neither do I to be honest now. Just below the shoulder works for me too.

Hope that pizza is nice!!!

Hooray for no more back pain Ruth!

Let’s hope it isn’t recurring

Take it easy today!

Amen........

Oh my goodness, we loved that pork dish tonight, even if I say so myself, it was cooked perfectly and delicious. We didn`t bother with potatoes, just the roasted veg, that was enough and I had made lemon possett for dessert as we had a dozen lemons for some reason.

House of Cards time and a tonic water with lime and yep, extra lemon slices!

It's that taco Tuesday feeling!!!

I tried to post yesterday, but had lots on the go here at work.

My weekend on for Seniors care went fast! I found little things to keep me busy both days. I'm not nearly as fast (or good) at being able to move clients/HCA's around as they are...so it takes me some time to get schedules reworked before we send them out for the week. That is the basic duty for the weekend shift. But I did it!!! First weekend working by myself.

Regular work is busy. I think I have things caught up for now. But that can change fast.

We have had glorious weather the last few days again! A light coat is all the is needed!!!! So I am soaking it all up. Next week, the temps are going to drop a bit. Nothing super cold....but definitely not the weather we are experiencing. I am crossing my fingers it stays in the bearable temps, and not the horrible cold we had in December.

I think it's a stir-fry night tonight. There is some brocolli that needs to be used up...and I am sure I can find a few more veggies that are needing to be used too....so stir-fry it is.

Realize it’s all part of the great circle of life but, doesn’t mean you necessarily go easily with the flow when it does touch you. DH & I need, not want the days away next week to clear our heads.
Enjoy the get away! Especially after wading through all you have had to in the past couple of weeks.
Son, Daughter in Law and Grandson to see how they are doing and check on little J who is sick too.
I hope they are recovering quickly.
Today has been a crazy day.
Yikes!!!! Hopefully your spaces dry out quickly. That is NOT fun!!!!

Yeah, my car has heated seats. Yep, even though only need that heat seat used part of the year, when the car feels cold from sitting, it’s nice to have your tush and lower back warm feeling in a few minutes after getting going. And so, I always want that heated seat option in the cars I buy.
That is what I want in my next vehicle!!!! My current Izzy doesn't have them...and I would LOVE them in my next one! For now, I'll have to settle with my Izzy. I/We could upgrade her, but I really like not having another payment. We will see, I have been watching though ;)

Ummmm YUM!!!!!!! I am not a big dessert person, and will pass on it most of the time....but that I would definitely give a try.

I miss hearing them. We would always hear them when we were out at the family lake lot.
Pork fillet with honey, mustard, soy, ginger, garlic and onion seasonings for dinner tonight with some mini garlic and rosemary potatoes and roasted carrots.
Yum!!!! You continue to inspire me with your meals.

Yay to your back being better. It is not very often my back bothers me, but when it does, I am a big baby lol.

Well, there is a couple more papers to shuffle.

Have a great day everyone!

Well… I told Mr Mac I had a chicken to put in the oven …
He practically had a stroke …

He reminded me this was Tuesday and we head for the boarder at 6:30

Really it was fine with me to do Taco Bell
They have a new dessert I want to try.

Purdue hen will be for Wednesday.
You all should come to my house tomorrow for dinner as it’s a big bird I bought on Monday.

I am not a fancy cook, but I can do up a fine chicken dinner.

Checking in:flower1:burnt candle on both ends today. In my defense hours spent at GS in MK as our magic bands ceased to link with account.

Lots of that sort of glitching all day in park according to CMs I spoke to, thinking many sectors getting hit by Russian hackers that’s not being publicized. Yes, I am wearing tin foil lined Mickey ears lol

Going to laze around hotel pool then, dinner at The Boathouse and onto Epcot for the late night event

Love is in the air:p need to pick up one more popcorn bucket for my figment loving family.

Yay, a live Keisha post. Glad you made it there, as getting away was the right thing to do. Sweet anniversary gift. Ack, to issues there. Hope better tomorrow.

It’s way past my bedtime. Pumpkin carriage for me. Good night all. No light, as I’m too tired to turn it on. My nightlight is automatic when it’s dark. Sweet dreams all.

Glad you did well on your own.

I think our weather kind of mirrors each others, we are getting colder next few days, but nothing dramatic.

No, desserts aren`t my choice, but a good ice cream is hard to resist.

A good roast chicken dinner made from scratch is hard to beat mac.

How was the dessert??

Oh that`s interesting with the Russian theory.......yep, tinfoil hat indeed!! Glad you finally got the MB issue sorted but what a shame you had to waste time getting it fixed.

Glad you`re both having a lovely time there......love is in the air indeed!! Hope Boathouse was as good as it usually is for you, I know you do like it there.

Is it bad I have no clue who or what Figment is

Well, not till officially 14th. I do tend to stretch out celebrations :rolleyes1

It`s the only way to celebrate Janet........an anniversary is always something to cheer about!!!

Middle of the week again......and it is going to be a lot cooler today but the sun will be as bright as it can be out there. If the sun is shining, all is well, so planning a walk again, will try and walk longer than 2 miles, we were used to doing anything from 6 - 10 miles in a day, so it feels as though we`ve got a lot of building up to do. We did go a lot faster yesterday and will concentrate on distance now by extending a little every day, it`s so cold.

Then we have to go shopping, need some fresh produce, we do go through a lot of fresh veg so I`m glad we have plenty of farm stores around. Although the grocery store is handy for when they`re closed at a push.

Spicy pulled pork with sweet potato wedges for dinner tonight unless we see some fresh fish when we`re out down the seafront. Plenty of fish places to choose from there.

I`ve ordered a couple of books to come, hopefully they`ll arrive today, one is the actor David Niven`s autobiography, it`s years old as he has been dead for a long time, but a friend suggested it as she said she laughed out loud so often reading it. I think I`ll enjoy it.

Pot of tea time again.......

Aww, camel is in that Valentine’s spirit. Yep, get over this hump feeling day, and not only Friday will be here in 2 days, but next week is that sweetest of days where you love enjoying a taco. 😊

And so, tea for me this morning. Yep, a routine week day routine one for me. At least commuting only the last week day routine tomorrow.

And weather, well enjoying that just above freezing early morning. And a full day of sun, with. 52 the high. Shorts and sunglasses for lunchtime walk. Woot! Yep, around here, any temps in the 50’s or higher, many will be in shorts. And no need to put those shorts away. Seeing 60’s in our 7 day forecast. We are in February, right? Though the little bit of snow, .03 inches, we got when we were away, has been the only snow we have seen for 325 days before that snow last week. I’m not complaining. No more snow this winter? Okay with me.

Most Wonderful Wednesday all.

Is it bad I have no clue who or what Figment is

Maybe? JK He was the highlight of Epcot for me in the early days of the park. Not quite sure what that says about my mind :upsidedow

they ‘dreamed’ him up in early 80’s. Figment is the literal embodiment of the phrase "figment of the imagination". A little trippy, Seth Rogan is probably the perfect person to produce the new movie in development.

Speaking of movies, After sharing my theory yesterday alluding nefarious things afoot as retaliation due to our country’s aid to Ukraine’s efforts to defend themselves; thot of this old movie. Anyone remember it? Dated and bit of a farce. Note to self to view again

Charade I hope servicepro remediates the issue. Last thing u need to do is sit in office with breathing potential mold. :wizard:
