:guilty: PLEASE, I think my husband is going to strangle me! So I just spent one full year in nursing school, I told him he had to plan this trip. He did great! Now I am reviewing his dining and Im afraid his attempts to make this adult only trip will be ruined because I keep changing his plans. EX. I read the brown derby menu and got scared so we changed it to 50s prime time. I dont want to ruin his trip but I dont want to order from the kids menu at such nice restaurants! HELP!

Why did you let him plan it if you're just going to come behind him and change everything? :confused3 That's a serious pet peeve of mine.

There is no reason to be afraid to go to any restaurant. I used to be this way but then decided, hey these people are working for me and my money, why should I be intimidated by them. Most nice restaurants have good standard food (steak, chicken, fish, etc.) and will work with you to make sure you get something you like. Also do not let snooty waiters intimidate you. If they are good at their job they will try to make you feel comfortable, since their tip depends on it. And if they are snooty or ignore you it can be reflected in their tip. I say go for it, I bet you will have fun if you remember its just dinner!

Sorry if I hit a nerve with you :thumbsup2 , LOL. Its not that I tried to change things he asks about the ADR's and as I was looking at menus I saw he was trying really hard to make nice romantic reservations, and the food choices there were really outlandish for me, things like
Pan-Fired Grouper over balsamic roasted asparagus, lemon butter sauce, topped with Bermuda onion marmalade $23.99

What is bermuda onion marmalade??? Sounds gross to me

I know Im picky and a meal can ruin a night if it goes completely wrong. So I kindly asked him where else he would want to eat, and we have reviewed those and we are looking them over.
I understand its a pet peeve, but, well you just have to know my husband, he has good intentions with poor follow thru or thought. BUT I love him with all that I am, which is why I am trying to help him fix things.

BTW I graduated and I am stress free, and able to help plan.

Thanks for listening!

A few words of encouragement...
I worked in a "Fancy" restaurant and we used "fancy" terminology.. So really bermuda onion marmalade. is just a cold sweet onion puree.

For example in my restaurant we call pigs in a blanket..

Cocktail Franks Wrapped in Crisp Puff Pasty..

So don't let that fancy terminonlogy scare you off, it is probably just something you have had but worded in a "fancy" way!!

I am the queen of letting other people plan and then switching plans around. My family has learned and they just insist I plan in the beginning. BUt in the end, they are always happy because I plan a great vacation!!! Maybe comprise, let him keep a few of his restaurants and then you switch a few around.

Really, short of Victoria & Albert's, nothing at WDW is overly fancy. Certainly not any of the park restaurants; they are nothing to be afraid of.

Rather than squashing your husband's creativity (ie-forgoing a great meal at the Brown Derby for a truly mediocre one at Prime Time), why not give it a try? What can it possibly hurt? If you expand your horizons a little, you might find something new that you really like.

And, if you really just can't muster up the courage to try something that's not plain jane, you'll have no trouble finding a standard issue meat & potatoes type offering at any restaurant. Seriously, there's no need to let your kiddie menu palate deny your husband an opportunity to try a restaurant he's looking forward to. Trust me, you'll have no trouble finding something for you.

You only live once! Give it a chance!

Theres always chicken, thats what I always think. Or a steak. Plus, from what it seems they are very flexible at all the restaurants, and if you see something that sounds good except for an accompanyment or sauce, if you ask for it on the side, or a substitution, Im sure they will accomodate you. If its only a few places you're not sure on, and you did ask your hubby to plan, try to go with the flow!

ok I think I am relaxed there is alot about this trip that is nerve racking! LOL Maybe I will surprise him and rebook brown derby, its only food, if all fails, maybe they have chicken fingers on the childrens menu ! LOL

Thats the spirit, branch out girl ;) There is a whole yummy world out there and it doesnt include chicken fingers!

PS the pan fried grouper sounds good and unless you hate seafood you prob. would like it, plus you could always ask for the onion marmalade on the side.
