When Fred and I were at Friday contemporary meet this past week, I made a trade that I could kick myself for now. I do not know the fella I traded with, so I don't know if he took advantage or not. Sure do wish I could do it over. He was originally looking for the surprise M/M Balloon pin. I had none. Sure would like one for patriotic set. Anyway, he saw I had the DLP Halloween Pumpkin head pin. He asked me about it, I said it was for trade. He asked about edition size. I honestly could not remember, as it is not asked about much. Anyway, he said he believed it was an LE 2000. He offered me the Malificent DLP LE 1000 for it. I figured it was fair as he said he thought it was.

Welllll.... I just looked at both on pinpics. Malificent LE 1000 has a trade ration of 71/195. My "Pumpkin" (LE 1000!!)had a trade ratio of 22/229!!! ARRGGHHHHH!!! I'm not sure as I said before, but I think "maybe" he knew what he was getting. I should have listened to my gutt and not done the trade. Oh well, I hope he enjoys his pin. I had been trading very generously the prior week while at WDW for our anniversary. I guess I was Continuing the Tradition a little too well!!

To be honest it sounds like a fair trade to me... I don't get to many meets up here but I am sure a Villian pin le 1000 is going to be a better trader for you than a pumpkin. As for the pin pics trade to want #'s... I never believe those anyway. I have am one pin pics person who has not updated his pins in about a year. So I am sure I am messing up a few numbers.

Think of it this way. You got rid if a pin you knew little about that never got asked for for a pin you liked better...

And best of all you got to make the trade in WDW

I agree with Nat. Without even looking at the pinpics ratios, I think you will get far more requests for that pin should you decide to keep it in your trader book, than you would for the other. Don't worry...I think you did just fine!!

Not to fuel the fire but the pumpkin pin definitely gets more on eBay than Maleficent ($20.00+ range). She really hasn't done as well as the Mickey head pumpkin ($40.00+ range). Its much more rare too even though they are both 1000. Just like the DCL pumpkin head halloween pin, they are both difficult to find.

Winnie...I think you did fine......they are both LE 1000 right? So regardless of the trading vs wanting.......there are only 1000 of each pin available anywhere.

I agree that you can't always go for sure on the ratios either. Mine are grossly out of date, and esp with summer I am quite sure I am not the only one.
