Someone Please Explain DeVine

What is she? Is she from a movie? Does she just appear in random AK places or are there places you should look for her? Thanks.

I think she is just to go along with the "nature" feel of AK, not specifically from a movie. She gracefully walks and moves, and blends, and interacts with the crown non-verbally. We have found her in 2 places - on the path between Africa and Asia in 2013, and in 2015, she was on the path to the right after you enter the park, right near the Oasis area. I am not sure if she is found other places as well. Very graceful and well-worth the time to stop when you see her. She is mesmerizing!

Devine is a " living" part of animal kingdom. We have seen her and she is very cool. She doesn't have a set spot...she blends with the foliage. You just need to keep your eyes on the foliage and hopefully you will see her. She is not connected with a movie...just a neat Disney " extra" !

We saw her yesterday at the Oasis blending in with the trees. My DH and DD loved her! My daughter kept asking if we could see her again but I figured she has random spots.

She currently appears in The Oasis on the right just past Wheelchair/ECV Rental in the "walkway" that leads to a backstage gate.

Current showtimes are 8:30, 9:20, 10:10, 11:00 & 11:50am, 12:40pm.

I'd find her while you can - with all of these character cuts I wouldn't be surprised if they trimmed devine.

I don't think they would just trim her a she could come back then. With all the cuts I am guessing they would go the roundup route with her so she would be done permanently.

DeVine is actually NOT a Disney employee. They hire the devine people from a company in Florida that specializes in "living gardens".
For the past 20 years we make it a habit to see her. Now she is next to the stroller rental as you walk into AK

If she's on a contract with a third-party vendor, I have no doubt that she'll be gone by the end of 2016 - they're cutting everything they can that a first time visitor doesn't know is there. I honestly believe that they know they can get away with cutting extras like this because they have now become primarily focused on the first time guest. This guest has no baseline to know about things like DeVine, the Main Street Performers, the Citizens of Hollywood, etc. Repeat visitors notice these cuts - first time/only time visitors don't and never will. The strategy is perfect, and they'll continue to apply it until they take a financial hit.

The first time I ever saw her it actually wasn't at Disney world it was at Gaylord Opry Land hotel. I figured she was a contract with a sub company as Disney would likely be upset if someone else was using a Disney creation (intellectual property).

Saddly I agree with jpeden, I too think she will be gone.
