I have WL booked for Sept for 6 night with Free Dining and 7 day no park hopper tickets for $2500
Is the 40% off a better deal for WL?
Will reservations help if there is a better offer if we ask them to price it out for us?

You'd have to tell us more about your travel party and room type to know for certain. Based on your siggie alone, FD saves a party of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids age 3-9) $108 a night.

The standard double room for the date range I looked at in Sept was $240 a night rack rate, or $144 after 40% off. That's only a savings of $96 a night, so in that case FD is the better deal. So it really depends on your room type, as to which is the better deal.

Hope that helps a little... and happy planning!

yes kids are 4 and 7 yrs old, standard WL room
although thinking of upgrading to Deluxe and trying to figure out how that enters into the mix

If it is this close on a standard room then any upgrade to the room will make the 40% off a better deal.
You can also factor in some ticket savings if you buy them from a discount site.

And the free dining is really a false savings. It is only worth its full value as a discount if you would have eaten 7 TS meals w/o it. I know we don't. So really it is only a discount in terms of getting more for the same price, instead of getting the same thing for a lower price.

Think of it like this:
I need sunscreen. It is $9.99. I can either buy one get one free. So I'll have 2 for $9.99. Or I can buy one somewhere else at 40% off, so I'll pay $5.99 for 1. Which is the better deal? If the second sunscreen is more than I need, and will either cause me to waste it by throwing it away at the end of summer or use it twice as fast as normal- is that a savings? For us Free dining is like that, we do not average $100+ a day on food. Or rather on the food the plan would cover. We like appetizers and wine, sometimes in place of a meal. Neither is covered. On the other hand we tend to share deserts or skip them.

Oh and if you are torn because the DDP sounds fun, which it is. You could always split the resie- 3 or 4 nights Free Dining and the rest room only. We do split resies often and while it is always possible you would have to change rooms, I never have.
