Somehow logged in during site maintenance, all my points gone

I take it back they are still doing it.

Seems that when I couldn't log in, I then used a VPN and was able to. My VPN was showing a city in the U.S.Then I noticed the clicktale.net reference for recordings.

After disconnecting the vpn and logging in without the vpn the reference was gone.

But if I reenable my VPN it comes back - seems only to be in the U.S that the user sessions are being recorded and analyzed.

...or, only not in the EU (where consumer protections are actually a thing.)

For those in the US: it looks like Privacy Badger entirely blocks clicktale by default. It also blocks cookies from queue-it, so think about disabling before e.g. trying to sign up for runDisney or MM. The queue is also rarely used for regular booking, but I've only seen it once or twice.

And if you think the DVC site is riddled with surveillance-ware, wait until you see the Privacy Badger report for DISboards.

Yeah I’m in Europe.

Still trying to understand WHY DVC would have software like this? I understand why a commercial website selling stuff would have it. Even though DVC are commercial it’s not like we can log in and buy xyz items.

DISboard having it I assume is because of all the commercials here we can’t buy stuff either except for the rental plans.

I hope it's the reason you said *could* be a factor. Catching the bots

These type of web analytics can also be used to see where performance can be improved and with UI design to make sites more user friendly, its not just about what you bought on the website.

I did a quick network analysis of the DVC website and just when the site came back up they did some massive calls to a website called clicktale.net. It seems to be a tool or company who specializes in user behavior, they even offer session replays. I assume that means that whatever we do or click on DVC can later on replay it.

Guess that could be a way to catch those (if any) who uses a bot to book.

however in the last 20min or so the calls have disappeared.

I therefore assume that the maintenance was due to the implementation of this - maybe it will only be active during the early morning hours like 7-9am.
I googled clicktale.net & discovered that one of their competitors is called mouseflow - seems like a missed opportunity 😆.

Problem is as Long as the Company using the software is not open about it, everybody is gonna speculate and think the worst.

Yeah - if the can play back any users actions they must be able to see how or if a bot is in play.

Oh yeah that would have been great for them to put on the resume.

Oh boy, seems like a great time to try and make my first ever booking on points tomorrow...

At least if I log in tomorrow morning and things are *weird* I won't freak out! Thanks, DISBoards! :D

It shows up when you need to select which contracts to use for a reservation
Thanks question though you said now there’s no doubt about one time use points versus transferred in.

There’s no doubt in my mind since I’ve never done a transfer in or out however, the buy one get one used points show one contract is transferred in and the other as one time use points.

If one were actually to transfer points in, I would think this would actually be confusing although I guess you would know the resort or contract number.

My other thought is since it’s indicates it is a transfer, does that mean I no longer can transfer points if I took advantage of the buy one get one free OTUP since they’re treating some as a transfer?

That’s odd, at least for the membership I screenshotted from its showing correct. I haven’t checked for the other memberships.

I don’t know how MS sees it on their side but I was hoping this was aligned with their side to avoid confusion. Since yours are different from what’s actually happened as OTUP shows as transferred then I don’t know anymore.

That said OTUP are technically a transfer from one member to another - DVC being one of those members. If they can’t show it right what’s the purpose of showing it at all - it will just create more confusion than clarity.

Per usual the question is if Disney tests before implementing.

My UY that is still in 2024 is not showing 2025. Perhaps because I currently have all points in the 2025 UY tied up in reservations but don't know for certain. My UY that is already in 2025 knows that is a year.

The booking page is taking 3-4 times longer than normal to load.

Under booking it's showing VGC as a home resort for both my UY's although I only have points there in one of them. Way back when purchasing that resort contracts were drawn up and loaded in the UY it's showing under but then cancelled. It's also showing a home resort that I had sold from it. These had not shown as home resorts since the respective cancelling and sale of the contracts.

My 2024 UY is missing on my dashboard and browsing inventory is painfully slow
