Someday: the Sequel! A Dec 2013 PTR

Crossing my fingers that a great deal on a rental comes through!!

Also waiting anxiously to hear about the reveal!!!!! popcorn::

REVEAL day was yesterday and it was a hit!! I am going to try to make it back later today to post. Morning has been a little crazy and I am trying to figure out the video thing. I want to post it but I also don't want to upload it to someplace like Youtube where the world can access it. I know, I am crazy but I like this a little more private. So I will keep trying to figure it out... Not to mention it is 1.6 G! LOL

I think on youtube, you can make it private for videos.

I did see that... There will have to be some MAJOR editing done. It's only allowed to be 500 mb and our video is 1 G! LOL So I guess for now I should just post the story and some of the pictures we took. :rotfl:

So, he we are... the day after the BIG REVEAL... and I am sure there isn't anything you all want to hear about. :rotfl: There is no story that might be of interest! :lmao: So I guess I will just say hello... and go! :rotfl2:

Ok, seriously this is going to be a super long post so stick with me. I will tell you that things went well...:thumbsup2 That way if you are one of those people that like to read the last page of a book first, you just did! Most of the rest of you saw my many posts on Facebook yesterday.

So the day starts out COLD! I really need to get that out of the way as almost everyday lately has started out COLD! Jon gets home from work right around 6:00 and heads to bed. The alarm goes off around 8:00 for me to get up and get the kids up. The kids and I head to church. I have to tell you about our church experience yesterday. Once a month, we have what is called family Sunday. The Youth pastor usually preaches and all the kids (grades 1-5) are upstairs for worship with us. I really have to tell you that Family Sunday is not my favorite Sunday, only because Brenda gets bored and it ALWAYS goes over. Gavin is still downstairs in children's church because he is only in Kindergarten. I also should mention that if we skip a Sunday to sleep in, or whatever, it is usually THIS Sunday. So things get going, Brenda is doing a pretty good job at sitting and listening. Then the "subject" of the sermon comes in. Basically, the sermon yesterday was pretty much giving all of our troubles to God and he takes care of them. So, I listened... :listen: And I guess somewhere in there I listened so well, that I just figured I refuse to worry any more about the car and our trip to FL. In the end it was a good church day. Brenda sat, or cuddled up to me, the whole time and never pulled her normal "i'm bored" kinda things. So Score!!! (Although, it did run almost 20 minutes over)

So, we head home. I then sit the kids down and give them the schedule for the day. Told all about things that were going to happen that day. Told them we needed to sit down before dinner and have a serious discussion with them. So we clean some and then get ready for Trick or Treat at our local Minor League baseball stadium. (A little funny here, the State College Spikes are a farm team for the St. Louis Cardinals... not the "closer to us" Phillies or Pittsburgh Pirates. :rotfl: Seems odd to me!) BTW, Brenda's Zebra costume came in time for yesterday.

So off we go to Trick or Treat and as soon as we are done we head to get the pizza. I walk in about 5 minutes early and the pizza hasn't been made... hasn't even been put together. The owner, who had scheduled himself to make the Mickey Pizza was home with the stomach flu!! :scared1: So, a very nice young guy told me that they were waiting for a return call from him to tell them over the phone, what they were to do. A few minutes later the owner calls back and gives them the instructions. He asks to talk to me and explains how very sorry he was to not be able to make it in but his whole family was struck with the stomach stuff going around. It is hear I start to worry. We chat for a few minutes and tells me to be sure to get the Pizza hat for Gavin. :rotfl: He through in a silly pizza hat for Gavin (that he is sharing nicely with Brenda) since Gavin is such a pizza fan! The young guy goes about making the pizza... everyone keeps milling about... trying to see how he was doing. So it comes time for the pepperoni, the guy asks, can I make it into a face for you or do you want them all over. I tell him a face would be great. He goes back to work and hands the pizza over the woman that runs the oven, where she flips out on this poor kid! I am standing at the front counter and I hear her tell him.. "They want pepperoni everywhere. Go back and do this right. Johnnie (the owner) says we have to get this one right!" The young guy then goes on to tell her that he spoke with me at which time she sticks her head around the supply counter. I smile and shake my head yes and she puts into the oven. So, I am guessing Johnnie put the law down on this pizza since he wasn't there to do it himself! :rotfl: The Pizza comes out and looks cute... Like this...

I am given my pizza, Gavin's hat, and a bunch of yummy desserts and I am off!! I let Jon take a peek at the pizza, where the kids can't see. I have to tell you that I had to have left the one side slide a little because his eye and side of his mouth had slid before we got home. Still looked great.

(((GOING TO POST THIS AND THEN CONTINUE)))

So as soon as we get home I send the kids upstairs to get out of their costumes and into play clothes. Sometimes for special movie night or special occasions we will put a table up in the living room and nibble dinner. WE ONLY DO THIS ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS!! We don't like to eat in front of the TV but we know the kids think this is special. So, Jon puts the table up in the living room and I run up and get the presents. When the kids come down, we tell them to have a seat on the couch. Brenda asks several times if she is in trouble. :rotfl2: This is the before shot...

We then begin the news.

First, we tell the kids that we know Brenda had been working really hard on her bracelets and trying to make lots of money for Black Friday shopping. I said but we had another idea you guys might like a little more. Jon explains that the new plan would be farther from home, involve a hotel stay and a LONG LONG car ride. I tell them that I have a few small presents to help them guess where we might go... or things to do in the car on the way.. :drive: Each package is wrapped. First, I hand them a mystery LEGO minifigure. Each is excited, but wondering what I was doing. Gavin reminds me that we are NOT allowed to take those in the car. I said Ok and give them the second package. This one has a pen and notepad. Gavin's is Toy Story them and Brenda's is Princess themed. They both think this is to do writing in the car. :rotfl2: So then I hand them the third package. Gavin gets a set of Pop pencils that are Toy Story themed and Brenda gets a Halloween Princess coloring set. It is at this point that Brenda asks, VERY UNSURE OF HER QUESTION, "Are we going to Disney World?" I then say "I don't know... better open this last big box and find out where we are going" The last box is a large shoebox. Inside I had each of their Disney World sweatshirts, ALL 75 USED gift cards, a Disney World Kid's travel book and a Mickey Head Cecostomy pad for Gavin. As soon as they opened the box they started to scream. It was amazing!!!!! Brenda screamed for at least 5 minutes... NO EXAGGERATING! We were to the point where we were afraid she would lose her voice. All she kept screaming is "Where going to Disney World!!!!!!!" Here is the first picture I could get that was almost clear! (Gavin is in his silly pizza hat)

We then put the pizza in front of them and asked, "Who are we going to see?" And they start to scream "Mickey!!!!" There was a lot of screaming for a little while, which was ok since the neighbor was at work! :rotfl: Once we could get them to calm down a little, we had them hold up their sweatshirts. So cute!!!

And finally, we sat down and enjoy our pizza and desserts!

We didn't get to spend a super long time enjoying each other's company as it was soon time to get Gavin's meds and flush going and bathed for Bed. We did not turn on the TV... which I had thought we would watch one of those WDW Netflix movies. When the kids weren't otherwise occupied they were GLUED to the travel book. They took turns.

I guess the emotions really hit me about the time Brenda was getting her shower. Brenda has always been a singing in the shower girl, even before she could talk to she would make noises in the tub. It's how I know she is happy. Well, for the last few months, there has been so singing in the shower. I just figured she outgrew it and had moved on. Well, Last night she was singing in the shower. It was such a sweet sound... to hear her so happy. I couldn't stop, the tears just started to roll down my checks. It was then that I knew that everything that had lead us to that point had been a step to overcome to make this moment so priceless.

It was a very special day in our house... One we will cherish... at least till Nov 30 get here!!

Did I mention WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD??????? :cool1:  :hyper: :cool1:  :cool1:  :hyper:

Okay, now I'm sitting here with tears rolling down my cheeks.

It all worked out perfectly for you (well, except Mr. Pizza Man getting the stomach flu).

The pictures of the kids are absolutely priceless and well worth making us wait for. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gavin's pizza hat.

I could not be happier for you and your family.

You are going to Disney to see the Christmas stuff.:santa::santa::santa::santa:

So glad the reveal went well!!! I can only imagine how touching that would be to see the kids so blissfully happy!!!! I know how Brenda feels, when you think you know the answer but you want it to be right so bad you are afraid to guess lol! That's so cute that she was so hesitant with her guess!! Has she started thinking of things she wants to buy yet? I'm so happy for your family!!! And I will keep my fingers crossed on the van thing, but you are right, sometimes you just have to hope for the best!!

Great reveal!!!
Sorry about the rental car issue but I total understand the $$ issue. But may I suggest as a worrying grandma type that you get a AAA membership, just in case you have a problem. And get the oil changed and have Your mechanic check it all out. I will also be praying for you so you should be okay.

YAY!! Miss Tracy and Mr. Bill are so happy you are going to WDW. I love the pictures!

My dad has me in tears so I thought I would stop over here and try to lose this bad attitude in the DIS. He has done everything short of the words but pretty much called us an stupid for taking our car to Disney. Like I have so many other choices. I have been in tears since hanging up with him so I am hoping hearing from all of you will cheer me up. Sorry if I don't seem my jovial self in these replies.

So sorry to make you cry, Kathy. I know I had happy tears rolling last night too. Gavin is still loving his pizza hat. It is a super cute hat, and very silly.

I love it!!! So glad that the reveal went so well.
It really did go great.

What a great reveal!! They look so happy!! Hurray for Disney World!!
They were out of this world happy last night.. although, Brenda ended up on "yellow" today because she couldn't stop talking about Disney. Opps.

I honestly think she was afraid to jump on the thought that we might get back to Disney. I think in her heart she was afraid to hope she was right. The only thing that she has talked about buy this trip is, she is paying for her own BBB and she would like to get some new earrings.

Your money and gifts arrived today. Thank you very much! Brenda had me put the pumpkin earrings in right away and Gavin dug into the coloring set as soon as he was done with homework... haven't heard a word from him since.

just awwww

super-- I lover suprises
This has been a hard one to keep.

Great reveal!!!

Our insurance includes a pretty good roadside assistance program... So we should be set there. The car was just inspected earlier this month. Took about $500 in small repairs, nothing major. We will get our oil change before we leave and run a gas treatment/ fuel injector cleaner through before we go. Thank you. We appreciate all the prayers. I am really starting to wonder if this trip was a good idea. :(

The kids are still trying to figure out ways to get Miss Tracy and Mr Bill to Disney to see them! It'll be great when we spill the last surprise.

Ask him if he wants to pay for rental or let you use his car. I don't like that he put a damper on your excitement.

I love that the kids want to see us again.

Do NOT let your Dad do this to you. You can't change him, you can only change your reaction to him.

Watch the reveal video again and be happy.

Wooohoooo!

don't worry about your dad. I have seen him post on facebook too. He just seems like a downer at times and you can tell he totally doesn't get the Disney thing. You are an adult and if you want his opinion about the care, tell him you'll ask or if he is worried offer to pay or shut up.

See! Brenda is already acting responsibly with the money!! Paying for her own BBB is a very grown up decision! Glad she liked the earrings, I have a set and the pumpkin ones are my favorite too ;) My son Jack LOVES those coloring packs, and they are nice to have when I take him places he doesn't want to go lol

DO NOT let your dad rain on your parade. We all know some people just don't "get it" when it comes to Disney, and jealousy is a powerful thing. I'm sure he just wishes he could have been as wonderful of a parent to you as you are to your kids! It sounds like you are taking good care of your car, and being cautious. I will keep my fingers crossed for your safe journey! Maybe you will get stuck at Disney and just decide to stay!! :rotfl2: I'm kidding, I'm sure you won't get stuck. If I see any good deals on cars, I will let you know! Do you have a Sams Club or Costco membership? Sometimes they have good coupons....

Have the kids talked about anything besides the trip since Sunday night? Trust me, this trip is not a bad idea!

DITTO to what ALL of these smart gals said about your Dad.

The trip is NOT a bad idea, it is the BEST idea after the summer you have had.
