OK, we leave in 6 days and I have a million and one things to do before we leave. But instead, I sit here DISing.

This is what the next few days look like for me

Fri -- spend the day with MIL, hair and nail appts and last minute shopping
Sat -- try to clean the house, make cake and favors for DS' 1st Birthday party
Sun -- DS' First Birthday party
Mon -- finish cleaning and getting the house ready for our new foster child (coming straight from the hospital the day after we get back from WDW)
Tue -- kids have visit with bio parents, make sure the house is in order, cats are taken care of, pick kids up from visit (which is about an hour away), DD to doctors right after visit and then home to pack up the SUV with all of our luggage that i haven't gotten out or packed and then off to the in-laws house

So can somebody either...

A. Come and help me pack and run all my errands

B. Send the packing and cleaning pixies my way

C. Just plain motivate me to get off my butt and pack/clean while the baby is taking his nap

Thanks.

Can't motivate you...I have 2 weeks to go, am supposed to be working, and I'm still DISing! :teeth: Have a good trip :goodvibes

Have a wonderful trip!!!!

Well I'll see if I can help. First off let me say what a wonderful person you and your family are to do foster care. My GF and her husband did it years ago and I remember all the things that they had to do both physically and emotionally to prepare themselves for a child. They ended up adopted the 2 children they took in and wanted more but could not take the heartache any more when the parents where able to take their child back. Every child/person needs to feel loved and wanted and I compend you for that.

You mention that your spending time with MIL. Maybe she is willing to lend a hand, spot clean on Saturday ( you know your house will get dirty anyway and you'll have to do it all over again ), call friends-maybe they are willing to help you out, what gets done, gets done and what doesn't will have to wait. Don't stress out too much about everything. It will all work out. Just think you will be coming to the "magical" place in the world and then we you come home you will get a wonderful child. Life doesn't get much better than that.

Good luck to you and your family and I hope it all works out for all of of you.

Why not put on some upbeat music - for me its the 80s or Disney, of course. When I put on "my" music, I can't sit still. If you have the Disney XM on your cable/dish, put that on and turn the volume UP! Well, if the baby is napping, I suppose not too loud. :cool1: Music always helps to motivate me. We have 37 days until our trip and I am anxious to start packing. I know me, though, I will be still packing an hour before we leave. :rolleyes1 BTW, we are a foster family, too. We have an 8 yr old bio son and two precious little sisters (2 & 4) that we pray to adopt. This will be the fifth trip for DS but the first for our DFDs. I CANNOT wait to share the Disney magic with our girls. They are so looking forward to meeting the princesses! Think of the joy that you all are going to have in just a few days! Get up and Get MOVING!!! Have a fantastic trip!!!
