I don't care how old they were that's just nasty. In fact it would make it even worse if they were in their 20's or 30's. I am 23 and feel I can say that most young people today have no decency. Get a room and leave us out of it.

I am amazed at the attitudes of some parents and GRANDPARENTS. When we were on our cruise in April there was a white trash family; beer before 9 am at the pool, the sweetest little 4 year old grand daughter whose hideous grandmother, drinking her adult beverage kept saying to her GDD, "come here honey, gramma has a cocktail for you". Can they spell AA???

I say you were much too nice in not busting them....and I'm not being critical. I personally would have been at the front office of the hotel in about 30 seconds. I don't waste time anymore ( been sworn at too many times) politely telling people to stop obnoxious behavior that is offensive to my family. I just don't have patience for rude behavior anymore. Sorry.

We were in Ocean City, NJ for a long weekend in July visiting family and in the suite across from us someone decided to have a party. I let it go on till 12am when my 4 yr old woke up for the 3rd time. I called the front office and they sent someone over. The music everyone in the complex could hear was shut off, but it didn't stop the party goers from keeping the door open and having their loud party outside. I had to call a 2nd time at 1am and I complained about it when we checked out.

As for the behavior you've witnessed with the teens in the pool with consenting parents in attendance.......I would have complained to management in a heartbeat. It's a family pool afterall and that's not behavior that younger children or anyone for that matter should have to witness. They could take it inside their room, especially since the parents didn't seem to care.

I'm reading all of this thinking about how my parents would react if they saw me with a girl doing things like that. They would have calmly asked me to accompany them to their room, and you may have never seen me again.

Seriously though, how many times have you heard the old cliche "When I was a kid, we really had it bad..." Well, you may not agree with this, but I think this is the first generation of kids to actually have it worse than the ones before. Sure, they have all the comforts of games and instant gratification, but they don't have the protection of good caring parents that we had. They will pay the price when they hit the streets and find out that the world can be a cold and bitter place when it's filled with people who act just like they do.

And NO, I am not referring to ALL kids today. Just the ones who are being discussed here.

This always disgusts me!

At age 22, I am proud to say that my parents have barely seen me hold hands in public with my boyfriend (who I have been with for three years). We do not kiss or grope in public. My mom always comments when we go out with my friend and her husband because he is CONSTANTLY touching her. I don't know, maybe I grew up old fashioned, or maybe I AM old fashioned, but I don't find these kinds of things acceptable. I agree that it was very trashy.

I agree that the behavior was unacceptable. I disagree in labelling them "white trash", though. It's not like only uncouth caucasians are guilty of this type of bevaior in public.

Thanks! I always worry that I'm gonna tick somebody off when I say things like that. To correct people I mean. I find, especially recently, that I'm becoming the "Anti-Insult Enforcement Chief of Police, DIS Dept."
