Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

In December, my Mom and I went to WDW. During our stay, we spent a day resort hopping to check out the Christmas decorations. The tree at GF had the most beautiful hummingbird ornaments. My Mom being an avid h'bird collector, inquired at Guest Services about the ornaments, but they had no info on where to buy. When we got home, I e-mailed WDW guest relations, and they responded with the name of the manufacturer. There were a couple of places near our home that carried their products, but none of them had the h'bird we had seen at GF.

Fast forward to yesterday, I arrived home from work to find a package at my front door from WDW. Inside the package were 2 of the ornaments we had seen on the tree at GF along with 2 additional carved h'bird ornaments and a beaded Mickey head ornament. There was a note in the box from Holiday Services that said Merry Christmas from your friends at WDW. I was absolutely shocked and stunned. Just another example of Disney going above and beyond for their guests.

Sorry so long, but I just had to share my story.

That is a wonderful story :wizard:

Thank you for sharing with all of us ::MickeyMo

That is so wonderful!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your story, I bet your mom is thrilled!

great customer service. for all the gripes that some folks post here, this is a shining example of what Disney is doing right. over and above the call of duty.

they just make customers for life from not only you but others who hear your story and are impressed. (ok, most of us here are already customers for life, but others you share that story with my be converted.)

I just love hearing stories like this. Thank you for sharing. :wizard:

That wasn't "Disney", that was a person who was doing a random act of kindness! Pass it on! :grouphug: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Welcome GrumpyLuver! Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful story with us. It is so refreshing to hear such a wonderful story about Disney, instead of hearing so many complaints. I think that is wonderful what they did for you. My MIL collects hummingbirds also. Can you tell me if there was a place at one of the WDW shops to buy these hummingbirds? We are going in May and would love to buy her one for her b-day!! Thanks again!!! :flower:

Made my eyes well. How wonderful and special for you and your mom!

Your story gave me goosebumps. And I am not THAT type of person at all! The story was wonderful in itself, but you told it beautifully too. Thanks so much for sharing!

Yes, but I'm sure it couldn't be done without the approval of someone in Disney. After all, they did give away real Disney property. Without permission I think it is called "petty theft". My guess is that it was done with the full support of the Disney Co. Well, Mike Eisner might not have been in the loop but I'm sure others were.

What a wonderful story! I'm so glad you shared it with us. :)

I am going to share your magical story with my grumpy husband who thinks that one trip every couple of years to WDW is enough - maybe it will spread some of the magic to him!!!!

What a nice story! I went on the Yuletide Fantasy Tour this past December. We actually go to tour the Holiday service building. It was amazing what they had in there. It was a great tour if anyone gets the chance to do it.
Had you given them your name and address when you first inquired?

Thanks for taking the time to write that up for us to read. :flower:

It is very easy to complain (as anyone in customer service can tell you) that that when someone takes the time to tell a story about good service it is very special. :flower:

The magic found you even after you went back home. This is a wonderful story, thanks for sharing it with us.

Welcome to the DIS!
