Hello, I was wondering if you DL experts can help me. Four of us (in our 20s) are planning a trip in october. We plan to get in very late Thursday night and then take the red eye back east Sunday night. We definitely want to do the Halloween Party on Friday night. Do you think we should buy a park ticket for this day ( believe you can enter starting at 4:00 pm), or will the halloween party, all day saturday, and until about 6:00 pm sunday be enough to see the majority of the attractions?

Additionally, we are planning on staying at the Hampton Inn Anaheim. Is this within (safe) walking distance. Are there any shuttles to and from the hotel? And if so, how much does it cost?

Thank you very much for your help! I'm a WDW person venturing out to DL for the first time, and I seem a little out of zone here. :)

I can answer the first part of your post. If you want to see the majority of the park, there's no way you can do that without buying a full day ticket. Even in one day, you can't see everything. Now if you're planning on visiting the parks the next day and a few days after that, then it won't matter if you just buy a Halloween Party ticket for that night. I hope I've helped a little bit!

First, it will cost you about $50 per person (3 day vs. 2 day park hopper) to go into the parks on Friday before MHP. So, you have to ask yourselves if it's worth it. You will be rushing things to see both parks in 2 days, so if it were me, I think I would spend the extra money since it's is your first trip.

Second, the Hampton Inn is a bit too far to walk comfortably (1 mile). Being 20 somethings, this might be doable, but at midnight after a full day in the park, I don't think you would want to.

Look into Anaheim Resort Transit (ART) as a shuttle. They have buses every 20 minutes, with at least 2 routes with stops near the Hampton Inn. They have a 3 day pass for $10 per person.

I hope this helps, and have wonderful time.

I would consider a 3 day 1 per day ticket. It's a little cheaper (if money is a concern) and this will give you more time in the parks then a 2 day ticket.

Keep in mind that weekends in Oct can be busy. So you will be battling crowds-why not give yourself plenty of time to see & do it all? ;)

It is totally doable to only have 2 days plus the party date. We usually only do 2 days. But we always go in off season with literally NO lines. So its much easier to see it all. But I would recommend for your first visit to do 3 days.

I would also highly suggest you look into staying at a closer hotel. You will waste valuable park time in transportation. While the ART shuttle is nice, don't forget that they service other area hotels. So you may have several stops before & after you plus the time you spending actually waiting for the shuttle to arrive.
