Some thoughts on the Dining Plan

My husband and I just got back from 5 nights at Universal.

We stayed at RPH and did a 4 day full dining plan.

This consisted of 4 quick service meals, 4 full service meals, 4 drinks and 4 snacks.

First off it was very easy to use and overall we had no issues with using the cards.

I would suggest eating any full service meals outside of the parks as you got more bang for your buck. We got our choice of huge desserts on Citywalk and the food was overall better in my opinion. We ate one meal at Finnegan's at Universal Studios and while it was good we only got a dessert shot instead of our choice of desserts like we had at Pastamore's and Pat O' Brien's.

The only glitch was that there was not any quick service places on Citywalk as we were promised. Pastamore was supposed to have a "market" but that was not there anymore so on our 4th day of the plan we had no where to get a quick service meal. (Our park days were used up and we planned one day to do Citywalk and relax at the pool). We were credited for the quick service meal with a gift card to use anywhere we wanted. I commend Universal for doing that for us.

Another good thing also was that Cinnabon at Citywalk took our cards for a classic cinnabun and a drink so we used our snack credits there a few times.

For me it was way too much food but for my husband it was great!

No problem. Hope it it gives some insight into the plan if people are contemplating it.

We had the dining plan and it worked great for our family. Te kids like the snacks. It was a lot if drinks so we usually ended up taking some drinks back to our hotel when we left. We enjoyed the air down meals at mythos and finnegans and was not bothered by the small dessert since we were already quite full and my teenage boys did bit usually want theirs since they were already stuffed. It was an easy way to eat at universal. They staff was really good about it since it was brand new when we were there.
