I need some info on this restaurant. First off, we have the dining plan so we get appys and dessert. I checked Deb's site and am concerned about both. What appys have people ordered that are not raw fish or cooked eel? Is there anything that a non adventurous type eater could have for an appy that was good?

Also, what about dessert? What was the best one? The pickings are slim I see a lot of chestnut items, are they tasty?

Last one, were the portions adequate at lunch? Did you feel full when you left?

Thanks!!! We are booked here but there are 6 of us and I just want to make sure this is a good choice! Thanks again princess:

I thinked you'll be fine, don't worry. You will probably end up checking out the unique desserts at the bakeries after your meal regardless of if your full or not.

Your post worried me. :) I was thinking about trying this place next time.

I just checked the menu...what about the garden salad as an appy and ice cream for dessert if the mousse doesn't loook appetizing?

I think that's what I'll try.

My problem is one dd won't eat anything I see on the list...except steamed rice. Does anyone know if it's plain, white steamed rice with nothing mixed in?

TIA,

Yes, On our last visit (2 years ago) the rice was plain steamed white rice.

Thanks!!!

I guess middle dd will be having steamed rice and choc ice cream...glad we're on the meal plan. :)

Salad is automatically included with the meals. Previously they had shrimp and scallop appetizers that were doene on the grill that were really good. Last time I went back, sushi was all they had for appetizers and I had the California rolls whick I believe is crab meat and they were pretty good but I wish they would bring back the old appetizers.

Portions at lunch are quite ample. Usually fried rice is included with meals, but white rice is available. We dined there and enjoyed it greatly (even my 2 picky eaters who only at rice and one tried some steak).

Salad is NOT included with the meal. We've been going since 2004 and they have stopped this.

They have fresh fruit and various ice cream flavors and orange sherbet available for dessert.

We were there for lunch last month-not on the dining plan-and you can add soup or salad for $1.

I had a salad and the shrimp and scallop entre and wish I had split the entre with someone. There is a lot of food - zucchini, mushrooms, onions, sprouts, rice, and your meat/fish. I wasn't bursting when I left, but I wasn't hungry for the rest of the day...I had wanted to eat more snacks at the WS, but just wasn't hungry for them.

I just ate dinner there with my family on June 27th. The meal was very good. I would not call myseldf adventerous, but I ordered the spicy tuna roll and it was very good. The only reason I ordered it was beacuse I was on teh meal plan and figured this would be the time to try it. It was very good. For desert I had a chestnut moose that was very good. Anotehr person had a piece of chocolate cake that looked very good. Enjoy!!

There are 2 halves with 2 different menus... the basics are chicken stake shrimp i enjoyed it and im 12f i want to find one around my hometown i had SOOO much fun.. the little girl (around 5) that ate with us enjoyed it... except when she first came in... she layed her hello kitty on the grill and her mom yelled at her for it oops!!

My girls and I were here last month for lunch. The couple next to us had the dining plan. When it was explained to them they were told they could have an appetizer or an add-on to their meal, shrimp, chicken, or beef, I believe. White rice was only available and salad or soup was $1.

Thanks for all the input...it looks like a def for us. We love these kind of places, but they are usually out of our budget. Gotta love the meal plan.
