Ohana - it was good, dessert excellent, fun for the kids, but it cost us I think $115 for 2 adults, 2 kids with tip. For that much money, I couldn't justify it again.

Brown Derby - Went here for the Cobb salad. Was very disappointed. You have to really like the taste of avacado to enjoy this salad, as to me this was the overriding flavor. Service was terribly slow. Waited almost an hour for our salads. And they weren't that busy. Grapefruit cake good.

Garden Grove @ Swan - Sunday breakfast buffet very good. Excellent made to order omelletes, Mickey waffles. Character interaction good. Goofy, Pluto, Chip/Dale.

Whispering Canyon - Pulled pork great. Chili good. Smores dessert not so great.

Trail's End Buffet - Read lots of good reviews, but we didn't think it was very good. Food just not very good. Service poor. Wouldn't go back.

Liberty Tree Tavern, lunch - Turkey dinner, very good. Pot roast, okay; meat was a little dry. Overall, we would probably return.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

We are leaving for WDW on Saturday and the only restaurant that matches up with our current plans is LTT for lunch. Is it at all kid friendly? We will have DS2 with us and like to go into restaurants as prepared as we can be.

Thanks.

I think you'll be fine. Our kids are 5 and 7. We were there kind of late for lunch, 2:45. It wasn't real busy, but I think most anywhere at WDW is kid friendly.

Thanks for the reviews. I've never really noticed an overwhelming avacado taste with the Derby Cobb--my impression afterwards is mostly blue cheese!!

I just made a ADR for Trail's End today. I have read so many good reviews about this one. Can you tell me exactly what it was that you didn't care for? We will be traveling from SSR for this meal and there are so many other places we could try instead. I'm not looking for gourmet food but I thought with the choices of fried chicken, fish, salad and other items, it would please our large group.

Well, Trail's End wasn't bad as in the food was inedible or anything. It just wasn't outstanding we didn't think. The salad bar was your average. Then there was mac and cheese (just okay), red skinned potatoes (looked better than they tasted, but were okay), green beans (not great), rice (seemed like just plain rice), mashed potatoes (not great), cornbread (okay).

Then for the meats, I believe salmon was the fish. It looked pretty dry, so I didn't take any. The ham was good. There was a beef sirloin, which I didn't try. Cheese pizza, which the kids thought was okay.

For dessert they had apple crisp and chocolate bread pudding. They were alright, but we asked for ice cream with it. The waitress brought it after a long while, then said at the end oh, I forgot to charge you for the ice cream. Wow, thanks. Oh, the one thing that was really good was they had a vanilla pudding cake type thing on the buffet that was really good. It looked like vanilla wafer pudding, but it had cake in it. And they did have some different fruits too.

Our waitress was not great. We waited forever for drink refills and our check. It may have just been an off night, as there have been many good reviews.

We chose Trail's End because we were going to the sing-along with Chip and Dale afterwards, and it would be close. And we were staying at the WL, which was close.

You might find you like it. It's not an overly big place, and the buffet itself is not very large. I'd say maybe go ahead and try it. I seem to be in the minority as far as my review.

When I said I didn't think we'd go back, it's probably because there are so many other places to try, and it just didn't knock our socks off, so to speak. Good luck.

At 'Ohana's did the kids order something different or eat what everyone is given? I read you can order off the kids menu from Kona instead. How old are the kids and what were the activities they did?
We are all booked for November.
Thank you!

I've read too where the kids could order off the Kona menu, but ours just ate what we had. They are 5 and 7. I think you're charged the Ohana price for kids no matter what they eat.

If I had it to do over again, I would request to be seated in the main dining area, not off to the side where you first walk in. You miss a lot of the action. They did a limbo, were given a lei, marched around with marraccas (sp?), coconut race (I couldn't see well, but I think they pushed them with a broom.)

Thanks so much for letting me know the details of your experience. Did you try the fried chicken? I've read it's pretty good and my husband and my girlfriend's husband love fried chicken.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.
