Some Resort Ressie Questions From a First Time AP Holder

I'm almost certainly getting one AP for our 10 day WDW trip in March to take advantage of the 20% discount on dining and beverages. We're staying at BWV for the first 9 days and I just booked POR for the last 2 at the AAA rate. If there's an AP rate for those 2 that's better than the AAA rate I got I'd like to switch, but I don't know how to do it. First, is there an AP rate for Moderates for 3/9 & 3/10? If so, will I actually have to have the AP or AP voucher in hand when I make the ressie or can I bring it to the desk at check-in time?

Thanks for any info offered,

Hi, Bill! I've never had to give "proof" that I'm an AP holder when I book a room at the AP rate. Just make sure you have it or the voucher with you at check-in and there won't be any problem. :thumbsup2

Same experience here. Never (yet) during the ressie process, but we always made sure we had it with us for check-in.

Is this because you're going to get the DDE card? Because AP holders only get a 10% discount on food during lunchtime Mon-Thurs at some restaurants.
The DDE card, which costs $60 for AP holders, gets you 20% off of food and alcohol at all Table service restaurants and all restaurants at AK (because they have no TS locations).
Just don't want you to get in a fix thinking you'd get the 20% discount for being an AP holder.

Thanks, twocat, I ran the numbers based on dinner table service meals and what our bar tab will be at our favorite watering holes over 10 days and we'll make out on the DDE card, and the DDE requires the AP, correct? I added the two, figured our dining and drinks and 20% will more than make up for the difference between the AP plus DDE and the 10 Day Hopper w/expiration we were going to buy. Thanks to all for the info, I'm calling CRO right now to see about and AP rate for my days.

Great, Bill!
Only FL residents and AP holders can get the DDE. AP holders pay $60. FL residents pay $85.
It's a real deal especially for long stays like yours or multiple stays in a year. Mine has more than paid for itself over the past year with about a total 18 nights stay.
FYI-you get half price admission to Pleasure island for you and 1 guest with the DDE.
Answer back and let us know if you got the AP rate.

Bill:

How often will you be at PI or the waterparks? You might want to take a look at PAP?

Hey, Hawk, good to hear from you again. I've got 5 or 6 plusses from old 7 Day Hopper + passes and Mary will be getting a 10 Day Hopper with 6 plusses so we've got PI covered.

BTW, I called CRO and the AP rates are not out for beyond this year yet. The CM said to try in Jan.

Good deal Bill - then AP should be perfect. I see you will be at POR for a couple of days. We are there from 2/19 to 03/11. Have you seen Bob Jackson - "Piano Man" at the main bar? If not, your in for a real treat!

Hawk,

Great news! We'll be finishing up our trip at POR on 3/9-311. We were there in 2000 and didn't catch his act but will this time. Our dates are 2/28-3/9 at BWV then a hop to POR. Let's raise a few at the R&C again.

Bill
