We got back from our very first trip on Friday and we had a magical time! We didn't wait more than 20 minutes for any ride and we hit all the "big" ones! We did eat some meals in our room and just snacked for some meals. The crew included myself, DH, DS8, DS6, my Mom and DS 6 months.
The counter service restauarants we tried were:
Pizzafari
Wofgang Puck's Express
Casey's
Columbia Harbour House
Table service restaurants were:
Whispering Canyon Cafe for both lunch and dinner
Crystal Palace for breakfast
Ohana's for breakfast
Les Chefs de France for lunch
First day 5/4
___________
We had ADR's at WCC for 6:20. We waited about 25 minutes to be seated.
The restaurant was full and pretty loud. Our boys loved all the craziness and kept asking the waiter for ketchup and gum, etc... My DH and Mom ordered the skillet dinner, I ordered the ribs, DS8 had the kids skillet and DS 6 had the kids mac and cheese. The corn bread was very good and we all enjoyed it. My DH and Mom liked the skillet, with the shrimp, potatoes and beans drawing the highest praise! I thought the ribs were okay, nothing amazing but not bad either. The potatoes tasted good but parts were cold. DS8 loved his skillet, he's very easy to please! DS6 did not care for the mac and cheese and pretty much just ate cornbread, he's our picky one! They both enjoyed the worms and dirt dessert! The service was pretty good. I didn't think my ribs looked done so the waiter brought another plate out and then the chef came out later to make sure they were okay. Don't know if I would go back unless we were staying at the WL again. I definitely wouldn't pick this one if I didn't have the kiddos with me!
As a side note, if you like frozen drinks the "Pina Colava" at the pool bar was really good, I had at least one a day! It was a pina colada with raspberry swirled thru, yummy!
Day 2 5/5
__________
Lunch at Pizzafari
We got there around 11:45 and the lines were very short and we were easily able to get a table. DH and I had the Italian sandwich, which was surprisingly good. I would definitely recommend it. My mom had the chicken caesar salad, also good. The kids had the pizza (not on kids menu) and they liked it. It reminded me of Boboli pizzas. It was nice to sit inside and cool off!
After lunch, we bought Mickey ice cream bars at a stand for dessert. The kids loved them!
Dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Express
We arrived around 6 and the lines to order were pretty short. I had the Chinois Chicken salad, which I really didn't care for. It didn't have that much taste. I'm a salad nut so I was dissapointed. DH had the Tortilla Soup and the Spicy Chicken and Sweet Peppers pizza. Both were really good, I ended up eating some of the pizza! DS6 had a plain pizza, which was very good. DS8 had chicken strips and fries, also very good. My mom had a calzone type dish, with chicken which was also good. We had great seats outside and the service was good. I would definitely recommend it!
We had dessert at Goofy's Candy Company. Oh yum. We "made" our own candy. I had pretzels covered in chocolate and crushed M&M's and let me tell you, they were delicious! Especially after a few hours in the freezer. The kids loved this place, too!
More to come later!
