We leave in 4 days!!!:cool1: Our first day at Disney is one week from today. For those of you who leave there or have been this time of year, should we pack shorts? Does Rainforest Cafe and Studio 365 give discounts if you have a Disney Visa? Would you go to the parade and fireworks on Sunday or wait until a week day when it could be less crowded? sorry for all the random questions. Trying to finalize everything. Thanks!

I'm not sure on the shorts thing. Normally I'd say yes, but I'm not sure if our rainy weather in Nor. California has spilled over down south.

Best bet is trying to see fireworks early in your trip. It's not unheard of for them to be canceled because of winds, and you don't want to miss out on them entirely because you waited until later in the trip to see them. We generally try to catch them the first night we are there just in case.

I have a sister who live in Anaheim. She says the weather has been beautiful but being so close to the coast any storm can roll in and drop temp's and rain. I would pack shorts if it were me (were still in the 50's here) and I would pack some pants and sweaters just in case. I would wait a week and go when its less crowded. Although the lines at DisneyLand are nothing compared to some of the long lines I was in at WDW.

I would definitely pack shorts! Southern California can get some mildly hot weather. However, pack some light jeans as well because while it feels like 80 degrees in the day, it gets a little nippy at night, but not too much so you would be fine with something light!

Pack some jeans but also pack pants and a pullover. Depending on the day, it can be hot or breezy but at night it gets really cold. The weather is very hot and cold literally.
As far as the Disney Visa, they are advertising to everyone to apply in DownTown Disney quite a bit. So it would make sense for them to give the discount.

Does Rainforest Cafe and Studio 365 give discounts if you have a Disney Visa?

No discounts given at Rainforest, looks like Studio 365 does. This is from the Disney Visa site:

A $50 minimum pre-tax single transaction merchandise purchase is required to receive discount. Must use your valid Disney Rewards Visa Credit Card, Disney Rewards Debit Card, or Disney Rewards Redemption Card as payment form and mention this offer. Discount is not valid on purchases of DVD, VHS, software media, Walt Disney Classics Collections, original or limited-edition artwork, selected collectibles, food or beverage, Disney Dollars, Gift Cards, Ticket Media, Park Admission, Arcades, sundries, Postage stamps, digital and video cameras, disposable cameras, shipping or taxes. Discount does not apply at the following locations: Midway Games, Fairytale Arts, Jewel of Orleans, Silhouette Studio, Portrait Artists, Parasol Cart, Heraldry Shop, Crystal Shops (Crystal Arts & Crystal d’Orleans), Face Painting, or at any Downtown Disney® District location other than World of Disney® Store, Marceline’s Confectionery, Studio Disney 365 and Disney’s Pin Traders. May not be combined with any other discount, offer or promotion. Not valid on previous purchases. Separate Theme Park admission may be required.

I live in southern california, its really nice today, in the 70's. According to weather.com there is no rain in sight, I keep checking for our hotel stay out there. I personally would not wear shorts because Im used to this type of weather and 70's isn't considered WARM enough to wear shorts, I wont consider shorts until we are well in the 80's.

Oh and it does get pretty cold once the sun goes down.

Check the firework schedule and make sure they are during the week. We were there March 5-10 and they were only on Fri, Sat and Sun not during the weekday, so make sure if you don't do them on the weekend that they are even having them during the week!

When we were there it only got to 65 degrees, I know it is suppose to warm up so you should be fine, but we never wore shorts. We wore jeans, short sleeve t-shirts and most days had to keep our sweatshirts on, only taking them off a few hours in the afternoon. Hopefully the sun will shine more when you are there! You will have a great time even if there is no sun, we sure did!

I'm from Oregon too! I would check the weather first, but more than likely it will be "hot" compared to here this time a year, so take some shorts... And more importantly, HAVE FUUUN! :D

My kids and DH took shorts last week and wore them, there were a few times when the sun hid behind the clouds and they got a little chilly but I told them to wait it out for a few minutes and sure enough the sun came back out, they were really glad they brought them though, there were times that the sun reflecting off the black pavement really made it seem like 80 instead of 70! have fun whatever you end up wearing!
