Some questions regarding our first stay at USF

I am taking my wife to Universal for her birthday in october (Oct 14-17). She really wants to see Harry Potter. I could save some serious money by staying at a hotel off site but then would not get FOTL access. Is it really necessary for FOTL access in October? I don't know if it's worth it to spend $600 more for an onsite hotel with FOTL access.

Many people thing that for a long time HP will be very crowded. But remember that there is really only one new ride for HP. The other 2 are re-themed rides. You could always by a one-day express pass but I've also heard that HP will NOT be accepting Express Passes. The best advice is to get over to IOA before opening and head straight over to Harry Potter.

Since WWoHP is so unprecedented, its unknown what true impact it’s going to bring to the rest of the resort. Keep in mind that October is also HHN, that already brings crowds. But also I want to add 1 night onsite gives you 2 days of Express – you may want switch your resort stay offsite on arrival to save some cash.

I would suggest at least one night on site, giving you two days of FOTL access. It cant hurt to have FOTL with crowds coming in for HHN and Harry Potter.
