Hi everyone,
Have some q's that I could use some help with.

-How do we get to IOA and Citywalk from U/S. A map/layout would be awesome if someone has one.

-Where's the best place to park if I want to visit all 3 in the same day?

-What's the best park to visit on a Friday? We have a 2 day-2 park ticket, so I'm guessing that means we can go to both IOA and U/S on the same day?

-Also, are there any touring plans like they have for the Disney parks?

TIA!

The parking for CityWalk, Universal, and IOA is all in the same place so you just have to follow the signs to the parking garage. From the parking garage you walk into Citywalk. Once inside CW, you can either continue walking straight to IOA or you turn right and walk to the entrance of US. Both US and IOA are connected to CW, so it will be easy to find and navigate.

all 3 are right next to each other, very close together, only one parking garage for all 3 also.

For touring, the best advice is to stay onsite at one of the 3 Universal hotels. If that is not in your plans/budget then be sure to arrive in the garage at least 1/2 hour prior to scheduled opening. If you are at the park at opening, you are virtually guaranteed to walk on the rides of your choice. Unlike the WDW parks, most guests staying in a Universal hotel start their day at a leisurely pace and don't rush right over to the parks. Typically, the parks won't start to get busy until late morning and by that time you could have your favourite rides completed.

if you are not staying on site, be at the garage to park by 8 to avoid the crowds.
be at the turnstyle gate at 8:15. more times out, guests are allowed to enter before opening time if there is a long line.

eat at off hours. do lunch around 11ish or after 1:45.
off hours for dinner also.

hit IOA on friday first and do the coasters in the front. go to the left once you are in IOA.
then head to the back for the attractions as it will be empty in the morning time. crowds will begin around 11 ish....

swing around to seussland before you head over to the studios side.
you will have more people here in the afternoon but not unbearable.

if the line is long to enter when you get to the studios, by pass the front attractions and go towards the back of the park for rides. people tend to start from the beginning of a park and then work back or around it. this might help you avoid heavy crowds.

if you have a 2 park 2 day pass, you can switch from one park to the other.
get your hand stamped when you leave one park for another.

take the shortcut behind hard rock cafe to get over to the studios side.

Here's a map for you.

Awesome, thank you all so much for your info!!

Any other tips, suggestions, etc. are much appreciated!

Oh, and one more question. Online they only offer the 1 park meal deal for $19.99, but where can I buy the 2 park meal deal pass for $24.99?

i have not bought the 2 park meal deal.

send an email to guest services and ask or can you wait until you get there?

go and check some of the threads about the meal deal that has been around for awhile. there was more info on that thread that helped many.

maybe someone else will know the answer.
i know lindalinda did the plan and she liked it.

if you see her posting, send her a pm to ask about the meal plan
