I'm currently in the process of budgeting this wedding:scared1:and I have some questions on pricing and costs that I'm not quite clear on. Meri is currently busy so I thought I'd ask here:

1. Do you pay for children to have hor d'oeuvres? I just want to verify because for me I know most of our children won't eat the hor d'oeuvres and it seems like a waste but I know how Disney is.

2. For anyone that's had a cocktail hour on the Isola (or somewhere similar) is the $22.00 per person Pre-Reception minimum food only or can it include the bar drinks too?

3. When they calculate your estimated budget how do they determine the number of adults versus the number of children since they won't know for certain at the time?

i can help with #3...i gave them all adults in the begining because i didn't think that there were going to be any kids coming, but there ended up being 5, so i told them my final count and ended up getting pretty nice refund from disney...

if you know how many kids will be at your wedding before hand, tell them, the price is significantly different in most cases!

Yeah that's a good point - thanks! I'm pretty sure about 20 kids will come - I'd rather be budgeting for 100 adults and 20 kids instead of 120 adults when it comes to Disney prices!

Meri answered my email this morning so for anyone else who may have the same questions, here are her answers:

1. Do you pay for children to have hor d'oeuvres?
For receptions and dessert parties, children are full price for the food items.

2. For anyone that's had a cocktail hour on the Isola (or somewhere similar) is the $22.00 per person Pre-Reception minimum food only or can it include the bar drinks too?
Your bar will count towards the $22.00++ per person as well as any cocktail hour food items.

3. When they calculate your estimated budget how do they determine the number of adults versus the number of children since they won't know for certain at the time?
We determine this during the planning session, but I will base it on a number you feel comfortable with. Usually it is best to budget for a higher number and then bring it down as your begin to get your RSVPs. It's always better when the total number comes down as we make changes! :)

hmmm - for us children 3 and under were free and 4-9 (I am not completely sure on the 9 but it was around there) were half price for the reception. There is also the option of getting them kids meals, which vary in price.

I was wondering about this becuase her response said "children are full price for the food items", but that dosn't seem right. I plan on having a children's meal for the 4-9 age group and I will have several children within that age group plus I have at least 5 children that are 3 and under. I'll wait until the planning session but I'm going to question her about this.

Thanks for the help.

That sounds strange. Maybe it has to do with your location. :confused3

The (3) children (under the age of 3) in my party are eating for free (pre reception, dinner, cake and dessert party)

For the (7) children (between ages 4-9) we have to pay full price for pre-reception food AND the dessert party food, but had the choice of paying half price for the dinner or getting them kids meals for $20 (we opted for this).
