Some positive news on fast pass +

You never had to have a regular fp when it was the legacy system either. The rider swap pass is the fp for the second person.

Oh I know, it just seems worse now that FPs are so limited in number. Using your Soarin and TT example, which are tiered, so even more limited.

If you want to ride multiple rides that the little one can't, it can help your FP+ usage. For example, if you want to ride TT and Soarin' both, one spouse can get a FP+ or Soarin' and the other a FP+ for TT.

Spouse #1 brings too-short child to Soarin' entrance, asks for a Rider Swap pass, then rides Soarin' via FP+ line.

When spouse #1 exits the attraction, Spouse #2 goes up to the FP+ entrance and turns in the RS pass and is allowed entry through the FP+ line (without having to have a FP+ for Soarin').

Spouse #2 repeats what Spouse #1 did, just at TT instead of Soarin'. Spouse #1 rides TT via the Rider Swap pass.

RS passes are good for up to 3 people (at least they were in October), so if you have one child under the height requirement, and one child over - the child who is tall enough gets to ride twice - once with each parent.

Well, shoot, both my kids are over 40" now!

But this won't work if you have one child that CAN ride both TT and Soarin'. In this case, the child must have a fast pass, at least that's what I am understanding.

In the old days we would do 2 x fastpass for Soarin and 2 x fastpass for TT

we would get rider swap for too short kid then hubby and kid would ride with the 2 fast passes, then myself and kid would ride on the rider swap.

If you have an odd number of tickets it won't work for both attractions but it the kids will still get 2 rides per attraction you rider swap. Does that make sense.

But the reasons that a family need the RS option haven't changed, so I don't think the rules should change either. :confused3

I already posted on the "FP+ strategies" thread that I'm renting a baby for my next trip. ;)

I'll plan my next trip for your next trip and you can rent out my babies for the low cost of allowing me to pick your brain for sewing tips! :)

Yep. I posted this in another discussion a couple of weeks ago. In this case, the child gets to ride twice- however if Mom doesn't want to ride (ie Everest), then the child doesn't get to ride twice, unless Mom and Dad switch bands.

In the past - and yes, I know this is against the "rules" but for the money we all spend to vacation here, I think it's just fine to bend them a little :thumbsup2 - If Mom doesn't want to ride, then Dad and child rode twice. pirate:

Yeah we did that too, I was sat with a baby asleep on me and our son wanted to go again so his Dad took him again.

We also quite accidentally (the first time) put my inlaws tickets in the fast pass machine (I was holding them all and they were in SeaWorld) and it gave us a fast pass tickets, we utilised this mistake that day as well.

We are offsite so we won't have the magic bands but I don't see why you couldn't swap them.

What are the odds the CM at Splash will give me a rider switch pass when DH uses his FP+, if I appear with my 42 inch child who is terrified at the thought of riding Splash despite being tall enough and will happily explain that to the CM? That is within the rules of rider switch, right? ::yes::

It is at the CM's discretion. I would hope they would let you do it seeing that the child is terrified, but there are no guarantees.
