I posted two weeks ago that I fell down my stairs (10 to12 stairs) in my new home. I fell on Sat. I went to the Dr. on Monday, he said I took a good fall and that I tore my soft tissue and muscle's. Told me it would take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks to heal. Told me that within two weeks if I was still sore to get some theraphy.

So yesterday I go to my one specialist (for my diabeties-on insulin here for 40 yers) He finds my Blood sugar and blood pressure are high ( now I take meds for pressureand do very well). I also told him that I fell and saw my reg. primary care Dr. told him what primary told me. Dr. checks and sure enough I have swelling in my legs. Dr. now checks my shoulder and neck real good. Let me tell you I thought I was going to fly off the table and into MIL arms who was sitting in the chair. Sure enough he said there was the problem, a fractured colar bone.

So for two weeks I have been getting worse and worse, not any better. Now I know why. turns out there have people who have broken their foot and walked on it for two weeks. Dr. tells me that seems to be when some of these are discovered due to the healing.

I have to be at the hospital for 7:00am tomorrow. X-Rays, then what ever else they will do to set it, I was told that they may have to re-break it. OUch I say:eek: Not going to be a good weekend for me.

Has anyone had a fractured colar bone? If so what do they do for it. Oh I am not going to lie to any of you..... "I'M SCARED":( They have ordered pain meds for me. Also has anyone had a broken'fratured bone and did not know it right away?

Bless your heart. I'm glad they discovered this finally. I hope you have a quick recovery.

My husband fractured his collar bone when he was 13 but had an uneventful recovery. I hope you do too.
