Hi guys! So I took ur advice and edited out my topiary shots from April's trip. Just thought I would share some of them. I tried not to overdo most of them. Let me know why you all think! Some of the shots were really overcast or really bright cause it was late morning.

Very nice shots! Personally, I would scale back a bit on the vignetting as it can become a bit distracting; but to each his own. Other than that, I think the composition and sharpness are great. What gear did you use?

I 100% agree. Some great pics. I would love to see them with the vignette dialed back or taken away completely.

VPersonally, I would scale back a bit on the vignetting as it can become a bit distracting; but to each his own.?

I would also try to correct the blue sky "halo's" prominent in several shots. There's different shades of blue in some of the sky areas ranging from very dark to almost white, with some quite abrupt transitions. I personally find this a distracting effect of HDR processing which can sometimes be difficult to correct. Sometimes lowering the strength or increasing highlight smoothing can help.
I prefer a fairly uniform blue sky but, like fractal said, to each his own.

thanks! Ya know I always battle with that. I go back look again and change up, them go back. I use it to make my sky bluer at times cause I can't get the quality I want other wise.

I shoot with a 7d. Those were with my 24-70 2.8 version ii from canon and my Tokina 11-17 2.8.

The problem I had with the skies is they were pretty blown out already so I started dialing back the highlights I started getting those transitions that's why went to the vignetting to try to help get some blue back. What else can I do to help that. I'm so new to heavy editing like I'm doing to try to get detail out of the pics but you do introduce some pretty funky things in the process of it.

What software are you using for editing?

I use LR and will sometimes turn down the "blue luminence" (slide to the left) to get my skies bluer.

The other thing that may help is increasing the color noise reduction.

Finally - are you shooting RAW or JPG?

lightroom and nik suite. I do the blue and aqua sliders and the nose reduction tops already. Wasn't helping much cause of being so bright and blown out. I'll post some pre edited pics up too when I get a chance.
