some photos for those thinking of offsite

the Premier Classe Bussy St Georges rooms have had a facelift - this was our room on Saturday 5th November -

great hotel for a night or 2 - but the rooms are very small. We were in a room for 4, there was only DD and I, and we were tripping over each other. Our room was very clean though, as was the bathroom. Nice and warm too, and the beds very comfy. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

We got a taxi to the hotel from the train station because it was around 9pm when we reached Bussy St George and in the dark I really didn't have a clue where I was going (this was a bit of a mare on a Saturday night though, as there were no taxis waiting at the rank outside the train station, and when I called the number on the rank board no driver could pick us up for 20 minutes. But when he did arrive, the driver could not have been more apologetic or helpful).
In the morning we walked with our cases to the train station, it took less than 10 minutes and is an easy walk. The pedestrian gate at the entrance to the hotel complex wasn't working though, so we had to wait for a car to come through the road barrier to get out.

I would certainly use this hotel again for a first night at DLP before moving to a closer hotel the next day.

Do you pay visitors tax for children?

you've just reminded me, we weren't charged any local taxes at all for our stay this week at the Dream Castle. The only offsite hotel I've been charged local tax at was the Explorers, and I think they charged half the adult tax for children (as I recall it was no more than a couple of euros per night total).

I've never paid visitor tax. Whenever I've booked through Expedia it says I have to pay it but I've never been asked.

I stayed at the Cheyenne earlier this week and added 2 adults (room only) to the room when we got there. The CM said ok and at no point asked me to pay the extra tax.

That's fantastic. Hope that happens to me in January!
