Some people are so selfish

Your business partner is right where she should be. Sometimes people can never be pleased - they might have had the same attitude even if she was there ready and waiting for them. Hope she returns soon and everyone is healthy and happy!

As someone that had 3 c-sections. I was up and on my feet by the time I got home from the hospital- up and down stairs and lifting my toddler as well as the new baby.

How the heck did you lift a toddler after just getting home from the hospital after having a C-Section? That is NOT the norm. Are you human?

I had a C-Section and I sure as heck couldn't climb stairs easily (and definitely not with a baby). My mother helped me out for 5 days because I needed assistance.

For all of us who have had c-sections, who have not had c-sections, and who don't even know what the heck a c-section is...

Oh- and send me a trophy too. I never had a c-section. I just want a trophy. I've never gotten one and since you are handing them out I want one!:rotfl: I like shiny things.:lmao:

:rotfl2: No c-section for me either. My dh did get me a medal as a joke after my unmedicated childbirth at the birth center. I can share if you'd like. :thumbsup2

Yes, Nikel, do share!!! And it would be totally helpful if, at this point, you could throw in something about doing it the "normal" way as opposed to the "abnormal" way us C-sectioners did it. That always made me feel so great when I was having a skirmish of the Mommy Wars...:rotfl:

Hmmmmm......I might have to make Dh get me one! I did give birth last time with no meds. No time! Oh and my DD was 9lbs 1oz so I think that's pretty impressive. I appreciate your offer but I am now wondering why I didn't get one! I am always the Charlie Brown of the bunch. I got a rock.:lmao:

Hmm, well I was home again 8 hours after giving birth, and it was only that long because we waited until morning rather than heading home in the middle of the night. Is that what you're looking for? :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I want a trophy, too - so I can use it as a weapon on the next woman who tells me I should have been up and on my own 48 hours after my C-section, when I was instead lounging arround in the bed with my mother in attendance and a nice fat prescription of narcotics to keep me company while I recovered from a 26 hour back labor and 3 hours of trying to push ol' big head out before my middle of the night C-section...

:lmao:
This is the very best post I've read in a loooonnnnnggggg time. Thank you DVCLiz--I'm blowing you a kiss and raising my glass to you, girl! Seeing as I just peed my pants, I need to go tend to myself.

Can I get you one of my pullups?:rotfl:

Well, I'd like it better if you got home in time to get some yard work in before you had to nurse the baby...:rotfl:

Hmm, I've got to cut down on the smilies - they are making me dizzy!!!

Ah, yes - the bonus prize we all got to take home - a new baby, an incision, and poor bladder control for life!!!!!

:rotfl2: I only got one because I complained about how every time someone would ask me where I was planning on giving birth, and I'd tell them, they'd always ask, well what about meds. When I'd say I didn't want 'em, I'd get the whole you don't get a medal speech. Well in their face! I DID get one. :lmao:

I think the whole argument is just downright silly. If someone wants an elective c-section more power to them. Just leave me and my birthing choices alone. :thumbsup2

Seriously, I do agree with you!!!! No woman should have to defend her childbirth choice. When I was pregnant and giving birth, lo those many years ago, there were lots of people I knew who weren't shy about telling me that a C-section was unnatural, that the only good birth was an unmedicated birth, etc. etc. I'm totally for you getting to do it the way you want, but I sure did hate for people to pass judgement on me because I requested an epidural. OK, maybe the fact that I wanted the epidural to start when I was six months pregnant had something to do with it, but still...

Pshaw! Yard work? I don't do yard work. (I instead do all laundry, works well for us.) Plus dd was a winter baby. ;) I can't even say I went home and cooked. My mom brought us lunch, and my mil brought us dinner. My mil also took a week of half days, so she could keep ds (who was 15 months when dd was born) in the afternoons for me. I was a pansy. :rolleyes1

OK, sounds normal to me. I liked the part where my mom cooked for us all week, especially since my husband was working out of town and made a brief appearance for the labor and delivery but then had to leave again for three days....

With my son, the L&D nurse was very anti-epidural. The anesthesiologist came around, I said yes I wanted one, he told the L&D nurse to get me prepped while he did another epi ( there were five of us in labor that night - I can still hear the screams!).

Well the nurse is so anti-epi that she doesn't prep me, instead she nags me incessantly about why I should go drug free. The anesthesiologist comes back in, sees that I'm not ready and blows a gasket, yelling at the nurse and telling her that it's not her place to make my medical decisions.

I loved that man - I told him so many, many times as I recall. I think I offered to have another baby for him actually.

The one thing I'm thankful for, I swear my c-sections helped me keep my bladder control!!! :lmao:

I don't actually like to remember the things I said to my anesthesiologist. In my defense, I was drugged up pretty good....:rotfl:

That nurse was totally out of line - I would have called my doctor's office from the labor room and demanded they send me someone else from the practice!!!
