Some of the new VGF don't have balconies

Thank you! No, it's only the one studio at BR, I just never remember the room number. Anyone know why it doesn't have a balcony? I never thought to ask and I'm sure there is a reason.
I had heard it was a design issue. If you look at floor maps you'll see that the rooms on the floors beneath are dedicated 2BR's and I believe don't have balconies off of that corresponding area. For some reason the 4th floor was made a lock-off but to keep the congruity of the outside it meant the studio didn't get a balcony.

Here's a video walkthrough of the extra space resort studios. Layout is slightly different and I like the extra chair and coffee table.

So this turret studio has a balcony, thus is on floors 2, 3, or 4.
How do these vloggers get access to these rooms?

I think this particular vlogger is a DVC member, they've posted pretty much every room type within DVC and have posted a video from one of the moonlight magics this year. I assume they knew what rooms to request, got lucky with their reservation, or spoke to the front desk about getting this particular room layout.

That's the deal breaker for me. Since joining DVC (20 years), I can no longer stand a room without a balcony at WDW. I remember a few years ago we spent 1 night at POR, our pre-DVC hotel, "for old times sake". The lack of balcony really made an impact to me. I love sitting on the balcony with my morning coffee. Anyone else big balcony people? This guarantees I'll never book VGF2

It’s because I’ve seen them before in other DVC videos they’ve done that I was curious how they lucked out, there are only 4 of the turret rooms out of approx. 80 standards so a 1 in 20 chance of getting one, being a bit of a cynic I doubt that I’ll be so lucky - perhaps I’ll try tho’, wonder what magic request you need to make to enjoy similar luck & I wonder why we see no luggage in their video.

I always hang out on the balcony & love doing so & have noticed a lot of empty surrounding balconies through the years. The chances are small you’ll end up in a non balcony room - TP view bookings will all have a balcony, chances of a box balcony are higher - there appear to be several of them on all the 5th floor rooms that have balconies & some of the 4th floor studios.
I have a 2 night stay in the new building before I move over to a 1 br. in the original building for 10 nights this winter, so I’m ok w/ risking no/small balcony for a couple of days knowing I’ll have one for most of my stay. I’ve been thinking of requesting a lower floor, tho’, now I’m torn - do I shoot for the moon & ask for a turret studio & risk getting put in a nearby no balcony average size or bay bump out studio because that was as close as the room assignor could get me, or do I play it safe w/ the more likely to be granted lower floor request, or does it really matter - it’ll only be for 2 nights 😂.

yea to me like these turret rooms are like Copper Creek studios rooms that end in 115 or whichever give you the bigger layout/faux-1BR studio. I'll request it every time but not the end of the world if I get a different one.

Here is a layout of the 5th floor. I see 6 rooms. This was posted on www.DVCnews.com. Do the three rooms that appear to have been attached to another room as a suite have a balcony? It doesn’t look like it. I am talking about rooms 3, 4 and 6 in the picture below.
It doesn’t look like it on that floor plan, but I can tell you that there were definitely balconies on those rooms (bedrooms) when they were suites. They had a solid wall similar to the dormer rooms.

The attached room to them do have a small square balcony. Circled in the pic below in pic 1 and 2 is where the balcony for room #3 would be. There is a roof there and no balcony, you can see the windows for the room.
The third pic the windows for room 4 and 6.

No balcony is a BIG deal for us as we use it a lot! We love BR and just bought a small resale contract there ( have BCV only as home until now), but if we are assigned this awful room we would do our best to get moved if at all possible!

It would not be my happy day to get assigned it either. Luckily it's just one room so odds are low.

Big deal in cooler weather - not such a big deal in July / August - I would ask for the larger room then
